I'll admit it starts slow, but just watch it instead of coming here and making this shit thread. You could've gone to any other place on the internet and found out for yourself that people generally find the first half boring but think that the second half is good. Just be patient.
Plenty of things happen before episode 12 that are interesting, although I might be confusing details from the VN with what was included in the anime.

"I'm such a Nerd" - the anime

Stein's gate panders hard to the half-wit masses idea of being a nerd, giving it a pass. Okabe barely has any character beyond "HAHAHA Look at me I'm a giant attention whore but it's ok cause I'm QUIRKY xD" and what little is there is just I need to save my retard waifu written so sloppily it makes Maeda look like Hemingway. All the other characters are just JRPG /q/uest givers and have almost no relevance to the plot. Their cheap characterizations reflect that, having nothing to them outside of their tropes.

For a show that like to spew a lot about /sci/ence, it's not very logical. Everything only works conveniently to neatly fit what the plot demands, further complications are completely ignored. The ending is an asspull that wasn't built up at all and it's never explained why Okabe has the reading steiner. The romance is completely forced and feels like it only happened because he's the mc logic so of course the girl who has it all and can be any guy she wants has to end up with him. Got to to fulfill that fantasy.

Let's even take the whole time travel plot aside. Okabe is a student of a prestigious university, he is a good friend with other clever people (important people included), he makes cool things with them. Give him a few years and he will become a good scientist with chuuni gone, but charisma remaining. Kurisu will become a good match with him.

The first third of Steins;Gate establishes characters and concepts. The second two thirds is where you will, after having spent some time with these characters, come to cry over their desperate struggles to change fate.

I would say you're a shounentard that needs everything shoved down your throat as soon as possible, but even that isn't true given One Piece is still horrible boring shit after like 80 episodes.

You are more attached to the characters when you have some interactivity. When you watch Kurisu suffering that's sad, but when you give her additional suffering for curiosity, that's even sadder.

Moments like that do a way better job to convey Okabe's awful mental state by that point in the VN too, as well as helping bring the reader closer in. Since after all, I think most people made that decision without even thinking about it, much like he did. S;G doesn't do much in the way of branching but it does a really clever job of using what little agency you have to add some more weight to moments. Stuff like with Faris's route, how you have to essentially actively kill her father. The VN doesn't handle that for you, you the player have to press the button yourself.

It’s overrated but it’s also fun. Solid 6/10 production but overall a 7/10 for fun factor. The early game is slow and all about character, if you’re into the characters than the ride is worth it, if not, you probably wont like it. It’s fun schlock, that’s all.
