How 100% correct is this pic?

If you are found missing in a fucking inferno inside a 3storey oven for 9days, you are 100% dead. It is just a formality now, they are only announcing their dead once they get DNA confirmation.

Supposedly Kazumi is also on the missing list. Nothing official yet though it appears grim.

Wasn't Miku confirmed safe?

I sure hope so.

so "?" are pretty much dead?

It really is going to be the same shit now.

While there may be different designers working on them, some of those designs still do look quite similar. Obviously something like Nichijou has a radically different art style, but much of their stuff throughout the early to mid 2010s still looks pretty similar.

They aren't sisters.

Yes they are.

Yes but you'll still hear retards saying that finding new talent is no big deal in the land of manga and anime.

It isn't. There's no shortage of people in the country who can draw.

Even sadder since the ones at KyoAni are mostly young talents.

I hope that arsonist shit gets anal probed every day for years. A literal scum of the earth and he decides to make it more shit for everybody else.

Meh, no sympathy from me

Kazumi is 99% gone
Shouko might be alive since she isn't in the missing list. She got a good chance since the mortality rate in the 40s age group isn't that high, out of 6, 3 of them had been confirmed.

Everything I know is a lie

>Nichijou
FUCK THIS GAY WORLD AAAAAAAAAAA

RIP

I thought some of his designs were beautiful. RIP.

Being a Nichijou fan must be the worst feeling in the world. They can't catch a break.

>They hated him because he told them the truth.

Imagine being this retarded.

Nah, he's very likely to be hanged.
Japan still has the death penalty and It's death for arson over there. Not even including the 34+ murders he commited.
He's gonna get the noose, unless he offs himself or a miracle happens.

ooff youtube.com/watch?v=JwjNEzBsa14&

He's the biggest killer in Japan (Besides other guy who burned down a building with +50 people and was never found).
Even the guys from the sarin-gas attack killed less people, and they were hanged next year. Hell, Japan has hanged people for just killing 1 guy, if the justice can bypass the "mental illness" allegations and he doesn't die in the hospital he's gonna be hanged for sure.

Studios uses ceheap gooks and s chinks

I'm sure there's enough people who learned the style that can fit in.

God I want to fuck Yamada so hard.

Why is he getting the easy way out? Fuck this gay earth. He deserves some Law Abiding Citizen tier revenge.

Not KyoAni, they only had 1 Korean on their staff and he's dead too now.

Hoping Shinji survives the burns so he can be hanged really feels weird.

All I hope for him is endless torment and pain.

The 35th dead is the corean?

No he was included among the 34 I think. Is one of the missing ones.

Japs don't consider Koreans people so he hasn't been added to the death toll.

>kaikokujin, shine!

Him being tortured or killed will not bring any of the dead back.
Hasn't shounen taught you anything?

The sarin gas attack permanently injured many more people. It's a fate worse than death in some cases.

KyoAni didn't have a big hitter show in almost a decade. This won't even dent moe.

And some execs had the guts to tamper with Fire Force - a show which airs late at night. It's so bizarre.

well, it's a decade that they are stealing works from mentally-ill writers.

I didn't really care about KyoAni shows in a long time since 90% of them were shitty LN adaptations, but goddammit this still hurts.

Seems like that guy had kyoani DVD in his room afterall.
Wouldn't surprise if he was upset with the turds that kyoani had been releasing post chuu2 and took him upon himself to remove them.

>shitty movie and s2
>free flopped hard against hot garbage made by Pierrot.

Free was too much of a hit. There's like 7 sequels already.

>He was a Nichijou fan and expected a S2 which never happend until he lose it episode

>worked on Free!

Shouldn't have stole Free! from Aoba, then.

Then what do you think they should do?
Pat him in the back, put him in a mental health hospice and let him out 10 years later so he could have another revelation about a booboo anime studio that totally stole his rad ideas so he burns it down too?

>not mentioning imprisonment for life
You humans will never reform. You deserve all you get.

Why waste tax payer money supporting the life of someone who never has a chance of getting out?

