Finally battle next month.
bumpu
But that goes the same for Nino doesn't it.
Oh shit, is she finally gonna do it?
I think it will be hard decision and she will miss with first shoot and it will cost someone's life or at least some points, but then she will earn some points.
Can't wait to see Chika obliterating someone.
based canadian making use of meeden shitters
Next chapter
I dunno about having Osamu call the shots. Seems like it's just holding Chika back now that she's finally able to shoot.
Now that's what I call a cosplay.
That's how it always been.
panties dropping
>Osamu
>delivering the killshot on Nino
If this actually happens I will shit all the bricks out of my body.
> I've been in Border longer than Jin!
Konami is cute.
Guaranteed 10/10 commentary incoming.
Usami booty.
End of chapter.
Final battle hopefully starts next month.
Kuga's response here basically confirms that he already got asked to comentate offscreen and I'll never get to see it.
>Guaranteed 10/10 commentary incoming.
It will be fun
You have to believe to make it happen.
Thanks for dump, user. It was great chapters
Osamu will be taken out without achieving anything like usual.
Chika about to but a cap in some fool.
new spread incoming - what terrain will it be next boys?
Come on, he's trying to make it easier for her.
You can see she's still not thrilled about shooting people even when she decided she'll do it.
This way Osamu carries part of that burden.
>Ninomaru
Heh.
Forest please.
Hyuse overlooking the forest or I will riot.
This is a surprisingly relevant observation from Osamu. Even if he himself gets knocked out in the next battle, as long as someone says to Ninomiya "you fell for the bait, just like Osamu predicted", then the salt will overflow.
>t. Ninomiya
Osamu is gonna pull off some sick stunt that will make the end of the Invasion arc look like a fucking tutorial. Mark my words.
Can't chika just link up with someone and give him trion?
Shit now I'm pumped and it's going to be a loong month.
Thanks.
At least one chapter will be devoted to the usual pre-match stuff with the teams preparing, the map being revealed, and the initial commentary.
What is pic related? It’s not included in Manga Plus so it’s not a color page but it’s not a cover either.
He'll die for real from a simulation?
Linking is an emergency measure and not meant to be used normally. When they did do that back in the invasion arc, it fucked up Osamu's trion and he wasn't able to even form a cube afterwards.
Yes she did that with Osamu when they were rabbit hunting during Afto invasion but I don't think it would be useful in rank wars, would probably make them big target and slow to dodge if they had to stick together.
It would be fun and cute if someone big like Reiji carried Chika like backpack for extra power.
It's a small poster of sorts that comes with this month's physical copy of Jump SQ.
Bonus for Jump SQ
twitter.com
>that will make the end of the Invasion arc look like a fucking tutorial
That left him almost dead though.
What if T-2 fails to join the expedition, Kuga, Hyuse and Chika get drafted, and Ninomiya becomes the protagonist?
I'm guessing it'll be the inverse, he'll be on the brink of bailing out but manage to survive the round
Osamu would hitch a ride with Galopoula and be branded as a traitor by Border. Punished Osamu arc.
Is it packaged inside the volume? I would like to hunt this down in my country if possible.
Is it really punishment when losing is all he does already?
>It'll work
>i think
Don't count your chicken before they've hatched, Osamu
>he even dons the suit
He truly is a method actor
Your country publishes physical volumes of Jump SQ? Dunno if it'll be in there but it's definitely packaged in the Japanese magazine.
Don't know about it, but mb someone who bought magazine in Japan can send this bonus to you
Probably not but it has WSJ.
The entire point in forming Tamakoma 2 was to go to the Neighborhood as a team, so failing to reach that goal would be pretty devastating for them. If it wasn't the case then Yuma could've taken up Kako squad's offer to join their squad and Chika wouldn't need to apply herself because she already has a guaranteed spot on the ship.
Unless your country includes WT in its Jump lineup then you're out of luck since it's not a WSJ title anymore. Maybe the image will be included in the next volume in some way.
you mean it would subvert your expectations?
Star Wars and Game of Thrones died from MUH SUBVERT EXPECTATIONS, it's time to stop pretending it is inherently a good thing.
It was great the first time because it drove home a point and made for some great development, but doing it a second time would be total overkill.
This is the part of the story where the protagonists are supposed to make their big comeback after failing to overcome their wall of a rival the first time.
Subverting expectations, just like deconstruction, became a meaningless meme term a while ago thanks to shitposting and people that don't bother looking the actual definition.
