It was good. However, the last episode was absolutely, hilariously horseshit. The 2003 adaptation was more cohesive as a whole, but each episode in this was good individually.
SSR did out-kino it while it was airing, though.

Definitely although the biggest stength of the reboot was the first episode which was about the nation where all homicide is legal.

The original show was better although it would have been nice had the strange lines on the screen not been there. A couple episodes in the reboot were watered down versions of the original show's episodes which was unfortunate.

You could, but you might as well just wait for the person doing it (around 1 chapters per week) to catch up and read it for free. There are older translations available for later stuff (the current translator that started from the beginning is on volume 11 right now) though I'm pretty sure. Unless you've already read up through volume 17 using those translations.

Yeah I've read up through 17, just waiting for the new translations to catch up. Their progress is pretty good but I'm impatient and I miss Kino. Then again I guess I would need to get a job before I had the disposable income to hire someone anyway.
