I'm a big FKMT fan but after four decades of his mahjong manga and recent turds like Kurosawa and Zero sequels, it's hard to believe Mamiya can bring something new to the table. HERO and its 13 volumes are already doing the "legacy of Akagi/Ten" thing, so I would rather have scanlators focusing on it.

Are the sequels really bad? I read the original ones but at least Kurosawa felt like a finished story. I still want to read Zero 2 though, because it ended in a cliffhanger back then.

Zero sucked much harder because it continued nothing like the story and cliffhanger in first part suggested it would (deadly gambles were replaced with a kid-friendly Amazing Race, complete with comical sidekicks).
Kurosawa wasn't really that bad, but making a sequel didn't make any sense considering the original conclusion.