There’s no real real way to make Osamu go nuclear convincingly. This manga has been very realisitic about personal growth, and Osamu being all head and no muscle as he is, him sneaking off to the neighborhood and suddenly being all competent is weird
>inb4 tranining arc
It what happens when a story builds up to something but the opposite happens instead, right?
I'm too much of a brainlet to know what "deconstruction" is but it sounds somewhat pretentious.
>We've waited a month for those chapters
>Thread won't reach 100 replies.
This is sad.
>buildup chapters of a sports manga
>getting any replies on Yea Forums
You don't know how good you have it.
With Chika's obsession of putting herself in danger to protect others I could see her become a train enhancing black trigger.
Obviously in the shape of a backpack.
There's not really anything to these chapters, no new reveals or interesting action. Compare to last time, where we had brown tomboy and gunslinger Yuba. I don't dislike it, but there's not really much to discuss.
People can't seem to tell the difference between a good and a bad subversion.
A good subversion comes from delivering a reasonable outcome that's different from common tropes, just like Ned Stark dying, which made sense but was not something one would expect out of a medieval fantasy story.
Lately instead we get shameless baiting with twists that either make no sense or render other past events meaningless. Just look at star wars.
I thought people liked the new Star Wars movie because it was progressive or something like that.
Personally, I can see them winning and making it to the expedition, but then there's a catch. Just like how in the invasion arc they were able to save China in the end, but they still lost a bunch of C-rank trainees and Osamu almost died.
I have a feeling the rumor that Hyuse is a neighbor is going to catch up to them, one way or another...
When did canadian got so humble?
The deadbet senseo finally shows up.
Funny how hyped Yuba was last month, but their strategy for dealing with him in this chapter boiled down to "let's just kill the brown girl and stay out of Yuba's range" before spending most of the time focusing on Ninomiya.
She said she would shoot, not that she can, one panic shot and they are all fucked
Hopefully someone got all the chapters and reuploaded them somewhere else.
Hyuse still salty.
WT homo doujins are god tier desu
I am hyped
I wanna see Nino sperg
NO NEW CHAPTERS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 3!
>I am gonna make the invasion look like a fucking joke
>"guaranteed to be undefended"
This is tripping me up.
During the Black Trigger Capture Arc, Izumi goes full Attack and then shifts to Full Guard as soon as Satori shoots him
So why couldn't Nino try to do the same thing? He shows he has the reflexes to stop Ema's Egret with a Shield in Round 4, so what's preventing him from doing what Izumi did and shifting from Full Attack to Full Guard in response to any retaliation? Popping a basic Shield up seems to require the same speed and reflexes.
Ikoma barely got a mention.
As prideful as he is Hyuse takes his fights seriously.
Ofc, SQ out once in month
After getting BTFO in the match with Azuma, he's likely revised his expectations of their opponents upwards. Better to be more pessimistic and kick ass, than to be optimistic and get your ass kicked.
Wouldn't work against 2 opponents at once.
Which is what Osamu wants to achieve.
why is Canadian so based
It may be that while you're shooting you can't switch mid-shoot? I remember in that page, Izumi had the bullets "out" but wasn't "using" them. I think they're trying to catch Ninomiya while the bullets are being shot. (Pretty short time frame.)
Just guessing.
Satori himself says Izumi was baiting him into revealing himself.
And in this very chapter is explained that Nino keeps his guard up when he is unaware of the enemies' supports. Plus Osamu is taking into consideration that Ninomiya has a grudge against Tama2 which will make him lose his cool.
Izumi was just baiting it, so he was ready to switch immediately.
He had the cubes out but he hadn't divided or fired them yet. I'm assuming that that would be the point of no return.
>Ninomiya has a grudge against Tama2
What did T2 do to piss in his corn flakes? I thought he was only mildly irritated at Osamu's guts.
Out of curiosity has anyone here ever actually successfully predicted any of the strategies in this series? I feel like it's grounded enough logic-wise to the point where you could probably "predict" what characters might do and get it right.
Everybody called the blackout in the last match and T2 shitting all over Katori and Kakizaki squads a few years back.
Nobody saw Osamu switching the Chika cubes at the end of the invasion coming because nobody was reading it at the time.
Nino's waifu left him for Chika's brother. Incidentaly that is the very reason T2 is looking to get into the expedition ship.
Also Nino used to have the biggest trion level until Chika and Hyuse joined.
Also also all of his high-level buddies are becoming tama2's fanboys, he really don't want to lose to them.
hallellujah you smug bird loli
If he dislikes Chika by association and trion then he's even pettier than Miwa
People keep bringing up how similar Chika and Hatohara are. Nino might not directly dislike her but he's still human, it's not a single thing but when you pile up everything together even Nino can't keep his cool and Osamu noticed it, he has a chance to shake Nino and wants to take it.
