Was it kino?
Was it kino?
don't know but the RG Sazabi sure was
Yes, but women and basedboys will never understand.
>summoning the Nagano fag
Oh no...
The only good thing about Gaydumb is the original series, specially the movie version. Zeta was ok I guess, and everything else is pure shit. Watch Eva, TTGL or Top wo Nerae saga instead.
>specially the movie version
>Watch Eva, TTGL or Top wo Nerae saga instead
Imagine having taste this shit.
I'm finna drop a grand on that new Nu gundam figure desu
>don't watch mecha instead
ftfy
G Gundam was fucking awesome retarded franxxnigger.
Why do idiot boomers get so triggered when you tell them Zeta is shit
Only Nu Gundam was kino.
It was just average as fuck. Fucking Hathaway and Quess ruined everything.
It is peak Gundam.
The only problem, for me, is that it needs some sort of prologue.
Otherwise a masterpiece
Great animations, great designs, great characters and character interaction, great music, great ending.
You can't really say you have seen UC until you see CCA.
The ending couldn't be called anything but
In medias res is kino though. Explanations are for weaklings.
I can't wait for Hatheway's flash btw.
It's good, but not that good.
Assuming you watched the previous series, the only show you might need watch for better understanding is stardust memory.
What was the tetris piece flying around with magical powers though at the end? Tomino a hack.
New type technology. Watch Unicorn/Narrative.
I don't know. It just bothers me a little that there is no explanation on were Char went after Zeta, or how he was able to rebuild Zeon after it fell again, or how the current conflict started.
>Watching Unicorn to lear about CCA.
No. Everything that needed to be said was said in CCA. At worst you might want to be familiar with 0079.
The hyperfocus on Hathaway and Quess is a understandable criticism of it. There certainly was a meaningful reason behind their subplot, but it lasted too long and took too much attention from Char and Amuro.
What is Yea Forums's verdict on Unicorn?
I'm new to all this gundam shit and binged unicorn yesterday, and I gotta say it was pretty fucking good
I am not the biggest fan of Hathaway, but I think Quess works well, especially when in the context of Amuro and Char. She gives a new perspective to the characters and allows us to see the characters in a new light in how they handle her.
The whole UC charter plot point fell flat on it's face and the rest of the show is spent trying to explain stuff from Tomino shows that had are been subtlety done in Tomino sows.
Nostalgia bait even worse than the OYW stuff. Has pretty high production values and some good actions sequences though so I'm kind of conflicted on it.
Also are you saying Unicorn was your first or one of your first Gundam series?
Yeah, I mostly agree on that. When they were used to play off Amuro and Char, like with how differently both of them treated Quess, it worked pretty well. The actual parts that get complaint are mostly all the scenes with Hathaway pining after Quess, even after she explicitly rejects him, and then him even killing Chan at the end.
I liked Zymmerman and Marida, such shame the cuck kills her
Plot is pretty silly and Banana is a huge fag, but it looks dope, has some good moments and has great music. Good time overall, could be a lot worse.
>why do ironic weebs get so triggered when you tell them thier toy commercial with shoe horned dogfights TO SELL TOYS is a toy commercial
Dunno
My first U.C gundam series, I watched wind when I was a kid
Unicorn is a terrible place to start and is full of "remember this" moments that rely on you having watched the earlier series'. I legitimately don't even know how it's coherent to someone that has no other UC Gundam experience.
Zimmerman was a fag. "But muh Federation was mean to Zeon", fucking Zeon gassed colonies and dropped them on Earth.
Great eyecandy for mecha battles. The initial land invasion and final space battle come to mind.
Fuck sunrise for killing off the qt brown girl and banshee girl tho
Kino returns with Hatheway's flash.
I did though. There were no flying tetris over there. And whether it helped the characters achieve their goals or act as an obstacle, it really just felt very out of place and took me out of the story.
I just hope there isn't too much CGI.
infodump in the first episode gives you enough info to follow the plot, but you're missing all the reference and callbacks that makes up a major part of the show's content.
In a way, lacking deeper UC knowledge might improve the viewing experience as you don't notice all the retcons and how little sense the plot make in the greater UC narrative. You just enjoy the ride.
