It was a strange idea but I guess it's an attempt to try to get that particular audience to recognise the franchise. A lot of the primary audience for Precure probably wouldn't recognise Nagisa and Honoka as opposed to the characters in the series currently airing.

They really want to have the 2020 series as the main ambassador series however because with cross promotion with the Olympics they'd likely be forecasting a significant spike in merchandise sales for the series

I feel like this was an important episode that a lot of kids kinda needed. Shows like this are always like "we like you just how you are" but it rarely tries showing that self-loathing isn't something that just goes away because of a pep talk. Honestly, while the serie was good with some awesome episodes and some boring ones, I feel like the finale lacked something. Yeah, he wanted a perfect world without fights but the resolution felt weak. Cure Pekorin was overpowered as fuck, plz nerf. I finally got to see "the cake that saved the world", and it was even more silly than I'd imagine. The epilogue was nice, even more than the Maho one, every girl decided to follow their dream and we get a look of their dreams coming true (Adult Aoi is Hot as fuck), whole exchange of pic related felt like a kick on the feelings, and I like to think Elysio is watching over them. Still the main villain got away with almost everything but what can be done. It was my first time seeing Hana/Cure Yell on screen and I have to say I'll need to get used to that gratin voice. Overall great season, on par with Heartcatch but not better than HaCha/Maho. Now on GoPri or Smile (such is the time you ran out of seasons to watch).

Brand recognition is a pretty important thing, I think that's why Precure almost died during Yes5GoGo, the little girls that started with Futari Wa were growing up and the season didn't catch as much new viewers for being a sequel, however Fresh came and saved the franchise, plus by now you have little girls that started with Futari Wa in 2004 are already with kids themselves, which is maybe why Precure is on a constant rise of popularity in recent years (things like the Mahoutsukai movie being a massive hit are probably a factor too), the circle of life started for Precure in the same way it happens to Kamen Rider.

Because Hugtto had themes that are inherently tied to adulthood, like motherhood and jobs, while space is completely age-neutral. Being childish is the natural state of a show for little girls, so obviously that's what you get without any sort of pull in the other direction. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Do it, I started watching Rider after I finished all the Precure seasons, it takes a little time to get used to Tokusatsu, but after it happens you will really enjoy it.
If you want to watch in production order I don't really recommend the original season (1971), start with Kamen Rider Black or Kamen Rider Kuuga and then go up, alternatively just watch everything out of order.

Why only the crossover seasons? I've heard of people that start with Decade back in the day, but there's so much subbed seasons now that it seems like an odd choice, you just want to appreciate all the widely different suit designs I guess?