It's not hard when the pre-battle chibis tend to be frighteningly accurate depictions of what ends up happening during the fight
Fucking Konami.
Basically they need to make sure Tsuji and Inukai are busy/out of the picture first, THEN let Nino go full autistic terminator mode and Osamu will take him down with Chika. Which honestly only works if they can deal with Yuba squad not jumping at them in the meantime.
>t.
>cubes
Based on the last chapter, I think T2 is going to bait Yuba and Nino into softening each other up before kill stealing Yuba from Nino. Or better yet killing Yuba before he can get that Nino point.
I like Karasuma, I feel like he gets the least respect out of Tamakoma.
Nah, the Tamakoma seniors all get a massive amount of respect. Except for Konami.
I mean, more in the sense of "respect by the writer". I feel like half the time Ashihara doesn't do as much with his character as he could, so he kind of blends in with Reiji except Reiji is arguably more interesting.
There was a time when Karasuma got a lot of flak because his training regimen didn't seem to do jack squat for Osamu during the first Nino match, but now that the dust has settled I think most people can agree that Osamu was the one who was biting off far more than he could chew.
>Nino is actually emotional
I mean he does sit around building cute snowmen
>the wires remind him of Hatohara
>the pacifist sniper reminds him of Hatohara
>the two Canadians remind him of Hatohara
>Osamu yelling "Your pigeon waifu is shit" reminds him of Hatohara
The World Triggering is upon us.
who ready for based wireman
>Osamu deal the final blow to Nino and say: "unlike you I won't be left behind by my teammates"
Are they still doing the wire strategy or are they abandoning it in favor of blitzing the other three teams for more points? They didn't even bother bringing it up in this chapter
They're probably not doing everything entirely around Osamu's wires, but he did mention that he'd have more opportunities to use it next round, so it's likely that he'll be using the wires still, just not making it a focus.
They did, very brieflyAnd it costs practically nothing even on a trionlet like Osamu, so i dont see why they wont do it
Its not like he can swap into another, more trion intensive weapon or will him?
He always achieves something tho. It's strange how people shit so much on him when he can hold out against top fighters for a long time.
Because his character progression is a bitter pill to swallow when you're used to your shonen protagonists powering up and kicking ass every fifty or so chapters. It's more fun to see them defeating the bad guys instead of simply "holding out", which is usually reserved for side characters so that the actual MC looks cool when he arrives on the scene and wins. In fact I've seen some people complain that his character development sucks because he's still weak and hasn't gotten gud yet.
But most importantly, it's because bullying Osamu is fun.
Well except for his head Osamu have absolutely nothing else. Other trionlets can compensate with athletic skills amd fighting capabilities, but our poor guy just doesnt have enough time for a training montage
Make for an interesting MC when paired with an “i always win” monster like Kuga tho
I've waited literal YEARS for Godsamu to awaken.
Thats the reason but people's reasoning still shouldn't apply to Osamu. He practically soloed the rank 9 team killing Rokuro before Kuga came back.
Does anyone have the latest shown rank wars rankings?
That happened years ago so they probably forgot about it.
konami commentary?
well its confirmed its best match boys
fair enough
Osamu is still low-tier in border but once he gets isekai'd he's gonna style on the neighboors.
I think there's an updated one in the chapter after this but it's missing from my collection for some reason
Konami is great
Imagine being Nino and having your ugly-looking no-self confidence waifu cuck you with some trionless fucker.
>Can transform into other people's uniform
Funny fanart inc
>implying Rinji wasn't a total Trion chad
It would explain everything.
He's still great, but it doesn't feel like Kuga is the win machine that he used to be ever since his moveset was nerfed and his opponents kept getting stronger and smarter as they went up the rankings. It's like I'm reading Nougami Neuro all over again.
>You don't have to outrank Ninomiya
>You only have to outrank Kageura
I want that thing
oh, really?
I don't really want Jump SQ but that is tempting
Thank you.
Do know anything about the lower ranked ones? I would like to see if any of the other teams who fought against T2 improved
>The team ranked higher at the start of the season gets priority
What would be the reasoning behind it?
Take T2 for example. Shouldn't a team with such improvement take advantage over a hard-stuck team?
>people complain that his character development sucks because he's still weak and hasn't gotten gud yet
I don’t like using this term lightly but he is a legitimate pleb filter
Talk is cheap, I wonder if she can really do it.
watch out niggas
I really want her to just obliterate Ninomiya at the start of the match.
