Why did they have to change it to Stands? the series was far better in the Hamon era
Why did they have to change it to Stands? the series was far better in the Hamon era
Aside from part 3's dip in quality the series has improved in every sense, from fights to characters to story.
I forgot it's name but didn't Araki's older work had some bio-virus Star Plat?
Maybe it had nice feedback so he used it again
That's what everyone thinks when they start Stardust Crusaders. Keep watching, it gets better.
i've watched the whole series and don't get me wrong i like stands, i just think hamon was more interesting
Please keep watching/reading. Stands are so much better than hamon.
Actually, according to jojo canon, stands are basically ripple/ hamon, since the stand furigana, yuuhamon, translates to as ghost ripple. Sorry, but thats the truth.
How do you figure.
Stands mean anybody can be a tough fight and not just the swolest guy
Weren’t the stands retconed to a virus in part 5 and considering in the later parts of the series the methods are still some kind exposure to strange agent, they probably still are a virus
I didn't like the Hamon era. It was always feeling underpowered
>Oops, Im out of breath. I'm powerless now LOL
I liked hamon a bit more too, but there's only so much you can do with it, stand abilities are endless and without constraints. Araki couldn't have kept writing for decades with just hamon
Why is this pose a thing? What's the origin?
It wasn't a virus, but if it were, than why is it called ghost ripple?
Hamon had rules and was only especially effective against vampires and pillarmen who created them. Pillarmen were already seriously fucking reaching too(basically vamps, but stronger).
Stands can be literally fucking anything. Gives Araki more to write.
>le magic karate that does everything
>better than specialized and often niche abilities that require strategy
Part 5 told us that stands come from space. The arrows that give stands are made from a metal found in a meteorite. It's possible this metal has been on earth for a while too to explain natural stands.
Basically, like a mini Transformers, in that context
>karate fights with beams are more interesting than fights where both opponents need to constantly outsmart each other to work around extremely unique abilities
>stands come from space
dumb speedreader
theres also the theory that hermit purple is the stand of hamon.
that's not how it works. Stands are a natural thing that certain people can get even without being hit by an arrow. The metal from the meteor had a virus on it and if it infected someone with stand potential would draw out that stand. At least in the orginal universe, stands in parts 7-8 seem to exclusively come from Jesus
That could be true...
Spin is a better version of Hamon, fight me
not even an objectionable statement
You're a brainlet, sorry bro
PRAISE JESUS!
part 7 also mentions a falling star that landed in the desert so it keeps the space angle but adds Jesus
Its a magic corpse, dippuses
As bullshit as it sounds consider the actual arrows as the virus.Whoever is worthy gains a stand as somewhat of a resistance whilst those who aren't mentally strong enough die.The meteorite the stand arrows where crafted from was described as an alien virus.
JoJo was always just a vehicle for Araki to make up good fights. Early parts required Araki to come up with a plot to excuse those fights, but now he can just randos show up with a magic power.
I wryy that feel, man
when does this series start to get bad? im halfway through stardust crusaders and just realized how many episodes there are. im going to be here forever.
Stardust crusaders is the weakest part
HAHAHAHAHAHAH
NO
Part 3 is my favorite part
why? because i prefer something that you don't?
Correct.
Much like a person with Down Syndrome prefers drooling on themselves while I don't.
Yes, that's exactly why
If Pillar Men get a a Stand, what it will be?
Did they say the meteorite that landed can grant you a stand if you stay in the place were it landed
Santana - Smooth
Whamu - Careless Whisper
Esidisi - T.N.T
Kars - Drive
it worked the exact same as the stand arrow so theoretically yes but no one present was worthy
parts 2, 3, and 5 are the bad ones.
Because then they couldn't drag it out for 30 years.
Lets also remember that those who were worthy may have passed their stands down as well. Kakyoin most likely got his stand by being born from Stand users.
