I'm really happy to see kokoro no chizu mentioned so many times, its always been one of my favorites. Honestly hearing it on toonami a few years ago is what got me into one piece

I've never been much of a fan of the early OP's. We are is so amazing and iconic and took them them a while to get close to something as good. Honestly i have little to no memory of the 3 OP's in between we are and kokoro no chizu

There was this period where it seemed like anime songs getting raps was becoming a "thing" usually associated with poor dubbing. Also, it's 4Kids. People don't like 4Kids.

I think it's kinda nostalgic though I still wish they had stuck with the 4Kids version of We Are

I'm actually pissed off that OP 6 is the one which lasted the least episodes, yes? I remember it starts way before they get to Ennies Lobby and ends before Luffy goes Gear 2nd, it lasted like 12 eps or something. I remember being angry at the time because the OP didn't match the arc.

I love all but We Are remixes are they're inferior to the original in every way and We Can, which is just shitty sequel to the We Are.

But I still dislike talking about "the best opening" because up to the timeskip they were all equally good with some exceptions that suck.
Like, I got really hyped with BNW, but I also got emotional with openings 13 and 14 and I wouldn't be able to decide between those 2. Jungle P I've sang along maybe even more than to We Are. We Are is iconic.
Kokoro no Chizu is the one that gets me the most nostalgic as it remembers me Water 7 with the Strawhat crew at its peak beginning the most dramatic story of anime, but Bon Voyage also gets me equally nostalgic, they have that same "beautiful" feeling.... maybe because they revolve about Robin's suffering? Who knows.
Crazy crazy rainbow star I got pissed off because it didn't have any epic visuals but the song is catchy.
BELIEVE IN WONDER LAAAAAAAND I like it as much as We Are and it was my favorite as a kid because the opening change made me feel like the strawhats were progressing and the visuals are god tier. I'M REALLY REALLY STUCK ON YOU WOWOH.
Then there's the outliers Opening 11 and 12 which I found simply bad. And I still don't really forgive them. They sound and feel too different from the rest. But the rest are all great.
And after the timeskip they mostly suck and feel like soulless J-pop so I stopped caring, Hands Up is kinda nice though