Fire also permanently injures

The prisoner pays with for his life sentence with all of his present and future goods in some countries.
In general, it costs the state more if you were to execute him.

(and that's a good thing)

Attached: 1553989851461.png (756x1080, 888K)

>a shit smelling neet
>any goods worth confiscating
Heh, almost got me there user.

It's scary how effective his attack was. He wiped out half of Kyoani's senior staff. Did he know it'd work this well? Why couldn't it just have set him on fire without even injuring anyone else?

Maybe in murrika.

This guy was NEET. What could he possibly have that would be worth anything?

Death row prisioners don't enjoy life and they end up welcoming death, it's worth it.

A professional sound system.

Not American, here in italy the prisoner pays.

A family most likely, who'll bear that burden with their goods

>they are only announcing their dead once they get DNA confirmation
They had everyone identified for some time now I think. It's probably up to the families who to announce and who not.

I obsessed over his work on Koe no Katachi and Liz to Aoi Tori. He was exceptionally talented, and even though I don't know too much about him as a person I'm sure he was a good guy. Kyoani won't be the same without him. Just look at the fucking line art, it's spectacular.

Attached: __nishimiya_shouko_koe_no_katachi_drawn_by_nishiya_futoshi__42d08a974336d72b3380ab989b473b0e.jpg (2848x4086, 914K)

>Did he know it'd work this well?
I assume it was beyond most of his expectations. Unless he'd known there was no security on that day and how useful the spiral staircase would've been for spreading the smoke and such I imagine he was only expecting to take out a few before everyone escaped. If he went with the intention of breaking a window and just pouring it into one room I'm sure more would've got out then.
The only shame is so far few people involved in Hibike seem to have gone and it's only the good ones that have been confirmed dead. It would've at least had some benefit if the train autist story was true and he'd failed to get anyone related to the show.

>A family most likely
What backwards country punishes people unrelated to a crime others committed?

Fuck, he was by far my favourite designer at Kyoani. His Hyouka designs are amazing, and I'm sad we'll never see anything in that vein again from them.

>replying me with the screencap I did from Non Non Biyori movie which I later turned in to jpg to save kbs
based

The arsonist really hated Hyouka I guess. Guess the pleb filter still works.

Attached: 1393729500893.gif (515x394, 2.64M)

The punishment is the life sentence, we are talking about debt

Again, you can't force the debt of one to another unless they are legally obligated. If one of my family members, for instance, made a huge gambling debt and died and I was his only beneficiary then I could deny inheritance, it's my right to do so.

And then yakuza visits you, sends you on fishing boat slaving and then sells your organs, while your daugther gets to work in the soapland until debt is paid.

He was mad over Munto.

I know, if they deny then the debt doesn't pass to them.
If they don't, then the family pays.

Even if the family denies the inheritance, the selling of a person's property usually pays enough to sustain his staying in prison.
In the case of a NEET, that's a bit more unlikely, but that's a special case.

Therefore, in general, it's better to imprison someone for life than to kill them, from a monetary point of view.

Hibike had some cute moments but so does almost every anime. It was more of a drama, pretty much every episode had some kind of tension.

They should just throw him in a jail cell right now. No pain meds.

The thing is if he dies now, he won't be able to be held accountable for his crimes in a court of law. The man deserves a swift sentencing and an excruciating wait for its delivery. Not to pass before he can even be charged.

He's in coma, retard.
Why are people so stupid?

fitting in socially and/or being related to the existing industry members

Yeah I’m all for killing him. You can’t kill that many people and get to wake up breathing the rest of your life.

No matter what happens to that faggot, nothing's gonna change. So I don't really care what comes next. The damage has already been done and nothing will give us back these people we've lost.

Attached: 1525274328674.png (2400x1728, 2.67M)

>what are hibike and free?
Pretentious garbage and homo garbage.

There's been no evidence that any plagiarism even occurred. It was probably madness that led it to believe it was being copied.

