I like to think they had more a daughter/father relationship if anything, or maybe older brother and little sister. I didn't see it as a romantic/sexual relationship as well. I mean, yeah, she might have had feelings for Sesshomaru but I doubt it, and even then they might have been less romantic and more familial bonds.
Also let's be real here. It's not like Rin traveled with boys her own age or really got to interact with boys her own age.