Fucking IMAGINE his smug ass just vaporizing within 30 seconds
Well done, Glasses, the old you would have tried this just to try and be useful.
and keep in mind she can only do that once, because everyone will expect it afterward
By the way I appreciate how Ashihara immediately shows Yuuma's eyes to prove that she isn't lying.
Kitora gets to see this, too? Osamu definitely better make an impression or starter sensei will get mad at him.
he falls the fuck apart if he does that. Also his aim is garbage, Chika actually has excellent aim
Looks like a lot of A and B rank squads are dying to see how this match plays out. I hope Katori is in the stands too.
Hyuse has more trion than Yuuma? Even though Yuuma's in constant low BT-form?
Those horns are something else
>thinking "you need to be a dork, PLEASE BE A DORK
>this page
YES
Actually shouted that IRL
Yeah, with his BT, Yuma has the edge, otherwise Hyuse's horns are a lot better.
Torimaru is a huge retard, in general. Everyone at T2 is super chill.
Why wouldn't the team that was higher at the start of the season get priority? Yeah T-2 would have demonstrated major improvement, but tying with Kageura squad means that they failed to surpass Kageura squad. So why would T-2 get ranked above Kageura squad when they've failed to definitively prove they're stronger than Kageura squad?
Karasuma is the only one who's constantly busy being a third parent to a shitload of younger siblings.
Hyuse has a trion score of 18 while Yuuma has 7. In comparison Ninomiya has 14 and Chika has 38. There is no score on BT Yuuma but Jin jumps from his normal 7 to 37 when using Fuujin.
Osamu used to have 2 but nowadays he runs around with his bagworm active and constantly re-summons his Raygust so I'm assuming he's got 3 now.
>Osamu being the one behind him to take the shot
yeah right
Kitora sure is pretty
To reward the team for their efforts in the previous season. Kind of like how the NBA gives higher seeding teams the home court advantage during the playoffs.
In the Rank Wars the hard-stuck team at least gets to pick the map.
that's a perfect shop, user
World Trigger deserves some pottery every once in a while.
>pic
fucking kek
he's in love, Osamu
>Do know anything about the lower ranked ones?
No. I checked raws for volume 20 (which contains this chapter), but it don't contain full ranking table
oh fuck
The same could be said about Kageura. They failed to surpass T2. The only way to untie strength wise is to take progression into conideration
but for a mission with people's lives at stake, should you take the strongest possible team? Reason says the new team will get better. If it was the case of the new team being behind I would understand it. But tied, the only way to untie strength wise is to take progression into consideration
I love it, I love this series so much.
I've been pretty miserable lately but these chapters made me super happy. Laughed and smiled a lot. I really am glad it's back, for however long
I want the woods, I won't get them.
Osamu pls
It shouldn't stop now, it was wonky early this year because Ashihara had an operation and all, but he's fine.
Also despite having less pages, these chapters felt well paced. I wish he could fuck around this a bit and split them in different ways.
Kek. Who made this?
Nice falseflagging Kitora.
>people getting hyped for another big match with Ninomiya and Tamakoma
I swear, if we get another wall snipe.
It's amazing how tense this set up for the next fight feels, given how much people complain about stakes. World Trigger has ultimately done a good job building up all the character and skill development that's led to this fight, and that necessitated the kind of slow pace, even taking how long it was on hiatus, into account. The tension of whether Osamu, and Tamakoma, will finally be able to go toe to toe with Ninomiya wouldn't feel the same if he hadn't gotten all those other chapters.
Exactly. They've already lost to Ninomiya. It's time to prove themselves.
World Trigger is often unpredictable, but it still adheres to narrative satisfaction, and "dropping all the buildup with Ninomiya and the goal of the Neighborhood" would be damnably unsatisfactory.
>teased multiple times throughout the arc
>not getting it
It's a spider's natural habitat and a fitting backdrop for an ultimate showdown. If I can believe then you can too.
The consensus is thoroughly mixed.
I've got them, along with the other viz releases for WT, but I think I deleted all the archives so it'd take me a bit to rezip everything and I'm not sure if I'd have the space to begin with. I'll check on everything, but no promises.
Ashihara wouldn't dare, people want to see T2 succeed in beating Ninomiya.
Whether Osamu manages to get into the ship or he somehow ends up with galopulans is another story, but they are beating Ninomiya to a degree.
if you can put them all together, I can upload to madokami
>mixed
Retards liked TFA because it was "just like the orginal" in that it was a shameless ripoff of a reboot, classic JJ, while banking on future sequels to fix the cast.
TLJ is a legitimately poor space opera movie.