It was just a phase. They would have learned not to overdo filters after a while. The larger danger is that their disciples will now be stuck using it thinking it's a perfect thing that must not be touched.

You know, VEG actually looks pretty good in its original context. I still don't like it as much as the cleaner look of say, Disappearance but I've started watching it recently and liked how it looks a lot more than I ever did just looking at screenshots.

Anyone got a tutorial on how they do it?

I posted it.

The visual garbage might or might not have been a phase, but the real problem was how vapid the writing has been over the past decade.

This. The only positive thing you can do in a time like this is to focus on the victims.

You're right. No standard of justice can be met in a situation like this one. I'd prefer if he wasn't afforded an easy way out, but I also don't think keeping him around as a burden is worth it.

If it were up to me it'd only cost one bullet.

What studio do you think deserved to be burned down? What studio would you have switch places with kyoani?

I don't think anybody deserves that fate. Are there studios that I'd feel less about? Sure. Is there anybody that SHOULD be burned down? Absolutely not.

>Arsonist had KyoAni DVDs at his house
It's over, anime is canceled

Attached: untitled.jpg (1227x688, 67K)

Kyoto Prefectural Police announced on Saturday evening that one more male victim of July 18's fire at Kyoto Animation's 1st Studio building passed away that afternoon. The male studio employee in his 20s had been able to evacuate the first floor of the building on his own, but had received burns throughout his body. He was then transported to a hospital where he was being treated for his injuries, until his passing before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The death toll of the blaze caused by suspected arson now stands at 35 people. 33 more people were seriously injured, and 10 of them are still hospitalized as of Saturday.

In a separate development, Honobu Yonezawa, the author of the HYOUKA novel series that Kyoto Animation adapted into a television anime, reported on Twitter on Saturday that he donated 1,000,000 yen (about US$9,200) to Kyoto Animation's relief efforts.

I don't like free but he has a history of key animation at KyoAni since early 00s so I'm happy he's safe

>23 people survived and are released from hospitalized care

With all the reports of those in comas, I was convinced that the majority of those injured weren't going to make it. I'm hoping that those still hospitalized can recover soon.

In a way, I hope the one who died is the reported amputee.

Attached: 1530247585595.jpg (940x940, 156K)

My brother got burned years ago. Fuel fumes exploded (just like KyoAni's case) and his clothes caught fire (luckily it was cotton that just burned and not nylon that could have melted). About 25% of his body got burned (mostly arms and chest) but he completely recovered.
Pictures I've seen of the arsonist when police was arresting him showed only his legs with heavy burns. So I expect him to easily survive (amputated, at most). Although I don't know if he has any other health issue that could complicate the recovery (like diabetes or whatever).

Doctors put my brother in a drug induced coma for about a week to avoid the pain of breathing (expanding the burned chest tissue) and being completely immobilized in bed with mechanical ventilation, while they performed tests.
They woke him up without issues after confirming there was no respiratory damage and they could remove the mechanical ventilator, keeping him on heavy pain killers but conscious. According to my brother, the coma was like a nap, and he remembered everything from the accident until he was sedated. But the weeks later, with the pain killers, are a blurry mix of reality and delusions.
So maybe the police wants to avoid pain killers and prefer straight up coma to preserve the veracity of the testimony?

everyone and everything is fucking dying nowadays

This. I don't want the death count to rise any higher than it has. It's already hard enough on those that are still alive.

Damn, that sounds like a rough time for your brother. Glad he survived, user.

The state of japanese media

>Arsonist lose his legs
>Day of the execution
>They pull the rope around his neck
>They just have to remove the chair and he dies hanged
In a way would be funny, a pathetic execution is what this fucker deserves

He did? Then I guess it's a matter of time until he dies.
At least from what I learned from my brother's experience, when it comes to burning it mostly reduces to whether you breathed fire in and fucked up your airways. That shit can't be treated by doctors and has to heal on its own while there's a huge foreign object (the mechanical ventilator's tube) that can cause all kinds of infections. Plus, the body is pretty busy healing tissue and fighting infections in whatever other parts got burned. So respiratory damage pretty much means death.

