I liked it pretty well too and get sad whenever everyone trashes it since they think it's only a gloried candy/snack commerical. All the characters from both the girls to the guys were really amusing and I enjoyed coming home from work to watch it while it was airing; I liked it enough to get pic related too (especially since they weren't much). I'm sad the second season didn't have full eps but I'm glad we at least got it.
Hotaru is also best girl, though Saya is good as well.
It's a nice show to chill with and like I said, all the characters are pretty enjoyable. Not every ep is solely focused on snacks, like the festival one for example. As long as you aren't expecting some big grand plot or deep character development then I'd say you'd enjoy it, unless you just aren't much a fan for slice of life in general.

Sure, but usually that empathy comes from at least a passive interest in the thing being discussed. If the things being described in the show elicit a sense of disgust (as most candy is disgusting) then simple passion from the characters wouldn't be enough to make it interesting.

Shit I just remembered that they really shortened episode lenght in season 2.

The Anime is bad. The manga has 8-10 pages per chapter. Its the right amount and dosis to give you a short and fun read. Even if the Anime adapts 2-3 chapters from the manga into an Anime, the pacing doesn’t translate well into Anime.

The UK has a pretty good selection of cheap candy, especially if you can find a traditional sweetstore with jars of sweets.
