The Gyo adaption was fine for what it was, people just meme about it because the story is utterly absurd gross out horror. Uzumaki may be absurd in its own way, Ito stories are generally weird after all. But there went a lot of creativity into dicking around with the concept of spirals for horror. Seeing that properly animated would be great. Though I will concede that such weak animation like the Ito collection got would ruin half the fun.

Gyo looks like shit and they changed parts of the story for the worse. Also they changed the male MC to a brain dead female lead which is dumb because it's one of the few Ito stories with a male lead
