Everyone told me Arifureta had a lot of MC wank but he's like a little bug compared to series where the MC can just snap his fingers and delete an army of enemies like with Kenja no mago, Slime, Smartphone or Overlord. Average people knowledge skyrockets magic potential because SCIENCE! Because someway knowing how combustion works helps to make magic stronger despite magic being about defiying combustion and science in firs place.
I personally had contradictory feelings on this one, on one side I really liked the main character, he wasnt a supergenius by making everyone around him stupid but wasn't completely retarded, he picks a girl, he is not an edgelord nor a moralfag, when things go terribly wrong and there is no more options he killed.
He was really well balanced when it comes to his personality traits what made him really likeable. But his gimmicks were boring as fuck and made no sense.

I'm really enjoying this arc. The whole dungeon crawling thing is fun, and the hobo aesthetic with the giant rifle the backpack and the loli covered on fur on top is really appealing. I could really enjoy this show.
But something tells me that when they get out and get the boring costumes from the opening and the cyborg arm and start adding a bunch of random girls its gonna get pretty boring and bland.

No, it makes perfect sense if you think about magic as something that uses magicical energy to bring a desired/imagined result. Now take that concept further and assume that magic power is also used as compensation to outright defy the law of physics. That however means that the more you defy the laws in place, the less efficient the magic becomes because you "waste" magical energy to perform a potentially completely redundant miracle, while in comparison understanding the phenomena, enables one to recreate them with methods they understand and that exist in nature, hence use up considerably less magical power due to not having to "break/bend the laws of physics" in the first place.
