No one has the courage to adapt a series that's "generic medieval fantasy isekai + specific flavour" and focus on the specific flavour anymore because playing it safe and pretending the cookie-cutter characters are interesting is more profitable.
I can't remember a single character's name in Knight's & Magic but I remember every Silhouette Knight's specs because they cared to showcase that and made me care as a result

I should probably read the LN version. Up to V2 is out I think.

The natives weren't dumb: the natives made their mecha from elven technology they couldn't fully understand as humans so the robots had natural limitations to optimize for production costs, mana consumption and battle resistence. MC-kun's new line started out as purely experimental, wasn't fully suited for battle and had to undergo massive reworkings from the actual R&D guys so they wouldn't burn out their mana immediately. It's only after he goes to the elves and applies his unique programming skills to their mineral that the mecha actually takes a generational leap in technology -same for the guy who builds the flying dragon.

Well, the current problem with isekai is that it's being inundated with 'otome isekai', which is set to pander to women and homosexuals, and that's simply not good. The overarching problem with isekai is that fails to produce the 'social femdom' that the high school setting did, for various reasons. That being said, isekai is and remains the best genre of anime right now, by and large, and the one least afflicted by women and homosexuals. Liam's conception of an Evil Lord is flawed at it's core anyway, he sees the actual corrupted houses like Ratel and Peetak as "righteous" noble houses so even if Amagi didn't reign him in he'd end up bumbling it and causing more misconceptions about how good he is anyway lol.