The point is that it doesn't matter who committed the greater atrocities at the global scale, at the individual scale people are still going to feel wronged by the "enemy" regardless and will keep the cycle of hate going because of that irrational response. That's like, a point in every single UC Gundam, mate
>AUDREY COME BACK AUGHAAAUGGGH
>Falls in the floor*
>Vomits*
>BANANAAAAAAA
>Turns into a newtype*
>GODDAMN IT
They're going to shoehorn in the Unicorn, psychoframe, Banagher, Mineva, and Neo Neo Neo Zeon the Return of the Sleeves.
sore demo
I got into Gundam exclusively to watch this shit and I fucking loved it. I watched 7 goddamn movies as preparation, very crudely recapping events of the show, and felt pretty burned out by the time I got into Unicorn.
Glad to say it sucked me in since the start. The art, the sawano music, the autistic/enlightened speeches of MC and his Zeon gf, sore demo, finally a goddamn cyber newtype getting a happy ending (sort of, she does die but dies happily and goes full obiwan), the references everywhere. I still put it as background tv every now and then.
i expect sligh reference to unicorn, references to man hunting and f91 but mostly following Tomino's plot
maybe an ending change
Anyone who says it isn't just couldn't go BEYOND ZA TAIM
Do I finally get to see Bright BTFO?
i was struck by amuro's lack of concern for his life in his final moments, char is whining about is dead gf while amuro is scolding him and trying to save the earth an even the other pilots at the same time without one thinking 'shit, i'm going to die'
it was kino indeed.
>That fucking clash at the end of Episode 6
>PLEASE HEAR ME
My boner stabbed my chin
He went through a bunch of shows pretty much unscathed. Even got the best girl. It was his turn.
Unicorn was good
Zeta was better than 0079, even though both were good
Why haven't the modern generation of directors and writers made good UC shows yet?
I mean even the UC shows made today are made by the same people who were around it's development back in the 80's
Yeah, I loved the way the camera would sway, pan or rotate around during many space moments. The PLEASE HEAR ME moment was excellent, better than the actual fight imo, and the way the camera just slowly pans away to a fullscreen moon was an absolutely amazing cocktease.
You should watch in release order if you don't want to get confused as much
Mechanical designs is probably the best out of the classic UC shit. Sazabi being my favourite.
> Say Classic UC
>Post fucking verKA
Pls go.
Why was Riddhe such a faggot?
verKa shifted the Sazabu from A to an S tier design for me, /m/anchild
>Running after royal pussy makes you a fag.
My fucking sides, still he took that rejection pretty bad
People like you are cancer. Bandwagon jumping into the series to watch overrated trash like Unicorn and Origin and literally speedwatching through the rest of the series by watching the shitty recap movies.
Cringe
Imagine getting mad over some newfag watching and enjoying a series in a way you don't approve
And you sir are overreacting by calling others cancer. We have different backgrounds and likes, learn to accept it. I didnt badmouth the prequel movies either - they weren't up my alley. Learn to love.
Unicorn is shit.
Ver.ka Sazabi is the best mg for me.
>The art, the sawano music, the autistic/enlightened speeches of MC and his Zeon gf, sore demo, finally a goddamn cyber newtype getting a happy ending (sort of, she does die but dies happily and goes full obiwan), the references everywhere
based
>NOOOOOOOO HOW DARE YOU ENJOY MY CHILDRENS CARTOON FOR REASONS THAT I DON'T
>wojakposting
It's fucking trash. It ruins every old character especially Char, has the worst original characters in any gundam, and only appeals to retards that want to see muh nonsensical cool robit fights.
>wojakposting
Thot. No wonder Char stopped carrying for her as she got bigger.
He's the same petulant sociopath he was in the first two series.
Sure, if you ignore his hate for the zabis and literally the entirety of Zeta.
Yeah nothing says bad character development like the need to drop a meteor because lulz
Nothing in CCA contradict his hate for the Zabis or what he did in Zeta.
It was cool (except for the blonde faggot going crazy) until they went back in time
I think you might be retarded user.
you realize that him sitting on the sidelines and seeing the earth federation ALLOW dublin to get colony dropped and the loss of kamile are what sent him to do what he does in CCA right? What happened in zeta didn't change who he was, all it did was make him think that things might change which of course, they didn't
>teams up with his former enemies to stop the Titans using the Zabi's methods/ideology
>gives his life to stop them from destroying the earth
>his actions in CCA completely contradict his iconic speech
>his character arc and Amuro's are complete at the end of Zeta
>wow how could they allow the earth be destroyed, I hate this so much I'll just do another colony drop like they just did that makes perfect sense
Kamille didn't even die and after ZZ everything was basically fine, even Kamille got unretarded, that is until in CCA Char just becomes a retarded Zabi clone and fucks everything up.
