I never got a chance to see if they have anything Conan related I can't find normally and now it's too late. If you can do anything please try. I'm hearing a variety of things aren't mirrored or backed up in they aren't hentai. Artbooks, regular doujins, etc. If they have any of that for Conan that can't easily be found elsewhere it needs to be saved.

I sat on my ass too long, I didn't think I needed anything off that site, and now I don't know if I truly missed anything and today I was just started to compile all the Conan material in this regard, it's shit luck. There's no chance for me to do anything with this and everyone is scrambling for explicit loli/other hentai stuff instead of anything else.

There's been a lot of talk about Conan doujins and how hard some can be to find, if they were ever on the internet in the first place, now this. Of course, this is a blow beyond DC material. It's so much shit going down.

Check the catalog a bit harder. Sad panda is killed. Aside from certain hentai they housed a lot of stuff that wasn't even hentai at all. Like artbooks and non-H doujins. I never used it so I don't know what Conan content is about to be erased.

The guys on shotachan have already backed up literally every Conan doujin in existence.

Doujins aside I'm wondering what they have of the series.

Conan is off most people's radar that are currently scrapping everything they can. We have one user here but he has his own stuff to take care of too. Conan isn't priority for the others and most people putting thought into what to save are after very specific artbooks and the like. I'm sure some DC related stuff will be saved but no one has said they are directly trying for it, it's just whatever is in certain tags really that'll be gotten the most.

I think a lot of that will be Haibara though, the loli stuff is pretty high on the list since that's what caused this entire fiasco. There are literally over a thousand people getting their favorites and trying to help archive old things, we can hope Conan sneaks into it. I just hope most of what they get isn't the basic stuff you can find anywhere else. Too much is going to be lost for good and there wasn't a lot of time for people who weren't saving absolutely everything from the day they got in.

Other than Conan, I'm wishing the others best of luck in getting what they can.

You can sign up but there's that multi-day thing between that and getting past the panda block. Others have already tried and everyone insists there is no way for a new user to get in before its done. Though there are still cryptic posts saying there's always a way they never say what it is.

Well, like I said, a lot of it is already on nhentai, although maybe in lower quality. So far I haven't come across a lot of non-h Conan stuff.

It's mostly doujins, and mostly BL at that, but the exception is a book called Conan Drill which is a book of DC analysis published by the editors of Shounen Sunday. I've read some complaints about it on Japanese sites because it wasn't authorized by Gosho and contradicts and criticizes the series, but it might be interesting to save. Probably the raws also exist elsewhere.

Doing gods work. The BL shit can burn in the fire but save that good stuff like Drill and anything else. The BL stuff is probably the more popular backed up stuff anyway I'd imagine.

The older stuff that's become a true rarity, artist doodles and non-h and other scans that weren't scrapped by nhentai and similar places, etc. Conan is worse off for this stuff because so much goes unuploaded in the first place.

Despite the thread, non-Conan is very important too. The fact so many are doing this at once ensures a sizeable amount can be saved, but there's no way it can be all. Just be glad we had what time we did instead of it just being immediate I guess.

The good news is that I found what seems to be the same scan of Conan Drill at another site conan-magic.com/raws.html which also has a lot of other nice DC magazine scans, so I don't have to download it from ExH.

Another interesting thing I found on ExH that isn't backed up on Nhentai are some anthologies of Conan doujinshi that were professionally published in Taiwan with ISBNs and everything (likely without the permission of the doujin artists). I'm not going to have time to download them all.

I'm sure that category is having stuff lost to the flames too. As for series material, we used to have teases in the movies sometimes but the direction has shifted away from Conan entirely and Haibara is already hurting for some screen time.

It sucks that this is on your shoulders but I respect you for doing what you can. Everyone else is out there fighting the good fight too, it just very likely has nothing to do with preserving Conan. Even if most of it is stuff I personally have no investment in, saving anything is what matters. I'm sure there are non-Conan things you saved too, hopefully you got what you needed.

I've downloaded a few things, now I'm out of credits. Most Conan-related galleries I've looked up are either already on nhentai or are things I'm not interested in. I'm getting so many error messages that it's hard to download at all.

Pretty sure it's just It seems to be very close to the end at this point. I don't know how much longer we have, but it's not enough.

I guess the law was passed today and the sites have to comply in an incredibly short time frame. Otherwise it was clear that at the very least Joe wanted to help save things, giving out credits for example, Tenboro on the other hand seems to want everything resolved as quickly as possible and isn't considering anything helpful. I've heard people have stepped in with large sums of money and he hasn't spoken a word. Maybe he can't, maybe he doesn't want to.

Everything I hear makes it sound like he is fed up with the site in general and this was his way out.

I don't really feel like using Jdownloader due to the bad experience I had with it years ago. I think I'm satisfied with what I've been able to download.

