ITT: exceptional sakuga animación

Only the best of the best. No digital shit.

For some reason this feels like one of those interpolated artificial-fps videos, is it just me?

What is the difference between sakuga and "forced animation"?

>The characters aren't doing anything amazing but the camera is going nuts anyway
Their movements look fluid I guess but this looks tryhard and not impressive.

Good taste

>camera is going nuts
Where?

I hereby lift the digital ban. I simply wanted to bait the retarded Tetsuwan Atom 2003 poster who has neither watched the show, nor knows what good animation is and gets all his important off wikipedia/ANN. I've accomplished that faster than expected, so I expect some high quality Kyoto Animation WebMs now.

>Their movements look fluid I guess but this looks tryhard and not impressive.
>calls it fluid
>goes on to say it's not impressive
user is a absolute spaz

Work on your grammar and watch the show

Unlike you I actually have, so I am aware of its lackluster animation and the excessive amount of CGI support. Don't talk to me.

Nice try user, the animation's damn good and thinking that excessive cg makes it bad despite your supposed >high quality kyoani being absolutely riled with it is retarded

>the animation's damn good
Watch the show before talking. All 50 episodes of it.

I can say the same to you and do some research

>I can say the same to you
But you can't.
>and do some research
He says, citing Wikipedia, who cites ANN, who give A+ animation scores to barely animated anime.

>You can't
I just did
>Tetsuwan atom 2003 is barely animated
HAHAHAHA

sakuga is forced animation I like
forced animation is sakuga I don't like

Forced animation is a forced meme, for starters.

Holy fuck, this show is beautiful.

It's fluid, but at the same time jarring as hell. Feels like watching a poorly interpolated animation. Compare it to old Disneyshit and you'll get an idea why anime looks like it does and not like webm related.

Fluid≠good

Funny you say that as all of osamu tezuka's works look like old Disney shit and he's even a big Disney guy. Interpolation looks just fine to me, everything is smooth and concise which osamu tezuka's simple artsyle helps to convey

Forced animation's a meme. Sakuga's been sort of overgrown into any good animation whereas originally it was just a way the Japs described surprisingly well-animated portions of an anime, like you wouldn't EXPECT the sudden boost in quality.

Those aren't even the best shots from the show. But yeah, Astro Boy 03 is pure eye candy, which is ironic since the original show was so limited.

The show is poorly animated, that's really all there is to it. There's virtually no weight to the motion and the amount of fluid cuts barely hits double digits despite 50 episodes being available. Peter Pan no Bouken, a random WMT show released at the end of the 80s, was better animation all things considered. And no, I would never even dare to compare Disney's rotoscoped animation to this dreck.

The Astro Boy ones just look...odd. They give a feeling akin to the uncanny valley.

It might be due to how it inherently clashes with itself. It's a mix of classical cartoon characters and relatively modern designs and animation techniques, so it gives off a kind of odd effect that makes the cartoonish designs stand out. I like it, personally.

Jesus christ is this from a film and is it any good?

It's from a TV series, and it's pretty good.

Astro Boy, the 2003 series specifically. It's easily the most impressive show of its time in terms of animation.

Amazing artistry, the fine detail is incredible.

Goddamn, Metropolis is a work of art.

>Interpolation looks just fine to me
Sometimes it does, other times it looks like garbage, hence "poorly interpolated" and not just "interpolated'.
>he's even a big Disney guy
Being a fan of something won't fix lack of talent.
>everything is smooth
You can have zillion frames per second, it won't mean jack shit if the key frames suck.

>look like old Disney
Also, that's why I did the comparison, since it's clear he wanted to look it that way. It's also clear that it didn't work.