Can’t they just hire random people form pixiv or deviantart?

Yeah this tragedy might allow new blood to get their food in the door.

Everyone on Yea Forums is a little girl

Here's some cathartic bullshit about his execution. They have to calculate the length of the rope to hang him with so it's not too long or too short. If it's too short he'll be strangled to death. If it's too long it'll rip his head off. I hope they calculate it wrong because of his missing leg

I'm gonna be honest, as far as edge goes, being angry at the murderer of all these talented people, many of whom suffered excruciating pain, is like, at the lowest possible level of edginess. The guy isn't even saying it's "better Kyoanus is gone!" or anything!

I seriously have no idea what's the deal with the state of nu-Yea Forums. But mild gayshit was always welcomed or meme'd (see Boku no Pico for example).

I'm glad Eisaku Kawanami is alive. He is one KyoAni's strongest episode directors for Comedy centric episodes. I hope he keeps his chin up and recovers from this.

I have mistaken her for leaving. It was actually Chiyoko Ueno who left. Still. that's 3 left in their pool. I think KyoAni may heavily rely on outsource character designers at this point. Kinda like Shirabi or namo.

Wow user, it takes bravery to out yourself as a fucking faggot like this.

Might be kind of nice to get some more varied designs - but at the cost of all those lives it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth

What have you stolen lately? Did you take someone's wallet and said you "made" that money?

we get it already, sperg

And you can go back to your home of Reddit.

I was beginning my yearly rewatch of Hyouka when the incident went down. I don’t know if I have the balls to finish anytime soon. Doesn’t help that the chances of a season 2 are now probably in the negatives. Stay strong brother.

Justice isn't about bringing back the dead, justice is about justice. Not that would expect post-modern moral relativist degenerates to fathom anything remotely metaphysical.

I liked the first season, despite the manservice and slight retardation. I also watched the second. The animation was nice and I guess they wore out many magic wands in making it.

Apparently only 10 of them are still in the hospital, the rest were discharged.

user... they're all going to die... you don't survive this shit...

birdie boiler ftw

74 victims. 6 were not employees. 5 unharmed?
34 injured. 9 in critical condition. 1 had legs amputated.
Kawanami Eisaku and Naoko Yamada confirmed safe.
35 deaths. 34 needed DNA for identification but it's been done already. 2 died in hospital, 33 in situ. 15 were in their 20s years old, 11 in their 30s, 6 in their 40s, 1 in their 60s and 1 unknown.
Naomi Ishida, Sachie Tsuda, Yasuhiro Takemoto and Futoshi Nishiya confirmed dead.

There was still the chance that even if it wasn't specifically Hyouka, they'd make a series with a similar feel and now it's fucking gone. Who the fuck murders a bunch of anime artists, it's like murdering people that make hats

Since day 1 when the fire happened, I've been thinking of the long term ramifications this will have for otaku culture and the anime industry. The fact is, non-otaku in Japan would have associate this heinous act with "otaku" even if the killer hadn't had boxes of KyoAni DVDs. What immediate effects this will have on the industry is still a little unclear, but I can think of a few ways this will go south.

Bones, Trigger, the Sunrise studios, the Pierot Studios and the Toei studios

I want a complete death of the anime industry and these are the ones that would really cave in the landscape of the current industry and force a revolution. Hopefully all the artists and staff get out if it does happen since I think the loss of resources and work space would be more than enough to force a revolution but in the event that it wouldn't, sacrifices always have to be made.

holy... i dont have a pic to accurately describe how sad this actually makes me, so here is a happy lucky star pic i had laying around ;_;

Been thinking this is the beginning of the end for the anime industry for awhile now.

I have a hard time believing this will be twisted to fuel an attack on the anime industry considering the circumstances, it would basically amount to blaming the victim in this case. At least, that's what I'd like to think.

He did the designs for Hyouka?

A fucking shame, those are by far my favorite KyoAni character designs.
It'd been a shame anyway but it makes me mad on top because, Hyouka is definitely in my top 5.