>Why yes I use Spidertraps
I'm vizanon. I'm not dead but there's no point (or ability) for me to get things.
Well, I guess I can grab the latest English volumes if nobody else has, because I think I know how to get those from elsewhere, but even then I currently need to hold off on spending.
>implying Osamu won't get a horn upgrade on Aftokrator
Personally no, I've always been surprised by something.
People were calling out Chika's meteora when Usami assigned the trigger on preparation chapter.
>upgrade
>extremely painful operation down on a feudal world that's probably underdeveloped as shit barring its trion technology
No thanks.
The total size of the VIZ volumes and chapters so far isn't even one GB, though only just by a bit. Give me some time to recompress everything and get a link up.
I think there was also some sort of guide book in the old archive too, right? The "BBF Scanlation?" It'll add another half GB, but I think I can hack that too.
Was that all? I should have everything, but I don't have it all in one folder so I don't recall if there was anything else.
Thanks, I just want the volume extras and there's always that other place that already has them translated.
People called it out, but no one expected it to go like it did.
It will be necessary to fight the final boss of the manga, Osamu's dad who is also the King of Aftokrator.
Why do people complain about stakes? It's funny, I think stakes is actually one of the better things Ashihara is good at because he manages to create them without relying too hard on stuff like "or everyone will die". The Invasion was tense as fuck all the way through just through hinging on the whole "change the future" thing and being faced with powerful and coordinated enemies.
chapters 180-183 are the only things I need, actually
BBF is entirely uploaded too
>O MY LONG LOST DAD
BBF
This series is one of the few where I actually like the Viz translations. I swear, almost every other series I enjoy has whoever was assigned to localize them for Viz do some stupid shit with them.
It's hilarious because
1) Death is actually the weakest threat in fiction, as it is rarely delivered on before the end, and if it is before the end/regular it is often a gimmick of the story.
2) Death happens in World Trigger.
3) The stakes in World Trigger are more than just risk of life, and ironically by removing MOST of the fear of death, every battle gets you thinking about what can actually possibly get lost and won, rather than empty threats of character death.
Yep, bigger stakes in fucking sport matches just never work.
Take Souma, for example, a series that went to absolute shit the moment the stakes forbade the MC from losing.
Whats if both Kageura and T2 shit on Ninomiya? could they get into the away mission and leave Ninomiya out?
Gross!
Yeah...
YOU WILL BE EXPELLED IF YOU DON'T WIN
... oh nooo, that sure is possible
Souma was such a fucking disasterpiece.
Ah well then, here's 181. I don't have 182 and 183, which just came out, and I don't even know if VIZ user himself released downloads. 181 you could probably even find with a quick archive search for VIZ user's downloads, but it's not like this was such a hard thing to make.
>mega.nz
I might throw up another mega of everything anyway, for those plebs who put off getting on to the goddess until it was too late. Like myself.
Because a lot of shonenfags have either never read a single sports manga in their entire lives or wanted more sci-fi alien invader action instead of e-sports.
Isn't Ninomiya strictly forbidden from away missions now?
Keked hard at this edit
It could have used maybe one or two more mini scifi alien arcs.
I mean, after this arc, it's the end of its e-sport phase and will use what we've seen on real battles for the rest of the manga.
Got 180?
I could upload to mega myself, but the last time I did I got in trouble for it, so I haven't hosted official English content since.
The overcooked stakes were one thing, but the real killer was how the manga had two potential underdogs to build up as well as a colorful cast of supporting characters, then went ahead and threw all of them into the trash in favor of completely retarded plot developments.
Bless Ashihara for treating his characters with respect. They're not the most quirky personalities out there but I still love them.
Oops, sorry, didn't notice you said 180-183
>mega.nz
cheers
Monthly reminder:
Nerf scorpion.
And nerf the shrimp
>Gross.
Kek.
I must admit Nino has good taste, putting his waifu on a suit.
What's with the pigeons imagery? She had pets?
Hato means dove. And she is a pacifist. Might be some intended animal motif.
Hatohara, hato=dove.
>we want to look like pros when fighting
>end up being the chuuni tryhard team
>Why yes, I will impregnate you and take responsibility, don't even worry about it.
We could've had the Boat arc in late 2017 if the hiatus never happened and Ashihara was able to operate on a somewhat weekly basis.
I'd love to visit that timeline one day and see how things turned out.
That's a timeline too good.
It's the same one where IG made the anime instead of the studio that must not be named.
