Not that I care, but every single sequel will generally have higher and higher scores, since it filters out people at lower levels who don't like it and chose not to see it. All that's left is a pre-selected audience.
Multiply that times four or five sequels and you see the issue.
The only legitimate sequel scores are those which have a higher number of viewers than earlier installments.

It mostly has to do with the scores on anime. It always seems to give every new anime a ridiculously high score while some decent released in the previous decade and older seem to get insanely low scores. If you look at the top anime scores list and count the number of anime by decade on it, over 80% of anime on the list were from this decade. It's a severely shitty case of recency bias.

You realize that those retarded scores come from people using MAL to track their anime? And the site's not even good at that. A lot of the info they have is also plain wrong and will never be fixed.
The review sections actually contain some of the best content on the site, though Sturgeon's law still applies. It is the forums and clubs that are really cancerous.
