Just finished this show and I have to say i'm very disappointed. a bunch of people especially on Yea Forums have hyped hxh up and said its a masterpiece and one of the best shonens with amazing character development and philosophical themes. I feel like a fool and I don't know if its just another Yea Forums meme or something to say this show is good but if it is then I got baited into watching 100+ episodes of this. the story felt like it didn't have a point and it just ended abruptly, and not even just at the last episode, even inbetween arcs it ends abruptly with retarded pacing like for instance the phantom troupe arc. Theyre supposedly at odds with the protagonists and theres a giant fight in a city where they just slaughter a bunch of civilians and then the arc just ends and they don't fight anymore and just pretend to be all buddy buddy with gon and everyone else like nothing just happened even though kurapika just killed one of their members and there was a literal holocaust in the streets. If im wrong please tell me why because im seriously confused. should I just get caught up with the manga?

Nice blog
>he fell for the meme
No one here truly thinks hxh is good.
lmao hxh is the most cancer fanbase of all time. literally makes me vomit anytime they post.
literally just pissed their badly drawn shit manga doesnt get updated anymore boohoo who cares. literally kpop levels of cringe in that fanbase
Nah dont catch up with the manga...
There are 10 chapters every 2 years...and by the time the new one comes out you will have forgotten all of the arc's plot points..
Another Hunterchad thread?
theyre joking dude, its ironic
no one thinks hxh is a masterpiece
>literally makes me vomit
Oh you liar. You would've filtered all "hxh" posts if that were true.
>listening to Yea Forums
you only have yourself to blame
>even inbetween arcs it ends abruptly
I always liked this. They just try to reach their own goal and don't give a fuck about entering some kind of boss fight just to please the readers.
>there was a literal holocaust in the streets
That's just the fucked up world. The entire hunter exam people get brutally slaughtered left and right and our mc is just like 'wow that's exciting'.
I'm 5 episodes away from the ending and I think it's great. The characters are definitely the strongest aspect of the show for me. I don't feel like any of them really fit into generic archetypes, they all have quirks and nuances that make them feel more dynamic than they might initially appear. To me some of the abrupt endings felt more realistic. In life things don't always go as expected. As an example, Kurapika puts all of his focus and nen abilities towards taking down the Phantom Troupe, but he's not able to fulfil his goal (at least in the anime), which begs the question of whether or not it was really the correct path to take.
In Hunter x Hunter there rarely seems to be a correct way of going about things. Sure, there are good guys and bad guys, but what's the correct way to deal with villains who make have their own reasonings and motives?
How can one be so based?
Doesn't mean they should go around shitting up other peoples threads
I think the Phantom Troupe murdering a bunch of people in Yorknew is a means to an end for them, it's how they operate. It's not like they're a small time group that can easily be disposed of. Two master assassin's went after the leader and they couldn't take him down. Of course there were external circumstances that interrupted the conflict, but it goes to show that they're not a group that can just be disposed of. They get away with it because they're smart, strong and efficient.

Yorknew is kinda overrated but still great, a solid 8/10. Greed Island was a comdy 8/10, great for all the opposite reasons of Yorknew. Chimera Ant was a 10/10 easy, the true masterpiece of HxH. The Succesion War on the Boat is shaping up to be the best manga arc of all time though, I've never read something so engaging, intriguing, and wonderfully complex in my entire life.
Are there other manga similar to the Succesion War?
low IQ
based but gtfo this time
Once again, a Hunter x Hunter thread that will die before it's time.
