If this was actually submitted into a real contest, even with them blatantly pointing out the plagiarism I would think they'd still reject it for doing so

The jokes are really hit or miss, and there's not a lot of flow to it. By that I guess I mean each part of the story doesn't connect very well; it starts off making jabs at piracy, which is fine, but when we get to the "make an anime" plot it feels like the first part was entirely ignored. Some of the jokes don't flow very well either, like the sudden shift into rival being smitten, Animan proclaiming he's not gay only to spend a page and a half talking about his favorite slash ship and faking one with rival, and nearly nothing about the kind of anime/manga Animan actually wanted to make.
Then we get to that part itself. While the idea of finding and crafting your own anime is fine, Animan basically stops after "step" 2 and runs off into the sunset like it wasn't a big deal at all. None of the characters really helped with the process, and even if everyone pointed out that Animan's solutions weren't all that great either, they were still not great solutions to begin with.
Paneling is okay, especially for an amateur work. Designs are alright too, the crudeness will pass for a submission. At least everyone looks distinct enough.
Also even for a gag manga it's a bit too referential. If you plan on giving this to Jump I don't think they'll take heavy use of their property (or other company's with that nerd Eren) for an original submitted work.

The characters themselves could play decent roles if better handled. Rival being a parody of the too close rival character would be better kept if he didn't instantly go dere in the following panels, but that's just my opinion. If you want to keep him smitten you would have a better time extending the "steps" so that they actually develop a more apparent bond.
Yasu and Kimura, even as starter pack friends, feel a bit tacked on. They're basically only there to admonish Animan, and don't contribute much to the story itself. The jokes about them being referred to as space filler did get a chuckle out of me, but that's all, really.

I guess the story could work with a few tweaks, but I'm still impressed you even did one at all. Congrats and I mean it.
