She doesn't need to, but it'd be nice. Ran's First Investigation and the Ski Lodge case are probably as close as we've gotten, but the first one was filler and the second one was Shinichi guiding her through the deduction the whole time.
It's just something I'd like to see. People don't like her being around to just talk about Shinichi because its some shitty women stereotype or something, and her being scared of everything and screaming gets old to people too. I'm fine with her how she is, but putting her in a situation to investigate would be interesting.

Think about it, with the sharper edges there's bound to be worse shots on a weekly schedule due to the pace than a rounder style. Also the default anime character design already looks worse than the manga's current look.

I don't know if rights are an issue, they aren't usually and iirc they are mostly if not all under the same studio. I'm not entirely sure how the rights work for stuff like this. They kept Nazo and its ED for the Kidnapped Artist and Conan vs Kid remasters though.

You're in a thread where its fans discuss it, you're going to hear yes. Though the art style of the anime gets rougher halfway through, I think it was by 600 it fully hit its modern version. The plot has progressed but the focus of the series from the very beginning was villain of the week. You can jump in pretty much anywhere around the beginning but later on arcs become ongoing for much longer and can sort of show up in casual cases.
Just start at the beginning, I prefer the anime but people have their reasons to suggest starting with the manga. I think it hits its stride around Season 5 anime wise but the stuff before that is really good and back when Conan was his cutest, which helped show contrast between brutal murders and a kid detective.

I got about 25 of them, but they're mostly raw along with a few in Chinese that didn't have a corresponding Japanese version. And some of them I got from hitomi.la after exh went down, so they may or may not be compressed depending on the state of the original files. I don't know if they're worth sharing with others or not, I just got them for my own collection in a hurry.
I heard Hitomi is also based in the Netherlands so it may also be vulnerable. Nhentai is in Sweden if I recall but I don't know the legal situation there.
It sounds like the site owner eventually calmed down and agreed to cooperate with others to relocate the site, but I don't know if he had a complete backup of the exh-only files. I hope there's a chance of the site returning eventually under new administration with all the original data.
