An anime adaptation is guaranteed to make general discussion of said series worse due to the larger appeal anime has to the masses. It's a hard pill to swallow. And one thing an anime adaptation always loses is the personal connection to the mangaka. Even with things like editors to consider, manga is that creator's undistilled vision of their stories and characters. In the case of JoJo, you don't get as great of a sense of Araki's evolving art style since each part in the anime sticks to one consistent look throughout.
Using the anime as a supplementation for the real thing is fucking shameful. It's called an adaptation for a reason.

Only one of the three seasons is actually well produced, and it's the shortest one. The direction is garbage and it's a slideshow outside of fight scenes. Go watch Mob Psycho 100 if you want to see what a good anime adaptation looks like.
