This show fucking blows

Tbh, I think most of the characters were boring Chuuni bait that does not develop outside flashbacks, and very often found myself rooting for the villains because the "good guys" were too fucking chuuni and just wanted to see them killed to put a stop to their antics.

I still had some fun and I can see why people who watched it as teens would enjoy it. Also Durarara is much better.

Fun show with with fun characters (except for the burnt thief gang leader) and fun action. No real depth but that's not necessary for a good show

Burgers automatically love it because it's set in burgerland. Also gray/brown/beige color palette with jazzy music = mature, unlike all those pleb anime with COLORS. The episodes don't progress the plot chronologically, which subverts expectations and filters out the ones that just want to watch a chill show and aren't on the autistic spectrum. It's basically the perfect anime to present as your favorite if you want to appear cool on the internet.

Good times need bad times so you can appreciate the good times better. Besides, the Railtracer was based. Szislaw or whatever that shotaoji's name was was himself creepy, and immortality is creepy so it makes sense that you get creepy vibes from it.

The episodes progressing in a non-linear fashion may come as a surprise to the viewer at first, but you adjust after watching it for a bit. It's not a subversion.

Baccano is a show that autistic weeaboos who are ashamed of being weeaboos think appeals to people who don't like anime so they can claim to like it without being stigmatised. The seemingly "mature" setting and non-linear storytelling pattern gives an impression of being arty to plebs. I tried the show when it was Yea Forums's hit of the season, and stuck it just long enough to see for myself that Isaac and Miria were just dumb and not in the slightest bit funny. In all, the characters were a detestable crew of psychos and retards.

The novels are still going, it's crazy. I wish they released some master edition like FMP with 3 novels in one package for convenience's sake.

the book that was supposed come out was supposed to be the last before the epilogue (which itself seems like it'll be at least two books), but then it got delayed and the title changed so who knows much much more

It's just an enjoyable casual show. It's not the greatest anime but I don't regret watching it. It's not a profound story and the visuals aren't particularly striking but the characters are fun and the nonlinearity was handled well and the universe is pretty well constructed for something that doesn't even break 18 episodes. Somethings you just want something light.

baccano is great in concept and in set up, but falls flat in execution. they only worked it out by the time durara came around.