Rest in peace.

The loss of talent is what worries me more than shifting attitudes towards anime. There seems to have been an immediate and torrential outpouring of support for KyoAni, though as someone not living in Japan I guess I can't be the best judge of the general mood of the country.

I think that's a much more valid reason to be concerned, to be honest. Like I said, it could be wishful thinking but I personally really doubt that people are going to look at some guy attacking the studio that made stuff like Violet Evergarden and Sound! Euphonium and think "this stuff creates psychos who want to commit mass murder!" But then I don't live in Japan either so I'm no more qualified to talk about the general consensus of the Japanese on this matter either.

So this was posted in another thread. Apparently the arsonist was caught in 2006 for stealing underwear. Can someone confirm this?

Attached: 1564180147822.jpg (1231x693, 110K)

>underwear thieves will become mass murders
>up the penalty for stealing underwear and put it on the same level as murder
>don't touch the fire code
Glorious nippon, Nanking was worth it.

It wasn't found two dead girls hugging each other in the third floor?

Even though the autopsy said that a great number of them died burned alive, the fact that they were hugging each other tells me that this girls (and probably all 19 of the third floor) at least died from the smoke poisoning, and not burned alive. Fire don't let you hug anything, you just desperately spasm out of pain and can't focus in any specific action (like hugging), so even when this doesn't change the fact that they died. At least decreases the emotional impact of thinking that these great directors and animators suffered one of the most painful death that exists, they just went unconscious and died, before the fire reached them.

Ever heard of a lawyer?

You can mourn both, user. Is living even worth it anymore?

>It wasn't found two dead girls hugging each other in the third floor?
No, it was just one user's shitpost.

Is it fucking Yukie or Sachie? Everybody posts a different thing.

That's what it says.

I don't think so. The guy was crazy in several aspects of his life (confirmed mental issues, prison time, violence with neighbors) and the motive (plagiarism, so far) is not directly related to anime and happens in lots of industries.

Fuck, user. Just when I thought I couldn't felt worse about this whole thing.

>The death count went up again
aw man

>Just when I thought I couldn't felt worse about this whole thing.

More confirmations are going to come and you will feel increasingly worse with each one.

The media has always sensationalized otaku. Relatively recently they branded someone as an otaku since they found a gaming console in their house

With a prison system like that, you get high recidivism rates. When he stole the panties, they had their chance to get his life back on track but instead they just made it worse, and by the time he was robbing the store, it was already too late.

imagine if we never die he would spewing that garbage forever...

My will to live has considerably died down.

>stole pantsu
>rob a konbini
>set on fire an anime studio burning to death 35 people and give severe burns to another 34
Well that scalated quickly

>up the penalty for stealing underwear and put it on the same level as murder
Which means no any reason to leave the victim alive after stealing her pantsu.

I was watching Hibike and this red triangle appeared in a window. After the KyoAni fire, the window with the safe drawing had also a red triangle.
This means is the window from where firefighters can get in the building?

Attached: red triangle.jpg (1296x2090, 472K)

Yes. The residents are not allowed to obstruct these windows in any way.

it's to indicate to fire crews which window slides open

Hyoka got a live-action version, maybe he got that money from them and decided to give it to the cause, after all the anime was fine and he got in good terms with the staff, which is seeing to be mostly dead by now.

Then it's more tragic that in one of those windows was were the drawing was found safe. The place were firefighters should get in to end the fire was were the things scalated less in that inferno.

Between taxes, bookstores and publishing companies taking their respective cuts and the costs of printing, shipping, etc, the author only gets a tiny cut of each sale. It's a similar story for merch and other non-book things he also gets a tiny cut out of. Now obviously if he can afford to donate 1kk yen, he's making a pretty decent amount of money, but I doubt he's making enough that he can just donate 1kk to random causes he hardly cares about every week.

Never posted about it, because I already gave in to the despair.
Also directed VEG ep 10.

and last one. Arson had to remind himself to turn off the lights from his house with a paper on his door.