>download everything from the thread
>double checking the borders/whitespace to determine if there are any extra pages that don't belong
>get here
Ashihara has gotten very used to digital. See, there's usually a white space given to the left or right of the page. This is for printing, so that when it's in a binding you don't lose any art or words. He goofed here, and two pages have the same placement of white space (left side)
here too
At least it's easy to fix for the future volume release.
No you don't the author was permanently crippled due to overwork and ended his series after using up the last of his strength to draw Round 7
t. parallel universe traveller who jumped to the best timeline to read the rest of the series
Just realized that this picture was unupdated too long and add new stuff pls redo this, my ph skills are to low
The other commentator need to be more serious to balance Konami, Miwa could be hilarious.
so 6 volumes are not animated.
hmmmmmmm
new season when?
Why are people still reading this trash. Even jump axed it. It dosent sell and no one is reading it. Just go away or I will report this thread for spam.
Report the thread, please
>volume 11
What a savage.
This one also need update, but I didn't find more pictures
>asks for a new season
>immediately posts the same obviously repetitive, low effort bait a few minutes later
>forgets to change tripcode
This series has the dumbest shitposters but it's almost endearing.
gotchu senpai
I love these a lot. Just, any and all characters completely fucking happy, even Ninomiya and Miwa
It's nice.
I love these sorts of things too
I also love how absurd his character bios are, in addition to he amusing author portrait twists on the volume covers. It's great to see an author have so much fun with his work and characters, even as the work itself can get more serious or dramatic.
Who is the 9?
Can't blame you for not recognizing him.
Probably one of my favorite things about this manga is how lowkey the cast is. It makes them feel realistically written what with how Ashihara doesn't bash you over the head with a character trait (save for maybe a few like Satoken and Ikoma) and actually lets you learn about their mindsets and how they operate in an organic manner. Osamu isn't just a great underdog, his altruism is written with a surprising degree of complexity (how he sees his goodwill as a selfish thing he does only for himself despite what everyone else sees) and earnest tact, and a lot of other characters have information behind them that isn't just spelled out for you unless there's a decent in-universe reason for that. Miwa's bits and pieces of character development are very nicely handled aswell.
Miwa is in the audience so it's probably not him. Murakami or Yuzuru could be cool.
Is it me or has Ashihara's art gotten cleaner? It's pretty much always clean but something about his faces in particular feel a little more readable.
I think Kazama was a good debut example of that. Introduced as cold and practical, shown to be extremely coolheaded and respectful once you get to know him a little better, and in extra material we learn that he's an absolute goofball with his friends.
Don't judge a book by its cover. Dude just has that permanent scowl.
Side note my WT knowledge is still kicking too damn well even after the hiatus: instantly remembered that his volume cover is 5. I blame Ashihara for writing such an easy to love story and cast
>decide to check out Ashihara's first work, Super Dog Rilienthal
Damn. It feels like there was definitely a lot of heart in it, but at the same time you can see why it didn't survive. His humor in particular is generally kinda flat, and even in World Trigger it's rarely ever particularly funny. Still though, I'd prefer unobtrusive, flat humor over obnoxious, constantly-shouting-at-the-audience humor.
I've really come to appreciate this style of characterization over the years. While I still enjoy nutty casts like the ones in the first half of Shokugeki, Saiki Kusuo, and Spy x Family, sitting down and reading something like this and Otoyomegatari is a real breath of fresh air. Just comes to show that characters don't have to have the most stimulating personalities in the world to be likeable as long as they're written well enough.
Anyone got any good World Trigger memes/OC?
>dat hyuse
Ashihara's Rilienthal humor bleeds into WT's character bios and a lot of other moments, but fortunately it isn't the focus of the series so it's not a huge deal if it a joke falls flat. You can treat it like an ordinary character interaction and go on with the story, whereas if a gag manga isn't consistently funny then it's basically dead in the water.
God I want Ikoma to senku Kogetsu me in half.
do you guys ever doubt if there are secret neighbor humanoid that may be already introduced character? especially in tamakoma branch who is able to use neighbor technology? some humanoid are even given japanese names and adopt into other japanese family.
Is this from that new Far from Home movie? I liked the first Spiderman Homecoming movie
But you don't look like eggplant curry.
You mean Konami?
Maybe Commander Kido is the secret neighbor.
I thought the same thing lol. You see how she dual wield katana at the age of 8? Dat girl ain't normal. Also Yotaro because he had side effect, meaning he has high trion and he is able to talk to animal.
Also what's with neighbor's world trigger named in greek? but kuga's homeworld has latin biblical theme name like Calvaria. Is author hinting that neighbors are actually mythology gods descendants? will there be a norse god's too?
