One Piece is not that bad. To be honest Big Mom arc was absolutely stretched out a bit longer than usual and the anime ended up being bad on Fishman island due to Oda being sick for 3 months and barely able to do chapters of manga. But overall the series is still good. I find it funny most contrarians will criticize One Piece but not detective conan aka Case Closed which has not only not evolved in artstyle but also has stayed the same and is overall stale. Its still ongoing.

Bad comparison. Twilight was never good. One Piece has always been good even if you are more grown up and just hate things for not being what they use to be.

I'm reading ongoing Hajime no Ippo and got tired of One Piece about ten volumes in. I'm still invested in Ippo, OP felt like dogshit since page one to me. It's not about contrarianism, artstyle and "evolving", most of the time it's about liking the manga in the first place.

One Piece has gotten a lot worse since the timeskip. I don't think we've a single good arc since then, except maybe Zou, and that was a small one. It's only going to get shittier from here. I hope the sales dip significantly, to the point where Jump leans on Oda to finish it as soon as possible and at least the last few arcs won't be drawn out.

Gantz is one of the few mangas where you can easily notice that the mangaka didn't give a fuck about it anymore.

It should have stayed like Detective Conan, endless missions over and over again for over 900 manga chapters. Characters and main characters changing with time, bringing back fan favorite characters from time to time. It didn't need an ending, it didn't need a plot.

That is nostalgia talking user. The timeskip meant that things are going to be a bit more refined, detailed and not so many adventures, its going to be linear focus here and there.

Ironically sells have been rising, and One Piece is unstoppable at the number one spot of Shounen Jump magazine. It is so huge that essentially its on levels beyond Dragon Ball Z. So good luck in being cynical and trying to make me feel that way.

Agreed but it's funny when people say One Piece has been worse, and has not changed it has not evolved, the stories are not much varied anymore. It falls into peak nostalgia category. Detective Conan is just a good example to illustrate people who give double standards as they give that thing a pass while One Piece gets a lot of flack some of it is deserved like Big Mom arc but i do not see it as much different than what Oda usually does. Its a game of patience.