Not anime

Disney should take over all entertainment industries in Japan.

He was Ishidate's protegee and worked often with Yamada. Goddamit.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I've drank about 6 days already ever since horrible event. Welp, here we go again

None. Some if not all of these people work on animation because they love it. Why would I want harm on people with passion and desires?

Doesn't need to be, troll, just needs to pertain to it. Live action isn't anime but it's allowed here if it's related to an anime/manga.

I've never liked that rule about live action. I would abhor a timeline where live action anime adaptations got even a slight glimpse of popularity like the marvel capeshit universe and everything in this board is shitposting about that. It's already terrible with the amount of ongoing shonen threads but adding that possibility would make this place unbrowsable.

More to do with the fact that Kyoani was consistently the highest quality animation and visuals in an industry increasingly dominated by a flood of low budget crap. Now, a good portion of their best talent is either dead or will never work again.

I'm pro like action adaptations. With actual 2d dying, it's better than 3dcg at least.

Wait, I thought all the victims were female because the arsonist did it because KyoAni hired female staffers and he couldn't handle that. Are you saying some militant cunt on Twitter was making shit up to further her political agenda?

>Are you saying some militant cunt on Twitter was making shit up to further her political agenda?
If you read anything at all on Twitter, it's more likely to be someone making shit up to further their political agenda than true.

You are american, aren't you?

Unironically literally who

Hyouka, Nichijou, Free, Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuuutsu, Koe no Katachi and Liz to Aoi Tori character designer, look how big his range was. He's a big loss, everybody involed in Hyouka is fucking dying.

Can't imagine what his "novel" is like

>Boy falls in love with a girl, but at the end his confession is a half confession and everything keeps the same
>OMG, THEY STOLE MY WORK, I'LL BURN THEM TO DEATH
something like that

Then why not go to Yea Forums instead? The knowledge I have over animators, composers, script writers, etc. on anime does not carry over live action adaptations, wouldn't that cause a big divide in the board with similar anons?

>Then why not go to Yea Forums instead?
Why would i? I don't watch or like live action but it better than cgshit. I prefer actual 2d anime.

>wouldn't that cause a big divide in the board with similar anons?
Good. Let the board die, it'll be meaningless at that point anyway. Things wont be the same. If real 2d anime is destined to die then i hope we get much more live action or photo-realistic 3dcg that looks indistinguishable from it. Like Gantz.

What do you have against 3dcg?

What do you want to bet he never even sent it in to Kyoani and just assumed they stole it by sucking it out of his brain? Kyoani president already said he had never heard of the guy.

My guess is that he sent his novel in for the award - it was denied - and then his deluded schizo self just couldn't handle it

It looks like shit and even when it doesn't i don't fucking want it, i want 2d style. It was forced into a lot of my favourite shows to cut corners. It's more economical than traditional animation so it naturally becomes more prominent. You can't watch a single show anymore without having to put up with disgusting 3d vehicles. It killed mecha and it's in the process of killing the rest of anime.

80 percent of anons here are Americans.

the worst part is that the names will just keep coming in. Slowly.
I understand the families wanting privacy, but I just wish it wasn't torture to wait like this.

hah same here but i still go on

With him and Takemoto gone is there any reason to anticipate for new kyoani? They have been pretty bland lately and with Yamada being the new face of kyoani we are just going to get more yuribait forced drama kino works.

>yuribait forced drama kino works
get a life you buzzword spewing moron

keep pretending to be sad its def helping them rebuild the studio

Fuck everything.

Death penalty in Japan isn't exactly the easy way out
> Confined to a solitary cell
> Only allowed out 2 times a week for exercise, not sure how long but probably an hour each
> No rights of a Japanese citizen
> No rights of a Japanese prisoner
> General treatment is up to the warden
> Only thing you're really allowed to do in your cell is read (by the way, you're only allowed 3 books)
Japan's death row makes fucking Spokane County look like a five star resort. Mother fucker is going to suffer seriously.
