The modern generation isn't afraid to grow up, there just isn't a reason to do so.

You grow up to prepare for having a family, wife, kids, the whole thing. No one is doing that anymore, and the people that do start a family are miserable. So do you grow up for a job? Companies are having cafeterias and jungle gyms installed into their offices, so you never really leave that school environment either. Face it, the idea of being an "adult" and getting married is a worn out tradition, just like Fenneko states.
