It's the final fight of the Koshien between Naoki and Ibuki. Because of Naoki's overwhelming and passionately burning feelings during the fight, Kourin has an intense feeling well up inside her as well.

Cardfight Vanguard Shinemon trailer:
youtube.com
The amount of disrespect them did Ibuki is laughable. It's a perfect example of what vanguard has become
just me or did it feel anti climatic
>caring about respecting a former movie villain turned best mentor ever
With all the cuts to these guys, why does it feel like a call for help?
Except Kamui is the best mentor ever. Ibuki just turned into a stalker that shoves new cards into a weird ass kid's hole.
Anyone else really into Naoki x Aichi? This episode really did it to me, it was nearly explicit.
>What vanguard has become
>Implying he didnt get shit on any other time he appears
Fair enough, but really both of them did a good job mentoring that weird kid. Kamui was just more consistent while Ibuki was the creepy asshole who popped up at just the right moment to deliver wisdom and cards
Nome fight never ever
You're being too hasty. This is only arc 3 of however long V is going to last
Finally a full duel episode thank goodness. Everything was shown and explained. Just how I want it.
>stop making ride chains
>make this shit instead
>what are Hammsuke and Tsukuyomi
It's just friendly dogpiling user
You didnt tell your friends when their learning the game that all acts are 1/turn, right user?
I guess last episode for this arc next week then mascot recap episode after that before Shinemon.
Of course not. When you teach people the game you have to give people the correct information even if it may confuse them at first
*crashes your locals*
I think they said we're getting a special the week after next instead of another Vanguard Encyclopedia episode
Well that's a loss
I don't think this season had enough new stuff for an Encyclopedia episode considering how much was skipped over
Then that's a failure of the season for being too short
Perhaps. The weirder part is that there's The Raging Tactics that comes out next month in Japan that seems like an inbetween set when we have people that play those clans
>we will never see Miwa use Spinning Valiant
That's the real loss of this arc, not a lot of fights
There was only one episode without a fight this season.
The issue is the following;
>Clans that got support between start and end of season: 15
>Numbers of fights this season that weren't completely skipped: 13
>Number of said fights that debuted new support/VRs:6
>Number of VRs skipped over: 9
Im starting to think they will sit a whole year in this plotline
>tfw Shin episode 1 is actually Dimension 15
Why did they remove her assets?
To balance out Aichi's more feminine aspects
>1 episode left
>still NOTHING
>but next week is Kourin v Aichi
Is it really going to happen this time or is this the ultimate ruse?
something something this will be a 5 season long giga arc
Some may call it the V Saga
Gauntlet Buster Dragon is UNFAIR
WEASEL POWER
Agent Stealth Beast, Weasel Red
[AUTO](VC/RC):When placed, COST [Counter Blast (1)], discard any number of cards from your hand, search your deck for the same number of cards with "Agent" in their card names as cards discarded, call them to (RC), and shuffle your deck.
Ultimate ruse
Agency agency
Vanguard ZERO invites are going out 8/5. Here's to everyone here that applied getting in
Based anime producers calling out bullshit card desing
Will silver thorn even be a thing outside of standard?
>have one of the most bullshit cards in the format
>punishes people going first
>punishes people going second
>for both over and under extending
>deck has several cards that benefit from it
>still can't top a tournament to save its life even vanishing from teams which was the only place it had any success
It's bullshit countered by the universe's own bullshit
Will it work with American Emails?
They sent one to confirm the registration so it should
There's still the chance of someone uploading the closed beta APK and if we get in all we need is the email address we applied with
>mfw this season thinks its hook deserves the same atention as legion mate's
>legionfag trying to start shit
>oh boy I sure care when kourin goes missing, different when it was aichi, the main character that went missing in legion mate
Kourin missing at least had bearing on the plot prior. The Aichi mess was random bullshit
the issue is giving NG like 4-5 counterblast is they can just kill you faster than you can kill them
>Having a shit 50 episode season for 1 good plotline
Oof
That's just one matchup though and Nova Grappler has relatively low turnout at events.
