My guess is that we'll see the date start, Fujiwara shows up at some point, and Kaguya calls Hayasaka to distract her, and then gay happens, then back to the date.

Kaguya uses her to do shit. Shit which requires people not knowing she works for Kaguya. Since she already goes to school under her own name, she uses a different one when someone from school visits.

So she can move more independently while at school. She's supposed to support Kaguya from the shadows and everyone at school knowing she's her maid would make that impossible.

I think you're way overstating it, but in general I found the show to be cringier than the manga. I was laughing my ass off for dozens of chapters at a time during my first couple reads of Kaguya, but something about the joke timing, voice acting, audio, directing in general, etc. felt a lot more flat and forced.

Even ishi doesn't deserve that level of MISFORTUNE
