Mikoto only met Touma on a few occasions and most of it were fights that she also enjoyed deep down even when she loses, while Misaki got obsessed with him through guilt in being the cause for his brain damage. Most of Touma's classmates shouldn't really know him that well, since he apparently cuts class a lot. Only the trio and maybe Fukiyose would have been going to find him outside of classes, while for Seria we'll see in the upcoming SS what their relationship really was like.

In speaking of Mugino's backstory, I've always imagined that they DID try to use her for the clones, but the Network was unstable, crashed a lot, and the few clones they did make of her killed themselves with their powers. Which is how they know Mugino will die if she goes all out without it actually happening. Perhaps they might have tried to stablize the Meltdowner Network and the clones, but Mikoto showed up and was easier to work with.

Things actually happen in Index, unlike Railgun. In Railgun the most serious threat came from some dark side jobbers and a suicidal robot. It's literally designed to appeal to girls, who have lower intelligence and attention spans.

This is largely true of the main characters, the spinoffs are fine for developing the side cast, the problem is accelerator and mikoto are already accounted for in the main novels

In this theoretical case, Mugino's clones would have never even made it that far, as her "Dolly" prototypes would have killed themselves, and the memory sharing Network would have been pretty unstable if not outright unusable so I doubt more that 3 or so would have been made, and these clones probably didn't last long for whatever reason- most likely they killed themselves trying to use Meltdowner OR were prone to violent fits that drugs couldn't control.

Touma hasn't said anything that implies he holds a grudge against Kamisato, no matter how much he pissed him off.

In general Touma doesn't really seem to hold grudges, not serious ones, anyway. He wouldn't be willing to team up with former enemies if that were the case. Even with Stiyl, dude tried to invite him over for dinner once, it's Stiyl who keeps acting like a salty fag.

Not only was a pile of shit thrown at him, Stiyl also followed its example and flew into the nearest wall.

He had a relatively large amount of animosity towards Kamisato up until the end of NT16. Not too much where he won't try to work with him, but noticeably more than with anyone else up until that point.

I'm not denying that, but it's not what I'd call holding a grudge. Even at his highest point of animosity he still tried to give Kamisato advice and practically ignored Othinus' advice because he thought "oh, he helped save the Birdway sisters, he can't be all bad."

To add to this, Kamisato being outside of Touma's comfort zone really boosted his disdain for the guy. While Touma is chill as fuck, he also was placed in situations where he understood the asshole in front of him and didn't feel the need to hold a grudge. He didn't get Kamisato and hated him for it.

When did Touma negate a Railgun? My first though was on the bridge but that's all lightning, and I'm not sure she ever uses a Railgun during their 'play' fights.

Something a lot of people forget about Touma is that he's not that hard to beat, the issue is that Magicians/ESPERs tend to be too proud to attack with something other than their powers. Think the first few seconds of the Touma Vs Hamazura fight

Once Touma confirms his stance on the problem he acts. With Kamisato he had an opportunity to finish him off, that clash would have been fatal if Touma truly hated him.

Perhaps we have different takes on what level your resentment turns into a grudge, I personally think it implies something much more personal (like IT taking his role and IB). With Kamisato I just saw it as Touma rightfully treating him as a dangerous enemy, the fact he couldn't understand him made his frustration and paranoia worse. Coming off the HP stuff probably didn't help.
