Considering that a) Ai refuses to tell Roboppy anything about his intentions or whereabouts, b) Ai gave Roboppy some sort of program and did not disclose anything about its contents, and c) Ai coldly said goodbye to Roboppy to himself after he left the ship, it is implied Ai doesn't give a shit about Roboppy and was actually just using him for his plans. Ai doesn't expect Roboppy to survive the duel against Soulburner and just wants to dispose of him.
Ai is just using other AI for a means to an end; at the end of the day, he only cares about the Ignis. Which means Revolver was right all along. Perhaps it will be Roboppy's death (or near-death) that finally convinces Playmaker to take Ai seriously and try to kill him off instead of being a little bitch like he was in the majority of this arc. And Soulburner won't even try to save Ai anymore; he'll flat out agree with Revolver to take Ai down.

Since Arc-V tried to be too ambitious for its own good and had good ideas that were horrendously executed, Konami wants to take a more conservative and grounded story with VRAINS. The story itself is pretty tame and basic with few twists and turns but several major characters end up dueling, so it still sells cards.
Yugioh is an extremely old school shonen and stuck in its mindset and not willing to actually adapt beyond a setting and how the card game is played. The entire franchise plays out like a shonen written in 2002 even though it's almost 2019.
I want a season that focuses more on the world of the cards, so an Isekai story where a bunch of Duelists and up in the Duel Monsters world and have to befriend monsters to get new cards would be pretty neat!

He's crass, rude, and has no respect for anyone but himself. And then he gets absolutely obliterated by the antagonist, has his deck stolen, and is pretty much shit on by all the people he was shitty to. Yuzu and Aki especially didn't lose their personalities. Aki's angst got resolved. Yuzu became less proactive, but nothing about her as a person suddenly went away.
