The WN translation didn't always seem the best from what little I could tell, so it's hard to know how much is translation differences and what is changed content. From what I just looked at, the LN makes it seem like they got interrupted before they got beyond kissing, while the WN makes it seem like they were having sex. Whether accurate or not, I certainly prefer the idea they had the others find them having sex instead of just kissing.