Are edits OC? Because everyone needs this one
The anime sucks,
I feel sorry for anybody introduced to World Trigger by the anime, including myself who was scared off for years.
youtu.be
Never forget.
おおおおおおおおおおおおおおおお
>that version
Back to your containment board.
That was the first thing google gave me when searching "sunrise laugh", I plead non-guilty.
あああああああああああ
How the hell did this get approved
he's just there kek, like he was photoshoped in a picture of friends
>dragging out a two page spread for over 30 seconds
Every fucking time.
Was there much filler in the anime? World Trigger is one of those shows that could so easily have filler because of its expansive cast. Though I suppose a lot of the story is pretty tightly set up. Still.
Thanks for the dump, OP.
Some of it was nice, like Yoneya and cat girl going on a quest to retrieve Chika's trion cube, the idiot c-rank trio acting like hot shit, and Raijinmaru beating Osamu in a game of reflexes.
Unfortunately most of it was stupid: lots of drawn out scenes, that entire lazy filler arc with the errant nation, and Osamu figuring out how to beat Arafune squad by staring at a hill for 30 seconds. I regret everything highly recommend against watching the entire thing.
There was one cute scene where the Miwa snipers were trying to spy on Yuma while he did exercises with Raijinmaru the entire morning. Don't remember if it was already in the manga though
GONNA HAPPEN
Laugh it up while you can. That's what the face of a potential mastermind and future Border commander looks like.
Gotta love how everyone's like FUUUUUUUUU and Kikuchihara's is like "first time watching Chika do shit?"
Chika: I'm going to end everyone's rank career
>Tokieda
There's always at least one person in the audience who is used to Chika's stupidly high trion levels. It's my favorite running gag.
WT humor works from getting to know the characters. I laughed my ass off just because when Karasuma "played Ninomiya", he put on a black suit. I also found it funny how you can easily imagine the other half of the phonecall he has with Konami (you can even guess it's her before Osamu guesses for you). At times, it's genuinely fucking hilarious too. Character is one of World Trigger's greatest strengths (though to be honest, I'm not sure it has any one pillar or anything, it's just an all around fantastic manga. It's unbelievably good)
This was a great moment too.
Like fuck, this is perfect, and it works super well because of how we know Jin, Karasuma, Konami, and Hyuse all work. Jin DOES say stuff like that, Karasuma is a troll, Konami is gullible and hard on Hyuse, Hyuse is smug and bitter about Jin
and lest we forget
this one's event part meta-humor, poking fun directly at the manga itself
I’ll be honest, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
What did he do with all that money again?
>I'm not sure it has any one pillar or anything
The team battles are the biggest selling point in my opinion. It's harder to say "the characters are great" because it's a very general claim that can vary wildly with the tone of the manga and your personal tastes, whereas it's easier to describe the fights with examples.
Dunno about everyone else but that and the PV are what suckered me into giving the series a (second) shot. Nobody said a word about the characters, but then again the series was so young at that point.
youtube.com
And then I went on to watch the anime like a dumbass despite knowing it was Toei.
The battles are a selling point for sure, but I feel like the paneling for them was really bad for a while in the manga. Thankfully, the tactics carried them hard and it improved drastically later on.
Here, maybe this will jog your memory.
I don't think it's just personal taste. As opposed to something like Naruto, the characters are almost all significant and well-rounded, and it's a lot more than Naruto's cast even
Nope
Honestly? I thought Ashihara's paneling was always pretty good.
The team battles are definitely the selling point. A lot of people rarely even mention anything about the characters themselves, and I don't think it's because they're poorly written by any means, just because it's so focused on the battles and strategy that those things provide more of a talking point.
Well shit, I feel kind of old now.
Remember the round after their utter defeat against Nino/Kage/Azuma? The one where they stomped Katori and Osamu got two points despite everyone’s expectations? That’s what we’re talking about.
People kept saying that the glasses kid was the best underdog MC in recent history and holy shit they were right
Then I learned it was that same tactics manga that everyone kept praising and everything suddenly made sense
Oh I think I remember it now, wasn’t that the start of the wires and the opposing unit was led by a haughty bitch?
It’s really rare for the MC to win the popularity polls year after year for his series over the females and rivals but Osamu always comes out on top.
I remember that
his action and choreography are excellent too
Yes, that one.
Yup definitely remember now, thanks for jogging my memory.
Dunno enough about paneling to comment on it but the choreography is on point. When your battle system hinges on positioning and split second decisions where every movement counts it basically has to be.
My favorite one in recent memory is the one where Hyuse, Yuma, and Osamu took down Ko together. The kick that threw his blade off balance was fantastic and you could see the Raygust being seconds away from respawning in his hand.