>Inb4 its just BT
Narukami has a strong matchup against BT on paper but then hand size comes into play.
All the aggro in the world can't help you if you have no way to guard if they rebound
Naoki finally did a ride chant. I'm proud of him.
>FREE 22k crit 3 vanguard with no restrictions
>Cb 1 discard one for frontrow wipe, with the OPTION of moving stuff forward, not even mandatory
>not 1/turn
Gauntlet buster is as bad as Bermuda and I am genuinely losing interest in standard over the insane amount of powercreep these last few sets have.
And even with that, Natukami is not doing anywhere near as well as it should since the Discard 1, outside of phoenix, actually hurts the deck.
Also, the opponent just needs to guard Gauntlet and the rest of the fight is easy.
So what's the best build for Kagero ATM?
Prices should drop a bit considering it's not longer the second best deck in the format?
>The Chad Naoki
>The Virgin Ibuki
>Prices should drop a bit considering it's not longer the second best deck in the format?
user, I......
>RP gets gancelot
>OMG SO BROKEN HE MAKES BB A VANGUAAAARD???!?!
>Deck underperforms
>OMG GBD is LITERALLY perfect for narukami
>Deck fails to top even twice outside of teams
>DORITOS will END accel clans
Ok guys this is getting out of hand
How though? it destroys any field reliant deck and they have Accel 2 to patch up hand issues and overall they have everything a deck has to succeed?
People have spent the past few weeks trying to figure it out to no avail. Consider it Vanguard's current biggest mystery unless everyone learned the secret sauce on how to deal with it
>then hand size comes into play.
surprisingly GBD discard cost really does hurt even when Accel 2 and iirc theres like no card advantage outside of Rising Phoenix who only really offsets costs at best.
Narukami dabs on lower tier clans but the tier 1 clans can just refill their field as quick as you can destroy it, except you're discarding cards to do it too, so Accel 2 doesnt really help as much.
Nova Grapplers for example dont even need to maintain a field because they can do all their shit in one turn with 2-3 cards
You're correct. They have 0 advantage and going Accel 2 already chops at their offensive power
Imma need a looping webm of Aichi humping Naoki
And as of this episode we have exactly 65 episodes of V. The same number of episodes in just season 1 of the original. It's crazy when you compare the amount of content V covered in 65 episodes.
Not surprising seeing how rushed it was
I tried
what does it feel like to have Aichi's chest pressed against the back of your head?
*ahem*
His just an force card in a non force clan with no card advantage
Because V will do VG's whole history in 150 episodes
Can we really call it the "whole history" if things are massively different?
different is a weird way of spell rushed, but sure
>AL4 saga completely different
>Asia Circuit changed from teams to one big singles tournament
>entire LJ arc overhauled now featuring that guy from the movie
>Legion Mate jettisoned
>new prequel story that is sure to change the untold part of the timeline
>not massively different
You also forgot Void isn't even a thing in V.
>Legion Mate jettisoned
I feel like I want to rewatch Legion Mate because I cant remember anything that fucking happened
Oh yeah, how could I forget about Void. It being gone also lead to a completely different origin for PSYqualia changing how we look at the phenomenon while also adding lore to the world at large
>>AL4 saga completely different
it cutted a bunch of character's from early S1 and their fights, and aichi going dark is cut.
