Watched it after reading the manga. Overall liked the manga better but Crybaby did some things really well. I wasn't sure I'd like the art style after seeing some images on Yea Forums but it looked good in motion and overall it was pretty well animated. The addition of the track stuff and the extended fighting near the end were really nice.

Maybe that's an overstatement, but watching was kinda how I would have imagined a non-spoiled NGE watch through must be like. I genuinely expected the show to be some upbeat, energetic homolust action adventure. So when shit got worse and worse and worse for everyone involved those moments really hit hard.
Also the ending just made me feel fucking empty.
