Pardon me I meant minako. I mistakenly used the name they gave her in my country's dub.
Well, she's easily the best of them all. Not saying I dislike the others, but Minako simply resonates with me more than any of the others. She's fun, witty, shares a few interests with me. She's also really dedicated to her friends and deeply cares for people, instantly connects with them.
And she looks great as well. What's not to like about her?
(Maybe your dub misrepresented her personality? I know that several Sailor Moon dubs messed up many of the characters.)

I in general like the shows that are a more surreal, psychological take on a classical genre. Just as Eva was for mecha, Lain for cyberpunk, Maxx for capeshit, Torment for rpgs etc. Of course there are tons of those, often mediocre and with good reason forgotten to time, but Utena happens to be among those better executed ones. I love the theatrical direction, the puzzle-like narrative, the last arc is probably the strongest last few stretches in an anime ever with just a powerful story and imagery. The soundtrack mixing choirs and rock is great. I also love the whole network of character relations, the show basically explores as many types of interactions between different types of people imaginable, with a really fun, inspiring but also deeply flawed, and thus interesting protagonist at the center. I often value anime for how it explores a message even if I don't necessarily agree with it (Angel's Egg, Casshern, Lain to a degree) but Utena happens to be one of those shows where on top of the execution I did actually agree with the message and it resonated strongly with me. Favorite character is Utena herself. One of my favorite anime characters in general.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the humour is an underrated aspect of Utena. Yeah, the direction and character drama is it's main strength (especially from the BR arc onward), but it's also a masterpiece of deadpan and dry humour.
