But Watada has been the director for all Build TV shows since Try, because BFS1's director got stuck doing HeroAca forever

Dammit, the writer wasn't the problem with Divers. It was that Watada is absolutely terrible at directing subtlety, symbolism, and interesting battles and is mediocre at best at everything else. He's the beige paint of directors.

I will only start watching this because Obari is involved, I dropped Build Divers after the mid-season finale because I was just so bored.

Well there's no terrible love triangle that sucks up a third of the screentime anywhere in sight so its already twice as good by default. Add on to that the MC isn't some newbie and is using a modular gundam again and even if the directing sucks at least the characters seem better.

Just from the descriptions, the all these guys are either loners or not good with groups. Which means that obviously they'll join together and form a lasting story of friendship and companionship.

The way it was described in the stream the series theme is lonely people coming together or something like that.

So what even happened in Divers? I dropped it early on because it took the franchise's core conflict element from a, no-explanations-needed, visually-focused mecha duel and unjustifiably reshaped much of it into a format based on every shitty isekai (i.e. the first string of episodes was basically just info-dumping on the fucking world and all of it's stupid, esoteric mechanics). It's not isekai, but it felt like it, and it wasn't remotely interesting in any way. What was supposed to even be the end-game for this series?

sarah, basically a data compiled sentient life form that be came the center of attention when the admins were going to fix the bug of the system but by doing so it would erase sarah but if they didnt erase her it would erase the vr world

First half was about a guy spreading buggy cheat codes meant to destabalize and eventually brick the games servers because he was buttmad gbn replaced his favorite gunpla game and broke up his team. Second half is about the AI girl becoming too much for the game software to handle and is going to eventually brick the game servers even worse than the cheat codes were so they need to find a way to save her before the mods delete her with a patch they're working on.

I see the spiritual successors to Atra and Mikazuki managed to reunite in another. Will they fuck again?

to be fair it was more like they changed the game in a way that veterans of the old system kind of became scrubs and had to relearn the new system,wasting all their hard work. and honestly having the gunpla be damaged from battles created some good tensions in season 1

user I wish more games gave an option for that type of cloak. Its aesthetic as fuck.