He died at the end of Zeta and that hack Tomino only brought him back because retards would pay for movie tickets if he put him on the title. The existence of CCA depends on a dead character coming back to life and suddenly becoming a mustache twirling villain using absolutely retarded methods and adopting the ideology his most hated enemies used.
Absolutely kino, women will never understand this movie.
>>gives his life to stop them from destroying the earth
There is nothing in Zeta to indicate his death. Do you really think they would have killed him off so unceremoniously? You can even see his hyaku shiki floating in space before the ED.
>>his actions in CCA completely contradict his iconic speech
They do not.
Char has always been obsessed with newtypes and thought that clinging to Earth was holding humanity back. And he released that simple speeches wasn't going to change anything. The politicians of Earth wasn't going to do anything unless forced to. He obviously realizes that dropping the Axis is an evil act, but he sees it as the only way to save humanity. And earth can return to its former climate after some time. There is nothing contradictory.
>>his character arc and Amuro's are complete at the end of Zeta
Nothing about them is complete by the end of Zeta. They are just side characters there. They are not given enough focus to actually complete anything.
After watching every UC anime, OVA, movie i gotta say CCA is great but there are some parts i felt it was rushed, i know this movie was the answer of the studio to Tomino's request of Char having his own series, im sure ZZ was going to be about him or at least have some kinda of role in it
Don't get me wrong ZZ is bad, but it suffered from these choices the studio took.
the ending of Z the ps1 game makes a great job trying to explain why Char would become such an antagonist in CCA after all the evnts of Z with making peace with Amuro and the speech he did, losing Kamille was the boiling point for him and i can buy that, but its a fucking ps1 game, like come on who played the game? it's obscure even for Gundam fans
But the movie is awesome, the Amuro vs Char fight was emotional and incredible, Char giving the new type tech to Amuro for a fair fight? What a fucking character god damn
also >you will never good enough of a Newtype for Haman to get Char vibes from you
>you will never be chained to the bed, your vision obscured by a Char mask, as Haman rides your dick while screams Char's name
>you will never be promoted to a high rank in the Zeon army and made Haman's second-in-command because you're her personal body pillow
>you will never feel hollow because, despite all the fame and success, your waifu and superior commander will never love nor respect you
>you will never scream her name in vain as a raging autistic Newtype blows you into space debris, as Haman feels slightly annoyed that her favorite fucktoy just got killed in action
Feels bad man
So Char was a mommyfag?
At least Kamille and Setsuna have better taste. That's why Kamille is Setsuna's mentor in the Robot Wars series. To show what it means to tap into an older woman's inner potential to be a mother figure to them.
Char never had that chance because he's not as much of a newtype as Lalah, Amuro, Kamille, and Haman.
>Losing Kamille was the boiling point for Char
So it's like with Dutch and Hosea from RDR2 right?
Good thing I showed both games (RDR2 and Robot Wars) during my video game presentation.
>Great animations, great designs, great characters and character interaction, great music, great ending.
Retarded writing, horrible directing, horrible ending. Everything else is true.
>Zeta better than 0079
I think all Gundams could've used a prologue. While Stardust Memory helps with Zeta, there's no smooth transition between the two for them. Zeta just has us jumping straight into action with Char with no backdrop apart from a narration at the beginning, especially given how long it took for Tomino to make the damn thing after 0079.
>Not mentioning 00
He's coming....
Yeah, they are 40-50 episodes long, you'd think they could at least use 1 episode to establish the setting and characters.
>ZZ is bad
stopped reading there
The great irony is ZZ having one despite needing it the least since it continues directly from Zeta.
I will...
Have mine...
>There is nothing in Zeta to indicate his death. Do you really think they would have killed him off so unceremoniously? You can even see his hyaku shiki floating in space before the ED.
While watching ZZ I never got the impression he was alive, until when Tomino, seeing he could milk him some more, shoehorned in an offhanded comment in the last episode about "oh yeah I guess he's alive somewhere maybe" while showing no evidence whatsoever.
>Char has always been obsessed with newtypes and thought that clinging to Earth was holding humanity back
He also allied with Amuro and the AEUG (his former enemies) to protect the earth from being destroyed with the excuse of saving it, which is his braindead retarded plan in CCA.
>Nothing about them is complete by the end of Zeta. They are just side characters there.
