Is it safe to say the highschool battle harem genre is dead?
Is it safe to say the highschool battle harem genre is dead?
It's only been a couple of years without one. And I don't even know what's popular in the shape of mangas light novels. But its moment of being the fad is gone for sure, yeah.
I'm afraid it's even worse than that.
It's not dead. It moved to isekai. We have battle harem in ANOTHER world.
Maybe. The real question here is what got lost along the way.
This. At least with isekai battle harems there's a chance for a wider variety of settings
even though there hasn't been so far
she looks at least 6 feet tall in this pic
I miss simple cohabitation harems. I feel like Rokujouma was the last one that was true to form
Is the albino glasses a guy or a girl? I can't tell.
The new frontier is stuff like Isekai Meikyuu where the protagonist actually has regular sexual intercourse with all members of their harem.
She's supposed to be slightly taller than him but they make her huge to fit as many details as possible into her design.
There was Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism recently
That only makes it better doe
Tall women is where it's at.
Not completely but it definitely is not famous anymore, now we wait for the possibility of Kuji Masamune's new novel to get an anime in a couple years.
I'm pretty sure she's canonically a giantess.
I love Kuji Masamune for keeping it alive, what a great author!
I miss battle harems so much.
Strike the Blood is alive and well
Same, also, cover of Hangyaku-sha will be dropped next weak.
>She's 5 foot 8 (172 cm)
WTF? I had no idea she was so tall and I read the manga! Well I did before releases in the US started to slow down to a crawl.
Who?
w-what else is alive and well user
We're treading into slave harems as well, which are the comfiest
Sorry user I made a mistake, Hangyaku-sha cover is already out.
I think otakus just stopped buying them. There's ony so much shit you can accumulate from increasingly derivative schlock.
And Isekai is better because?
Someone should write an isekai aristocrat high school battle harem where slaves are permitted for noblesmen.
Definitely not love.
this one probably killed it, or was the moment the pipeline started to dry up. it was a high budget big swing with A-1 hired as studio, and nobody bought it. scared everyone off.
Otaku never bought that many battle harem BDs to begin with retards. More like the genre got too much exposure from normalfags and they started shitting on it with their nonsensical buzzwords for having too many attractive characters in them and for being triggered by the harem aspects and scared everyone else off.
24 eps too
it's as dead as Mecha,
Isekai shit has taken over the industry.
Replaced with isekai shit
DxD?
Yes it's dead
That trio of battle harems coming out all at once and flopping killed it
>Otaku never bought that many battle harem BDs to begin with retards
Yeah that's why it died retard. It was a trend because of IS for a good while but too many of them flopped without increasing LN sales, culminating in the disaster that is Asterisk War.
Isekai, so far, doesn't have this problem. A fairly high (at least higher than battle harems) have been successful. Not whatever normalfag shit you think is the reason
Not harem IMO
Isekai have to go through so many steps to get an anime that they are much more "vetted", so they have their popularity even if the content is uninspiring.
It doesn't even have to be isekai, it could be anything posted to syosetu. But isekai is the easy mode to get Japanese readers to check out your story.
Fads rotate. So you can expect it to comeback.
Yeah fads rotate. Generally into a different fad
Or maybe authors jumped on isekai because it sells?
>novel licensed by yenpress
Do you blame normalfags for everything?
But it's true though, normalfag that watched anime start developing into ironic weeb the same way video game got taken over by starbucks drinking hipster around the indie boom.
Yes, what you say clearly describes the Japanese market for anime that dictates the direction of shows that are produced. Those damn Japanese Starbucks drinking hipster ironic weebs!
Touma still alive user
Will isekai high school battle academies be the next fad?
>kakao
Muh
Zero no Tsukaima
When's mystery coming back?
So, which Battle Harem LN (and not just the academy variety) has actually ended? I can recall Anti-Magic Academy, Hundred, and Masou Gakuen HxH. If you count manga, then Sekirei too.
Not tall enough
