Haven't watch it yet, but from what I understand they either cut out characters like fox girl despite her playing a certain role, as well as removing some(all?) Interaction between ohma and the others that shows their softer nicer sides which is what made them likeable instead of generic mob mini bosses. Am I right or did someone just exaggerate to shit on it?

It was shit. But I feel they probably made more content that what they showed, there are some odd cuts where the characters interaction come that feel they forced to edit out more than they never made them.

I kind of miss the time when cg was limited to vehicles or planes and shit. It feels less jarring than cg characters.

This is the adaptation quailty I expected Vinland Saga would get.

Kaburagi's role can be easily replaced and Kaede can do Rin's stuff. I'm more mad about no Suoh desu but they're not exactly integral

They also cut out a character who is integral for the series only actual villain downfall who also gives us the audience a precedence for a later character "Cheating".

not him, but kengan asura definetly has better cgi than baki,at least in the fight scenes things look more fluid, but baki didnt used the same amount of cgi, they put alot more animation in the mix specially when character talked to each other (wich was the right call)

CGI is a cancer on anime

Mecha is really the only genre with any ability to be consistently good with CGI, because mechanical objects faire much better than humans do with it. A big part of it is because of faces specifically.

That's the netflix bingeshit effect. Like who the fuck remembers AICO or B the beginning? You dump it al at once and you don't get that sense of community from coming back every week to talk about the latest episode.

There are some non mecha ones that look good though. Etotama was a complete goddamn shock. Fuck, I think that half the problem with CG is how little the animators focus on things beyond the models.

You just have to look at OP's image to find one that's far far worse. The biggest issue with early CG was just sloppy digit paint. Now we're getting full series that look like something rooster teeth would shit out.

Every instance of CGI in Baki looked horrendous. At least they barely used it

The CGI was a turnoff for most, but my personal issue was the amount of stuff they cut out of it.
I also think Netflix's way of posting every episode at once for binging deprives its shows of the episodic discussion that gives anime its longevity.

Including Omega, Kengan's around 30 volumes long - Grappler Baki, which was like that in tone too, was 40 volumes long, it's only from New Grappler Baki/Son of Ogre onwards that it got crazier.

Kengan has it's fair share of esoteric stuff that I feel will get more focus in Omega too. Namely Release, whatever Worm is trying to do, and the Gu Ritual. I'm 99% the masked fighter we saw in that intro scene of Omega will be subject to the Gu Ritual too, his mask had a centipede motif on it.

This looks awful. I can't tell if its just poor art direction from CG teams but I can't see what the fuck is going on here and its a common theme in CGI. Everything is done blindingly fast or stutters along at 15 FPS
