Actual answer is all the characters are of drinking age and it follows the art style of the manga. It is the most ecchi long running shonen on daytime tv though iirc.

in my opinon, i find the setting and characters to be great. the interactions and relationships between all of the characters is entertaining. it's such a shame that it became friendship powerup rinse and repeat until the end rushed bullshit.
