For those who have watched S2 what are your thoughts? I thought S1 was amazing and was looking forward to many seasons of missions with an ever expanding crew. S2 destroyed everything for no real reason and turned characters deaths into a mockery of what they build in S1. I know I can't be the only one who felt angry at the potential they squandered in this show.

I nearly had an orgarsm when all of Tekkadan died, it was great
Yep the nips hate S2 too and constantly bash Nagai and Okada for it.
S1 was a mockery of itself. It was absolute shit. S2 tried to fix things but it was shit as well.
>had an orgarsm when all of Tekkadan died
Agreed.
>S1 was amazing
Yeah I sure enjoyed all those scenes of Kudelia being sad over feeling useless for the 50th time and Orga talking about muh family again for the 100th time.
Reason being for the Tekkadan hate? and what in particular do you hate about S1?
>How dare you put a gundam head in a spike
They hate it for dumb reasons
Sure the Kudelia moments were meh but I enjoyed what they were building overall and the potential for season after season of new conflicts and battles.
>Kudelia moments were meh
She saves the show.. Better than the worst girl muh gives me baby
>and what in particular do you hate about S1?
Everything. It's ridiculously dumped down and Gundam isn't even some super mature franchise to start with. They literally can't stop repeating the same few lines just to make sure that you get the point and motivations of the character. You could cut down a shit ton of episodes and lose nothing important.
They weren't building shit. It's the same thing over and over being repeated. The characters barely grow, the character interactions do not add anything new. Things were even worse in s2 when every episode you must include the char clone standing in the hangar making ominous remarks and doing jack shit.
I love the fact ancient banned weapon has its own theme.

They were victims of their circumstances but most of them were literal terrorist who killed people without a care in the world, it's like rooting for ISIS.
Don't mind me, just being the reformer this world needs.
The best thing about iron blooded orphans was watching Gaelio get his vegeance
>youtube.com
From what I remember they killed other combatants. They were then recognized as a mech outfit who fought other mercs. In S2 it was them vs that big shot from earth who controlled most of the earth forces.
Do you mean the lines about what their goals to become a famous outfit and find a place to live?
Gaelio loosing his popularity was the best thing about it.
reassess the comparison you just made you fucking brainlet, holy shit
The first season was fun but the second was atrociously bad. At least Atra was cute throughout.
Setting was more interesting than the basic story they were going with.
Let me kill these soldier who just surrendered, good btw
But S2 is the best, especially the ending
>manchild goes and jack some historical artifact
>behold, I have this robot that is supposed to symbolize important shit to your organization, therefore you must obey me
>uh no, why should we, it's called a symbol for a reason, it doesn't mean anything in practical terms
>wait shit, not as planned!
And then McGillis got wrecked. It's basically a Monty Python and the Holy Grail sketch.
It tried something new. The designs were fine, the characters interesting. The problem people had was the fact it had no beam spam, which is unorthodox for a gundam franchise and that the 'good' guys lost. I don't think it was squandered, it was just not a hit.
I liked Rustal. Yeah, he was absolutely invested in perpetuating Gjallarhorn's power, but also worked on suppressing retarded McGillis and clearly compromised for good of all when it became evident reforms were necessary. He was an antagonist rather than villain in the grand scheme of things.
>It's basically a Monty Python and the Holy Grail sketch
Man, IBO sure is retarded. It's like they saw AGE and decided that it's still too smart.
If the show was called Iron Orphans it would be a 8/10 show.
It's has that Gundam part on it so for me this is like 5/10 not a gundam show.
It tries to have a mature theme but fails miserably. Tekkadan and the whole of Mars were supposed to have this whole dark background of poverty and shit but as soon as Tekkadan revolve and leave for space its a like they have a goddamned field trip. Everything is just rosy for them, especially after joining Mafia guy.
Kudelia is shit. Every episode we are reminded by every character that she is SUGOI but we never see why she is. She just is SUGOI because she's a princess. The only character that doesnt believe she is SUGOI is herself, in that in every episode she goes through the same cycle of believing she is useless and then regaining her resolve, repeat ad nauseam, until the maid dies. Speaking of which, that colony arc has the conflict resolved offscreen.
The villains are comically evil and absolutely fail in every way. They didnt even have the balls to kill someone in the season finale, even though their MS were destroyed.
Also all of Tekkadan just doesnt grow, they stay the same as they started with absolutely no change.
Also the horrible telegraphed shit they pulled.