>Asia Circuit changed from teams to one big singles tournament
Asia circuit, just like NWO in general is completely cut, with only Leon making appearances that rely on you knowing him from older seasons
>entire LJ arc overhauled now featuring that guy from the movie
They did the messiah movie as a side plot of LJ, taking away the best part of both leading to an udnerwelming result
>Legion Mate jettisoned
Another cut arc, at least it's replacement has good episodes, that's more than what I can say for V's other arcs
>new prequel story that is sure to change the untold part of the timeline
It's a gigantic nothing burger aside from shin changing decks right now, dont jump the gun
>not massively different
It is massively different, but that's because it cut a lot of shit
Don't. I just finished rewatching it a couple weeks ago and you can really distill everything major that happened into 12 episodes. It's just constant jobbing from Kai and the gang until they get on the MOON, then the purple haired guy tries to use Link Joker to take over the world but gets stopped followed by a final fight with Kai and Aichi where Kai reciprocates his gay feelings for Aichi. Honestly only the last episode was kinda enjoyable. Everything else feels like a slog.
You're going under the assumption that they are trying to match the original story, but they don't want to spend the same amount of episodes on it so they "cut" stuff. But the fact of the matter is that they are just making a different story entirely. If you look past the structural changes in the story, you will notice the biggest difference is the changes in character backstories, personalities and development. There's just too much that is different that you can't say they "cut" stuff because it's not even close to the original story anymore.
I was surprised at how much jobbing there was in Legion Mate considering how many god damn training arcs there were and then they still lose, and then Kai lmao 4 crits Aichi
>Kai and Aichi where Kai reciprocates his gay feelings for Aichi.
>Legion and Mating Press
they couldn't be less subtle about this if they tried desu
Maybe it's an inside joke about how silly training arcs are in card game anime. G NEXT even disregarded the training and showed the guy staying up at night browsing the internet for guides on how to play their deck
Saying Gancelot is broken is really just full retard though. Cards that ask for field consistency and then don't search for the cards required are known to be bad. Especially when retirement is an incredibly big meme.
Gauntlet is understandable because it's one of those cards that takes a shit on the counter blast mechanic which is really something that Bushiroad needs to address soon. The "I don't want you playing the game" aspect of Vanguard is getting absolutely tiresome
Vanguard has always had this issue:
>Limit Break damage requirements
>Legion
>Generation Break
If there is a way to lock people out of something it will be tried.
Damage denial isn't even the most offensive of these though. The only way to fix it is to either make cards more reliant on soul(which has its own issue), more out there requirements/"costs" or a new resource pool
I'm pretty happy where they settled with Standard desu
>Gifts are given on ride
>big abilities are persona soul blast or having g3 in soul
>rear guards actually do shit now instead of being gb restricted
Next week is the last time we'll see Kourin's manly chest. Say something nice about it
>You're going under the assumption that they are trying to match the original story
No, I assume they want to tell a good story using the original as a baseline, but sabotage thenselfs by cutting important stuff
>If you look past the structural changes in the story, you will notice the biggest difference is the changes in character backstories, personalities and development.
Aside from Ren getting an additive retcon and literal shock value gloves there wasnt a lot of backstory changes.
And in terms of character, well they turn Kai into the emotional center of the AL4 arc while making aichi the plot device maker that wins in the end, so I cant say it improved, aside form a better ride chant I guess.
Again, ibuki is still the same but now his plotline happens at the same time as Link Joker, AL4 is literally the same aside from Ren.
and the list goes on, Ultrarare is the same, so is the rest of the supporting cast, everyone is either the same(the card capital cast and Ibuki), the same but worst due to rushed pacing(people like AL4 and Leon), or just flat worst(rest of NWO, the LJ plotline).
Put that up with the super serious so fun allowed that the series got after episode 8 and we get a show that doesnt do anything
I agree. Standard had the right idea with handling gatekeeping player power without completely leaving them out to dry
just need this years wave of clan updates to come out so the rest of the clans get more depth. I want Megacolony to feel like Megacolony again
It says a lot when the card in standard megacolony that feels the most like megacolony is a promo that never came over. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come in wave 2
I'm just happy Mega Colony has like 3 counter chargers already and all of them are decent/good. That way if the new support is counter blast heavy we'll be gucci
The thing is I don't really think the stuff you're saying they cut sabotaged anything.