I think it's more because of the idea that if Ninomiya has both attacker Triggers up, he's not expecting to be able to guard and so he wouldn't be prepared to react like he would if he had shield. He could ideally go Full Attack and be ready to switch to Full Defense, but that requires active awareness and the point of him going Full Attack is to erase the enemy, not play it safe.
Karasuma is such a good senpai.
My favorite one is still that fight underwater in the brigde map
Completely hectic, yet every moves was clear and beautifully sequenced
>What surprised me was that, just from the fact that: ‘Taichi thought up Suzunari’s plan’, ‘the stage is Shopping Mall’, and ‘the setting is night’, quite a few people got right that it was a ‘mall blackout operation’. World Trigger readers are sharp. Ashihara is the kind of manga artist who doesn’t really get bothered when future developments are guessed right, so I got quite excited.
>Besides that, what was interesting was that in regards to Murakami’s black Kogetsu there were people saying ‘has Lead Bullet’s effect been added to the Kogetsu?’ For some reason, the idea of Blade + Lead Bullet had never come to Ashihara, I thought ‘that’s really interesting!’ and was really moved. In the future, when they go on expeditions, I had thought it’d be pretty difficult to wave blades around enemies in human bodies, so a Lead Bullet blade seems like it’d be a good solution. If it does end up in the manga, people who advocated the Lead Bullet Kogetsu theory, please make a smug face that ‘it was my idea’.
Ashihara commented in the extras for that volume that when he looked online, he was pleasantly surprised to see that everyone pretty much guessed the blackout before it actually happened.
I was so happy when turning the lights off and on was used.
>Also Yotaro because he had side effect
He does?
I hope we learn what Amo's Black Trigger does on the expedition.
Too many character names for me to remember, whatever happened to the bitchy girl from the beginning of the manga? I don't remember seeing her in any rank wars.
Kitora? She appeared for the first 1/5th of the invasion, and ended up making some appearances throughout the Rank Wars. She was the one who suggested Osamu use Spider.
He can talk to animals, or more like feel what they are trying to convey
I enjoyed the anime, I feel like I am the only one
For a series to involve up to 5+ characters trying to fight each other on screen, muddy or confusing artwork could really kill all the fight scenes. But the shots are nice, compositions dynamic and have great perspective, lineart clean, and the action is smooth and very comprehensible and easy to follow. The backgrounds really help that too, but I don't know if I can give Ashihara credit for that since I'm sure he has assistants who draw BGs for him.
There's still some new triggers they haven't revealed yet that kazuma unit hasn't revealed which i'm looking forward to
Who is picking map this time? Ikoma?
on top of that, that also means he has high trion level at such a young age because only high trion user can develop side effect.
Yes.
They are gonna pick up something at random. Nino is gonna seethe.
>The backgrounds really help that too, but I don't know if I can give Ashihara credit for that since I'm sure he has assistants who draw BGs for him.
After so many manga which treat backgrounds as an afterthought, I appreciate the effort that Ashihara and/or his assistants put into consistently good backgrounds. It makes the action a lot more comprehensible.
Yuba is picking the map
Oh right. I forgot Kageura isn't included in the final round. My bad.
Daily reminder Hyuse hasn't used Viper yet
If you have both of your weapons out and you are actively aiming at someone, you get tunnel vision. It's not about him being unable to react, it's about him not noticing the attack.
Anyway I'm guessing it'll end up being a shitshow where Osamu and Nino ends up being the 1v1 scenario. Then Nino overextends and trips on a wire.
>Osamu and Nino ends up being the 1v1 scenario. Then Nino overextends and trips on a wire.
I now we're at least 2-3 months from anything like this happening, but I'm already laughing.
What the hell Yuzuru, that's the girliest face there.
I wonder if you'd be able to stall a Viper volley long enough with constant redirection to set up a delayed shot many seconds later? You could reposition and make it seem like a second person was firing.
I feel like Hyuse is going to come up with some very unorthodox way to use Viper that nobody has tried before since there are only so many trion monsters able to experiment.
YUZURU A CUTE
>please make a smug face that ‘it was my idea’.
Heheh
Smug dark Chikako does a thing to my trigger.
Praise allah soon
It’s been too long since someone tripped on a wire. It needs to happen to someone at least once before the Rank Wars end.
Sorry user, but the only things that were serviceable about the adaptation were the voice acting and the OST. The rest made it feel like a chore to watch.
Hell they couldn't even be assed to make an ED for the series.
Honestly glad rank wars is ending, I feel like alot of tension has been lost since deadlines to the expedition was introduced
