That episode makes me uncomfortable. Part 1 mask episode is lighthearted fun where they try and get him to take his mask off of his own free will by buying him food. Shippuden mask episode they all team up and hold him down. Shikamaru forces him to unmask while Sukea is standing there with a camera. I know it was all according to keikaku, but still.

Naruto's a good time until right after the **** fight. Then it quickly degrades. Everything before shippuden is a must watch at least ;. ;

Where you currently are in the story, Naruto is still enjoyable. Things generally start moving downhill at the time skip but still salvagable up until a certain particular arc. It's downhill from that point on

The naruto universe is so deep and well fleshed out. I don't know where kishimoto got the idea of hand signs, but it's fucking genius to me. I also like how much the signs lean on real world electric circuit concepts. Like how they figured out how to take shortcuts with jutsu. e.g. the water dragon jutsu can take up to16 hand signs to produce while the 2nd hokage figure out how to do it in 2.

pretty sure hand signs just help you control jutsu, but aren't fundamentally required if you have a knack for a jutsu or get used to it. Hitlerkage had a lot of water jutsu experience

I think the only jutsu that does not need hand signs are the ones involving pure chakra, i.e rasengan, water walking, tree climbing. The chidori uses like 9 hand signs but I guess the author had no choice but to buff it so that it could compete against rasengan later on. Either that or sasuke just does the handsigns so fast we can't see it

I never finished Naruto and I probably never will. I already been spoiled on the ending so it's not a big deal, I got bored with Naruto sometime after Itachi dies in the manga (I was reading along with updates, must have been a decade ago). It was a fun anime as a kid, but definitely doesn't scrape the top 10 for me now.

BUT I will recommend any weeb who hasn't seen Naruto watch at least watch the first 50 episodes. Because holy shit that Gaara vs Rock Lee fight in the chunin exams...still one of my favorite fights of all time. I don't remember half of the Naruto I've seen but still remember every SECOND of this fight. The taking off the weights, the kick in the head, the gate opening...it's fucking 10/10 perfect. Fuck Naruto, Lee best character.

It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and DARKNESS. The normal user can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.

Honestly this. If you don't watch the series in full, you should at least watch the parts involving Garra. Garra vs Lee is the high point of the first part of the series, and honestly not a lot of parts in Shippuden can top it.

the early episodes of one piece have great world building and atmosphere but skip ahead to the episodes in the 800's and they make boruto look like a mature anime.

It's too long. First half is boring as fuck and it was like one year's worth of chapters. Obito/Madara parts are great but edo tensei everybody is a clusterfuck. Boring fights, reopening old wounds for no reason (Asuma, Gaara's father), supposedly strong characters job (Sasori, Deidara, Kakuzu) or otherwise just die off screen (seven swordsman besides Zabuza), important characters like Naruto aren't even in it (this one is kind of necessary since he's training), potentially emotional but not rehashed face offs never occur (Suigetsu vs Mangetsu, Juugo vs Kimimaro, Dan vs Tsunade, etc. there are a ton of these they could have gone with instead of reopening old wounds). Basically all assets are mismanaged for an entire year and this produces no plot development or character development besides Naruto taming Kurama. If after the five Kage summit they immediately unmasked Tobi and revived Madara the entire story would be the same. Worst part is despite stretching out the most boring part, they condensed the final parts making the resolution feel hasty. Editors meddled the shit out of the series due to how popular it was and it suffers as a result.

It was a mess.
