Why is 3D is acceptable in anime? At least draw on top of it or make it smoother if you want cheaper

This was the freakiest CGI i've seen in anime

it's not. they should use puppets instead

>Why is 3D is acceptable in anime?
It's largely not but what are viewers supposed to do about it? All they can do is not buy the CG anime

>Why is 3D is acceptable in anime?
It's not but these bastards keep forcing it in because it's cheaper and faster to vomit out as well as being more value for money.

>All they can do is not buy the CG anime
Not when practically every studio ditches 2d for it because they care about maximising profits more than art.

>Why is 3D is acceptable in anime?
What are you gonna do about it? Burn down the studio?
Or are you just going to accept it, faggot?

>just do something more expensive if you want it cheaper

rotoscoping would produce a far better result though

>but what are viewers supposed to do about it?
Don't further enable it by apologising. Don't contribute to it's popularisation. Help studios who're making actual anime. Any implementation of it should be heavily scrutinised. Help people understand the business and economical side of things so they can see why it's abused and can push back against it.

It isn't. Fuck 3D.

How much money are you spending each year on anime?

Plenty. But why did you reply with a non sequitur?

It's a common misconception that 3D is cheaper. It's not. 3D animators cost a lot more to do work and the models they make only beat out 2D if they are used enough to justify it. 3D is improving and will only get better with time.

>It's a common misconception that 3D is cheaper. It's not.
When are you going to stop spamming this lie you autistic apologist? It is cheaper and faster in the overwhelming majority of situations. Particularly for the kind of stuff anime requires. Stop intentionally trying to spread misinformation.

>3D animators cost a lot more to do work
They also need far fewer of them to get the job done. Less manpower essentially so it ends up costing less overall. A former Disney animator said this himself.

>3D is improving and will only get better with time.
This means nothing for anime which uses a 2D style. 3dcg is incapable of animating something that doesn't use a 3d model. Things like using transformations to represent objects.

kek

Because I did the math and the $ 0 that you're actually spending are also a perfect representation of how much your masturbatory call to arms is worth.

Kill yourself troll.

You're a dumb fag.

No it won't as long as the 3D is shit (e.g. extremely stiff animation) the rotoscoping won't do shit.

are the OVAs subbed yet?

Look how that worked out in Aku no Hana

>why is it acceptable
Because people still buy the shows and their merch despite cgi getting more and more intrusive.
>why don't they trace or use more frames
Did you know that cgi in 2d anime is deliberately bad? It's true.

Aku no Hana is an abomination. It worked well for the Chika dance though.

>hire someone to draw these panels
>done
Why is it so hard then?

>At least draw
>if you want cheaper
that's not how it works

3D is just making people realize that anime is underpaid hack work in a way that the crude drawings and jerky animation never did.

Only if it's not cheap. 3D works the best for backgrounds.

that line is from guilty gear xrd you penis, anime with cgi doesn't do that

THEY SEE ME ROLLIN'
THEY HATIN'

Someone please post some berserk 2016

Because it can be good. Japan just needs to realize that making CGI with a low framerate doesn't make it look like 2D, it just makes it look like shit.

Yaiba has a lot of 3D but it still looks good

>no automatic interpolation
>lack of hand done key frames
>deliberate timing errors
They're all over anime and they're done on purpose. They go out of their way to manipulate 3dcg to look bad because they think that's how you make 2d and 3d jive together.
They are of course, collectively out of their fucking minds.

>At least draw on top of it or make it smoother if you want cheaper

Smoother would be even more out of place, since anime is not smoothly animated.

I think that scene looks like shit. They tried to do too much.
The whipping pan scene when askeladd attempts his gambit with the cut sail looks fine though.

I'm honestly convinced Japan actually thinks their 3DCG is unironically good. Sometimes an anime has a scene where 3DCG isn't even required, like an empty street or something, and then they'll randomly add some shitty 3D car just for the heck of it just to fill out the scene. That's why it's garbage and continues to be garbage.
