Except for the fact that there is no risk of getting mugged, the transportation system is extremely reliable and perfectly mapped by google maps and that for 5 dolars you can pop into any 7 eleven and eat no matter where you are.

Not that user but everyone saying you can get by with English only in Tokyo is a meme. Like everything anyone likes in Japanese cuisine is stuff generally considered a treat or a once-in-a-while thing. And even most of that is fairly bland. It's a pretty healthy diet though.

Well after actually living in Japan for an extended amount of time, I can say their palate is generally cleaner and healthier. They also have fair sized food proportions. I could buy a 440 yen full meal breakfast at Yayoiken on my way to work or home and feel pleased.