It turned out to just be two that weren't already on nhentai. These are real gems; they include some doujinshi (maybe excerpted or abridged from their original books) that go for very expensive prices on the used market, and haven't been scanned before to my knowledge. They have been translated into Chinese and I don't know how accurate the translations are without access to the original. Also, the names of the authors have been removed, so I don't know who drew the ones I don't recognize.
I'll download the rest of them from nhentai later. I know some of them are sized down from the originals, but I'm tired now.

Most of the galleries that were exhentai-only were hers, along with any Ayumi porn or Conan shotacon/ss. I don't know if they're duplicated on other sites or not. I prioritized the things that I'm interested in, which weren't only DC related.
You guys should have made your own accounts there if you were interested in any of those things. Too bad this all had to happen so suddenly.

I do, it's just most of it was already backed up elsewhere. Mostly what I did tonight was crosscheck titles on my favorites and search results with nhentai since there's no way to download them all in their original quality with how slow the site was being. I just mentioned that to explain what DC-related themes were excluded from e-h. The list of galleries on exhentai with the Detective Conan tag number twice as many as what's available on e-h.
What I'm really sad about is all of the non-DC-related loli and artbooks that won't have a chance to get archived anywhere. Mostly I went to exhentai for those.

While my focus is on DC, I agree that all the other stuff is a huge blow. There are a lot of people talking about the artbook side of things, and loli was one of the highest priority tags, so hopefully that means a large percentage of those were gotten. Overlap is going to be a bitch though. It's depressing to think about, but at this point aside from regrouping what was saved, there's no use in mourning it all for too long.

I consistently fall into the trap of thinking about stuff like what could have been and what has been lost, so I'm not really one to say that though. I'm going to have to live with the content that couldn't be saved disappearing, but it isn't the end of the world. It just sucks really hard.

I'm just irritated by how the admin didn't give anyone else a chance to take over the site and move it somewhere else, instead shutting it down so suddenly. From what I heard that Dutch law was already in effect since last year.
Too much content gets lost forever. There was the Jap Geocities shutdown this year. Old 2ch and Pink Channel threads get paywalled and then deleted eventually. Countless Japanese fansites from the golden age of Conan in the mid-90s to mid-00s never got saved to the Wayback Machine (especially the R18 secret sites). Art that was only posted to Pixiv or Twitter and then deleted. And then all of the tens of thousands of doujinshi that never got scanned. Part of that has to do with the Japanese mentality about exclusivity and throwing away old things. They also make excuses about the legal grey area that fanworks belong in, but I think at least part of the problem has to do with their insecurity and lack of pride about their own creations.
I hate thinking about everything that was lost too. But I want to create my own content to make it up for at least myself. I don't have any talent but I'm trying anyway.

It could have went down for a bit while moving but still been safe and brought back later on. Instead the site wasn't even dead yet and everything was being wiped gradually. It's over. There was no effort on his part to do anything, apparently everything we've got so far was Maximum Joe's doing, I know he did the credits handout thing for sure.

Geocities shutting down was when I really wanted to start saving old Conan stuff, but I was never able to make progress, I did the hard to find reruns and remasters google drive but it sucks that that's all I've been able to do. I wanted to preserve old fan stuff, that's really worth saving. Shit like the wayback machine is so broken half the time, I couldn't really get anything out of it. Everything's disappearing and it's happening too fast. In some cases it happened before I even had a chance. Seeing old stuff like classic doujins and old fansites are one of the most interesting things to me, and its becoming ridiculous how tough its been getting. Sure the hentai is good for porn's sake but I have interest in it beyond that. It's part of why the non-H interested me.

I'll eventually try for my own content too, but I'm too fixated on the past and I am way too nervous to post anything I make, even stuff I like. It's really only useful for text since image links are usually broken. I've read a lot of old fanfics on there. But it sure is frustrating to be reading some long serialized story, then get to the ending and find out there's no copy of it anywhere on the internet.

The Japanese word フェミニスト isn't only used to mean "feminist" as in the English meaning of the female empowerment political movement, but when applied to men usually means they are chivalrous or gentlemen in how they treat women.
I'd say the second definition applies to Shinichi/Conan; he is generally nicer to girls than to guys.

Have you even read the manga? Jumping into random episodes instead of reading the manga or starting from the beginning of the anime seems like it'd do you no favors. You don't really need to know much before watching one but still. I guess watch Haibara's introduction and the Contact with the Organization one that is from. Desperate Revival is commonly seen as a great arc though Haibara is more of a cunt than usual.

I've had this feeling recently because a lot of stuff is dying and a lot of it is what I use. It would be very unsurprising to me if Yea Forums died within the next few years. But I think if anything it'll just go so far to shit I wont want to use it anymore, that'd be worse than the site going away. It's already getting to that point and has been for awhile.