They, and especially Char have a lot of screentime in Zeta, and you definitely see the changes he goes through in the series to the point of sacrificing himself to protect the Earth, it's a very good ending for his arc, instead of coming back in the form of a shitty villain for a pointless final fight so he could sell more movie tickets.
One day...
You'll see the tears of time, user...Love is real...
charfags who can't accept char for what he was are the worst
>Thinks G-Reco is bad
>Thinks Victory is bad
>Thinks Turn-A is bad
your opinion is SHIT
Victory is awful. It might even be worse than ZZ.
>Took control over Axis
>BTFO the AEUG and the titans
>Non autistic newtype
>Made Char (AKA the red comet, baddest motherfucker alive) KNEEL before her
How does she do it bros?
WHY DID RIDDHE HAD TO KILL HER FUUUUCK I'M STILL MAD
>Teleports behind you
>BTFOs Char, Haman, Titans, and AEUG all at once
>Crushed Kamille's consciousness, thus, reprimanding Char's ego and making him drop a fucking meteor because lulz
How does he do it?
Calm down we have Setsuna and Marina
>men are from mars
>women are from venus
>...and then there's THIS ASSHOLE...
Only the war in the pocket stuff, everything else is trash.
>lose to a 14 year old
To be fair I'd suck Jewdough's cock and I'm not even gay. There was no way a woman like Haman could have beat him.
That's what happens when you follow your newtype romance
Marida deserved to die. She straight up murdered all of Banagher's friends and tons of people on the colony in the first OVA. The sleeves in general all deserved to die, they attack first every time with no regard for civilians. Banagher's a sociopathic fag for not caring at all. It's really strange that Sunrise basically had another Hathaway be the main character of Unicorn, another little shit who's obsession with newtype romance drives him towards insanity
>Watch Eva, TTGL or Top wo Nerae
This is the mecha equivalent of saying
>Watch One Piece, Naruto or Bleach
It might have been if One Piece, Naruto or Bleach were any good.
That's Mazinger, Gundam, and Getter Robo
The three that user listed are way more popular with most people than Mazinger, Gundam, or Getter. Eva and TTGL are the quintessential "different" mecha series, considered that by people whose only mecha experience comes from those shows. Gunbuster is a bit more of an enthusiast show but it tends to mostly be posted by Anno dickriders or those 8 0 S A E S T H E T I C faggots.
Based.
why are UCfaggots so insufferable?
I'm sure I cant say that IBO is my favorite Gundam series without them making an uproar
>The three that user listed are way more popular with most people than Mazinger, Gundam, or Getter.
That's not true. Only Eva is as popular or more popular.
You really think TTGL isn't as popular or more popular than Eva? I would say Gunbuster is more popular than at least Mazinger or Getter too.
most of UC is shit but its nowhere near as bad as Okadashit
Eva is more popular in Japan at least. It is harder to know for the western community since it is more spread out.
At least on Yea Forums people talk a lot more about Eva than they do about TTGL. And seeing as how Eva just got on Netflix there is a chance that it is more popular now, since there would be more buzz around it compared to TTGL.
He killed the brown girl too that piece of shit.
This but without Nigger Lagann
Trigger nigger
Somehow even worse
Agree that gurren lagann and eva are better than all gundam but turn a and war in the pocket are peak gundam and way better than 0079
Victory sucks dick how the fuck does it have defenders
>Anno-san considering V Gundam as the best TV anime in recent years,
What did he mean by this
>You really think TTGL isn't as popular or more popular than Eva?
No, not even close.
>I would say Gunbuster is more popular than at least Mazinger or Getter too.
Again, not even close. You're completely delusional.
Eva has always been more popular than TTGL and there has never been a time when it wasn't.
Amazing production values, but this was the worst version Char.
I think you're delusional thinking anyone gives a shit about Mazinger or Getter except people already really into mecha as a whole. Eva and TTGL are popular among anime fans that otherwise don't touch mecha and Gunbuster is at least associated with Anno and watched by people that obsess over 80s OVAs.
>Non autistic newtype
Unfortunately, Tomino fix this up In ZZ
No, you're just a fucking idiot. Honestly. Mazinger and Getter are huge franchises and have been for decades. Yes, Eva is more popular. It's one of the highest selling and biggest merchandising anime ever. TTGL? Definitely not. It's not in the same realm as those franchises. It might be more well known with anime English anime fans because it's a fairly recent anime that was popular, but overall it doesn't have the same numbers. Gunbuster is even less well known than TTGL.
Bases triggerchad
Thunderbolt is unique. Turn A is my favorite for the comedy factors.
