Vash is an utter idiot. You can't save both the spider and the butterfly.
Rewatching this series is tough.

Why can you save both? Are you a cripple?

Isn't that kind of the point, with Vash finally offing his brother at the end?
The real obnoxious stuff isn't that he's naive, it's for how long and and how much work had to go into it for Vash to STOP being a little pussy.
P.S.Manga/show would have been ten times better if it had stayed away from the whole Muh Hyperspace Babby/Muh Existential Angst and focused on Vash doing Vash stuff with bad guys.

>Vash finally offing his brother at the end?
he doesn't though

He does in his heart.

He carries the fucker off to start over. Presumably millions more will die next time around.

I thought the point of Trigun was that you CAN'T always save everybody and you CAN'T always be a pacifist and that Vash had to learn that the hard way.

Don't bully Vash, he's a good kid.

He's a retard who is fooling around for too long.
Wolfwood would be a better protag.

Well too bad, you can't be a protag when you're dead!

>spoiler
Have to disagree only because it'd mean we wouldn't get Wolfwood's death, the best scene in the show, but that aside you're right

Its a simple child's point of view on life. Its not hard to understand.

white and niggerpilled

>You can't save both the spider and the butterfly.

Imagine not understanding what the scene is about? Imagine not finishing the anime at all?

The manga did the backstory of Vash and Knives so much better.

Vash knows he can't save everyone, but he tries anyways, because constantly trying to save everyone is the only way for him to deal with the guilt over those he couldn't save.

It would have been better if the series stayed more 'grounded'. The Plant plot was weak compared to the rest, it didn't match-up to the characters and setting.
Knives and Vash could have been normal outlaws instead of Plants and not much would have been needed to be changed.

Yeah I didn't like the whole "we are actually plant/aliens" sort of shtick. I would have been fine with them being outlaws as well.

I love ruroken because it had similar themes, but which would you say did the whole no killing thing better? Anime and manga included.

Does the manga have major differences from anime, or it's mostly the same but more expanded?

Basara did

Anime has some filler stuff that never happened in the manga pre-Legato but otherwise is nearly identical. Once Legato and the Gung Ho Guns enter the picture after the first couple fights it starts to diverge heavily, most of the Gung Ho Guns have different roles/personalities and in fact some of them are completely different characters like the sniper guy in the anime is some weird tranny in the manga. Wolfwood's backstory in the manga is a lot different (and dumber in my opinion) and he also the circumstances of his death are different and he is essentially replaced by another somewhat similar character Mryl and Millie are also much less prominent in the manga, especially after the shift in tone once Legato shows up.

Was that from Badland's Rumble? Gosh, it's been so long since I watched/read everything Trigun.
It's too bad they didn't make the game.

Its compassion over logic op. So you wouldn't understand until the feeling comes to you when it does.

Vash will keep him locked up

In your opinion, which one is better? Manga or anime?

I know dubs werent great but this was the best role Jonny Yong Vosh had. I can tell that guy doesnt get many roles out side of cool guy characters. Bet vash was very liberating for him.

Watch the anime first since its only 24 episodes i think. Plus Wolfwood is really good in the anime imo.

Remake by Trigger with Watanabe as director would be amazing.

Wolfwood was my favorite character but Vash was the only one who could be the main character

Trigun but both are good

I like the anime better but most people say manga.

It's not like either takes a very nuanced approach towards it, though I'd say Trigun looks more into breaking down Vash's ideals than Kenshin does, where there's ALWAYS some sort of convenient outcome that prevents Kenshin from breaking his oath. Though I don't know about past the Kyoto arc.

Trigun because eventually Vash had to pull the trigger.
Everything fell on Kenshin's lap very conveniently so he didn't need to kill again Saito killing the opponents that had no chance of redemption, Shishio's being already dead due to his fucked up body, Enichi having a mental breakdown, etc.

Childhood is thinking the manga is cooler.

Adulthood is realizing the anime was a distillation of everything the manga wanted to achieve.

This, Vash killing Legato is one of the best, most well-executed scenes ever. They built up to it a lot and you could feel the tension when it was about to happen.

The first time and only time I watched Trigun, it looked like a joyous ride.
But no, it's space cowboy Rurouni Kenshin with an even worse emokid story.
And yes, Rurouni Kenshin got on my nerves as well, with all the emoing and repetitive story-arcs.

I was shocked when I finally read the manga and found that more than half of the anime was anime-original filler.

I liked Rurouni Kenshin, but all the filler pissed me off.

>distillation of everything the manga wanted to achieve.
No. The manga was able to resume after the anime, it achieved whatever Nightow intended to do from the start. Everything later in the anime is original, and I dislike how different it is from Nightow's style of making loveable characters.

Why was he called Legato Tightbottom?

Attached: Legato.jpg (704x528, 59K)

Oh...
Maybe gotta read the manga to see whether I missed out on a fun story.

... i think trigger shouldnt. There is a certain style that trigger goes by and trigun really plays the western steampunk style that trigger cant emulate, or at least couldnt bring the same feel that the original had.

Trigger can’t produce good anime so, no.

Imagine being such a brainlet that when faced with the entire point of the series you refuse to understand

>every character should be the punisher

Why do you think TRIGGER wouldn't be able to capture the steampunk western aesthetic?

They've shown the ability to visually do stuff other than hyper kinetic Imaishi shit, and you'd want hyper kinetic Imaishi animation for gunfights.

>You can't save both the spider and the butterfly.
Doesn't matter, you try anyways because that's what's right.

You're saying it like he doesn't know. He knows that his entire existence is somehow useless and people are dying anyway, that's why he's so depressed.
But that's not the point, it's up to people to decide how to live. He's saving their lives and giving them a chance to start over. It isn't that stupid and naive as it might look at first glance.

read the manga

You can eat them both though.

The funny thing is that it was his first role

If you just want a fun story then Kekkai Sensen may be better for you

>killing the spider and not the butterfly
knives is the real idiot

I wish we got a true adaptation. Id kill to see Livio animated.

But that's just killing both in the long term

Yeah I think the industry really sucks away your soul that you come off generic.

it's just logic vs morality
if you agree with knives you're a cold hearted robot and if you agree with vash you're a bleeding heart pussy

Not quite true.
He beat enishi but accepted death at his hand. Sure the story could have ended there but then you just killed off your mc.

He gave the best performance of his career just last year though

Based Knives
FUCK spiders

finally someone said it

Sorry what I mean to say that Trigger has a different feel all together that when you see the style you know that's trigger. But Trigun gives off the feel of more realistic style and proportionate details. Trigger, and I love them still, really relies on strong dynamic View Points. Trigun is more realistic pov for the audience.

I wouldn't mind seeing one by Madhouse after seeing Badlands Rumble

>You can't save both the spider and the butterfly.
>remove butterfly from web
>feed spider obnoxious fly
There, both saved.
>but the fly!
Fuck the fly, the question was about saving the butterfly and spider, not the fly.
