The plot is generic as fuck and MC is meh. Actually only Kurumi can save the entire cast of this anime. However the spirits power are kinda interesting to a shounenfag like me (using tree of life is really cool). And the plot twist near the end of the light novel is kinda good (fucked up too). So its bad but not my most disliked anime. Ss2 and 3 still suck tho.

Naming the tree of life is nothing more than a novelty since the powers are generic at best. Kurumi isn't complex at all. Her goals are backed by stupid logic, she is very insecure of her own actions, her powers are very limited. She never takes risks even in life or death situations because she is too much of a coward. Her lack of scenes gives her little to no characterization, she has no development, etc. So can you compare her to Mio?
