So the latest spear hero chapter in a shellnut:
As motoyasu & bitches are fighting Naofumi & co, they had to act out mostly the same things they did in the battle where the pope appears. Motoyasu secretly counters any magic bitch/malty is firing while melty's taking the credit so malty doesn't suspect anything. Elena is taking a step back and raphtalia isn't attacking her, which puzzles motoyasu and wonders which side will elena take. Firo's attacks are weaker since she didn't meet fitoria.
At the time where naofumi burns motoyasu with the wrath shield, which feels a little more than a breeze to him, motoyasu acts out the part where he will never give up. Cue the pope beams crashing towards everyone and so motoyasu uses his "All Liberation Absorb X" magic to absorb the light of judgement. The pope appears with his followers and spouts his bullshit but then a certain someone's voice is heard in the distance telling them not to be fooled. Melty notices a "Flying firo-chan" coming towards them with itsuki on top and rishia desperately holding onto the flying filolial. Fleonne, naming herself "Filolial mask #2", itsuki as "Filolial mask V3" (fucking really?) and Rishia come down from the sky, and start denouncing the pope and malty, they're also doing poses and a fucking explosion in the background. And even fleonne is singing a sentai theme. Melty's ecstatic and naofumi's expression is pretty much described as a cat on a galaxy background(transcended cat meme i think) but this illustrates how he looked better:

It diverges first when Motoyasu's "hoop" against Filo appears, because that one didn't exist in the WN version, so the little fight there didn't happen and since Naofumi's group when escaping with Melty ran away quickly, Bitch never burned the forest and IIRC they ran into Fitoria earlier and the whole arc involving going into that one noble guy's territory and that big dinosaur never happened. As a butterfly effect Fitoria went back much earlier and likely prevented glass from crossing over again, so Naofumi and the others never ran into Glass' group again until Glass world was already exterminated. Likewise that one guy manipulating the turtle also failed to cross over and Naofumi fought the turtle "in normal state" in the WN until it died. As a consequence, Naofumi never went to Glass' world in the WN either.

Some people say that perhaps kyou was killed by the tortoise familiars when the 3 heroes beat him to the punch and activated the tortoise, remember that in the WN there was no training arc so the heroes didnt get held up and activated the tortoise sooner rather than later. And since when traveling to a new world kind of resets your level he probably was very much defenseless against the familiars not to mention the tortoise itself.

There's no way they don't at least do a movie or something though. The only isekai with more copies sold of the LN/manga now are Slime and Konosuba. It's pretty much tied with Overlord.

Total, although the last number for Zero no Tsukaima is from 2017. Rest of these are from within the last year. Top 5, at least for LN stuff, are Slime-12 million, Konosuba-8.5 million, Tate no Yuusha-7.8 million, Overlord-7.6 million and Zero no Tsukaima-6.8 million. Then there's a big drop to Re:Zero, GATE, NGNL, Tanya, etc that are all 4-5 million.

That is combined. Depends on the publisher though. Some like Kadokawa and Kodansha combine them, some of the smaller publishers don't. So it's more accurate when you're comparing series by the same publisher. Almost all the top selling isekai are published by Kadokawa anyway though.

That's just isekai stuff. There's obviously several other higher selling non-isekai series like Slayers or Haruhi. And yes, the Index series as a whole is the highest selling LN franchise ever. It's 49+ million for everything combined.
