I think part of it could also be that some people hear about stands and think that shit sounds dope, so when they hop onto part 1, they are disappointed and just skip to when stands are presented.

I must say, Jonathan's 1st fight against Dio with Hamon is fucking stupid, boring and tedious.

Wouldn't you want the incredibly powerful suicide bomber to be happy enough to actually give his life for you? You also wouldn't want to waste it on just any threat.

so i am watching part 1 and it's complete dogshit. The characters are boring, the fights are just asspulls with shit animation, the colouring looks awful, etc. Why do people like jojo?

i dont know about that since i only read the manga, but i heard the animations is great on part 3 and part 5

the only boring characters on part 1 are the random zombies Dio uses, tell me which ones you dislike, also i dont remember any asspulls

I liked part 1, but it's my least favourite. A lot of people say they didn't like part 1, but enjoyed the others.
Just keep watching. Part 1 is only 9 episodes long after all. If by the middle point of part 2 you're still not enjoying it, it's not four (you)

Araki wanted to restrict himself when making Jonathan and Dio.

Jonathan is justice. Jonathan might be a bit one note but he serves as the primordial soup for the rest of his bloodline who have their own quirks.

Dio is evil but seeing vulnerable Dio is a great thing after you seen other incarnations of him.

It's a slow beginning you will appreciate once you get farther into the series.

The fortunate thing is that every part is different. If it's intolerable skip and you'll get a new cast with new categories of fights

Part 1 had the worst fights and characters except Dio, it's just Jonathan getting through everything with WILLPOWER. Later they become actually technical

Technically you can skip everything after part 1 since you've seen the been JoJo has to offer, but most people keep going for completion's sake.