In the original s1, the goal was to showcase a new card game giving an in-depth, technical, and realistic take on it. That's why that season needed a TON of fights and why there were multiple shop tournaments, regional tournaments, national tournaments and training arcs. It was all about the cards and cardfights. V doesn't care about the cardfights or the cards opting to instead focus on the characters more. The theme of V s1 was finding out what VG means to each person and using that to build connections between characters.
Asia Circuit being cut did nothing. Void doesn't exist in V, none of the main clans got "locked" up and people didn't lose their memories of them so there's no central conflict. Sure Leon was important in that season, but V has not bothered to establish his backstory or give him a real purpose other than being a mysterious figure who's a plot device. It doesn't really hurt V's story because Leon is not really tied to any of the central plot points.
For the Zombie arc, I actually think incorporating Ibuki into it helped it a lot. I was never a big fan of the Reversed Kai. It didn't seem like it was a well written heel turn and felt forced. As such, he did not make a compelling secondary antagonist. Ibuki is a new character so you don't have to deal with the struggle of writing proper motivations for an established good character to turn evil. Ibuki also has a more expanded character arc compared to the couple of minutes he got in a rushed, short movie. Other than that the basic plot beats were the more or less the same as LJ but they didn't need to waste time focusing on irrelevant side characters get reversed for drama. Cutting Reverse actually did hurt though, it's more interesting than zombies.
Legion Mate was a very forced season that absolutely does not affect V in being cut. Recreating that season in V would just destroy the whole story.
The deck just needs some nice stunning now or Gredora style resource stealing
good thing we're getting Cyclomatooth back, the OG King of Vanguard stunning. Although I swear to god if they keep this power drain gimmick which is just jacking Shirayuki...
Probably going to be like Blademaster
[CB1, SB a G3] Stun opponent's board and gain power
What was even the point of Legion Mate in the first place? It doesn't even feel like it fits in with the prior seasons
We really need bushi to stop thinking that retires are a plus for you
So Aichi defeated Void and stopped the evil Link Joker from spreading Reverse and taking over the planet at the end of Link Joker arc. Everyone was happy and peace was restored.
Now LM starts. But wait. It turns out Void didn't die but was simply turned into a "seed." This seed has the power to recreate the Reverse phenomenon again. So Aichi takes it upon himself to seal that seed inside him and somehow was able to build a base of operations on the moon to essentially lock himself up there while enlisting the help of some literal who's to protect him so no one abuses the power of LJ. Oh and everyone's memory of Aichi disappears because fuck you we need to create some forced drama.
This reads like the summary to some really bad "after the end" fanfiction
I hope we get more mech bug nazis
That’s basically what it was.
"Retiring removes one card from the opponent bringing you up one in card advantage" - Bushiroad
They kind of are, main problem is that retires are usually costed higher than pluses and they reach diminishing returns earlier.
Retires are balanced around the idea of being able to remove high value targets without the opponent being able to guard them.
The issue is that:
>Most HVTs are Vanguard circle only
>Those that aren't are still ran at 4 copies
>If there's any drop zone recursion your retire is wasted
Man this fight was literally carried by the Great Daiyusha sequence and JAM PROJECT song. It wasn't as technical and intensive as I remembered it was. I don't know why Ren didn't have a PG ready or something, and it just came down to 1 trigger. But I guess most people assumed Ren would win which is why they were surprised when Koutei won. The fight itself was kinda basic though, not too much going on.
>Aichi disappears because fuck you we need to create some forced drama.
Aichi disappeared because they needed Kai to be the MC so he could redeem himself for LJ.
Based reviewn bro
Dont forget stand your field, sinse that matters a lot
>more out there requirements/"costs" or a new resource pool
Like what?
I guess things like Blademaster, which need both Wyverns on field to use his ability
So is Kourin for Aichi or Naoki.l?
Naoki moved her more so probably him.