>Guts: I have a brother
>Shows up next ep and dies
>Maid: I'm scheeming and am conflicted
>dies next ep
>Biscuit: I'm retiring
>dies next up
Also, people praising it for melee battles and no beams. Their point for hating beams is that it removes tension as they are a one hit ko most of the times, while if it is a "main" battle the battle will go on even if the beam hits. IBO pulled the same shit with melee combat. The murder manlet just one hit ko's every goon but with a club instead of a beam. It doesnt even have good choreography.
And everything pic related that some one else posted.
First season was okay, second season was poo.
>that entire first arc
>muh kings of mars
>muh mobile armour
>McGillis going full retard
>develop characters then kill them in the same episode to try and get normies to cry, the entire second season is built around doing this repeatedly
>Rustal just turning out to be such a nice guy because none of the main characters did anything and we need a way to have a happy ending
I actually liked the tragic ending but everything else was scuffed.
>The problem people had was the fact it had no beam spam
Wrong, it's because they wanted to have more gritty melee but don't have the resources for it so the fight scenes look like shit.
I thought IBO was fairly popular/successful? Granted I'm basing this on the discussion and popularity as it aired.
It means jack shit, but it's the only AU Gundam I've ever liked and especially coming from the absolute Trainwreck that was G-Reco. IBO had serious flaws, but there was enough quality and competence there unlike G-Reco/AGE.
Those Spanish guitars, though.
>not a gundam show
Pretty sure at this point anything with robots in it can be gundam. A bit too late to be butthurt
>>Rustal just turning out to be such a nice guy because none of the main characters did anything and we need a way to have a happy ending
I hated that, it seemed like such a cop out. They portrayed him as a power hungry villain who used illegal weapons to cheat in the final battle but don't worry turns out he had a change of face and is a good dude.
I don't mind him being nice when facing the public, but he just straight up does everything that Tekkadan wanted for no reason. Also I thought they were going to have all the news crews see him use the illegal weapons and shit so he'd go down too but I guess that makes too much sense.
>Everything needs to be black and white, you can't have a good guy using shitty methods to achieve a good ending
Solid read, thanks.
He didn't have a change of face. He wanted power, realised that the current system was unsustainable and would continue to create pushback so he reformed it the least amount that he could to fix that while keeping himself at the head.
>Reason being for the Tekkadan hate
Because it feels like they are a bunch of overconfident assholes that care for nothing other than their themselves. We are supposed to root for them because they had it but and going against a corrupted establishment but ever since they formed everything was peachy for them. They get overconfident and greedy and the series rewards them for it. Hence the long coming comeuppance in S2 feels good. But they are the main characters so we are supposed to feel bad.
>I thought IBO was fairly popular/successful? Granted I'm basing this on the discussion and popularity as it aired.
Most of the discussion were shitposting wars between Yea Forums and /m/. Anyone who criticized it was deemed as a crossboarding shitposter.
Also the series was absolutely fujotastic from the designs to character relations. Fujos buy shit en masse.
one minimal thing Gundam need is good animation and this shit didn't even deliver it. Absolutely no memorable fight apart from Coffee destroying Iok with scissors.
What show are you talking about? Because last I check, it sure isn't IBO where you just have one group of lucky retards fighting against some established group. Then some old guy who hasn't been doing anything for most of the series just jump in did some basic clean up shit and claim credit after the group of retards fucked themselves for teaming up with another retard. Also, some girl who did nothing but cried for most of the show somehow managed to achieve her goals in the epilogue because it takes too much effort to actually show how she attains her goal.
I liked it. It had the clear moral that children who are raised in misery meet an unfortunate end.
It's unusual for a Gundam series to have such a mature and consistent theme.
Uh no? That shit has been part of Gundam for a long time. Hell, people who actually watch old gundams were already predicting that Mika will die because he's basically the IBO equivalent of cyber new types.
F/a/ggots once again showing how much of a fucking bunch if casuals they are despite their cringe inducing elitism.
>/m/fag has no argument and post come to laugh at you char like always
There were already plenty of posters pointing out why they think it's shit. What more do you need?
fuck yeah my brother from another mother. Studio 1 Sunrise is an ace
I found the end of S2 pretty great, particularly the death of Orga
>yfw you realise you're the only one who enjoyed the shit out of both season 2
I'll never forget you, tekkadan.
>I thought S1 was amazing
You're retarded
> looking forward to many seasons of missions with an ever expanding crew
And have almost no experience watching anime.
Are gundamfags the biggest gatekeepers of all?
Serious question: are you capable of expressing yourself without using memes? Do you even have your own thoughts or can you only use templates set by others?
Me too bro. I enjoyed both seasons, including the ending.
