Figure 17

Good loli space sci fi SoL anime! One episode is 45 minutes though

Attached: figure.jpg (1024x768, 165K)

It's great and very underrated.

Literally my favorite anime. Still mad they kill best twin.

Some day I will find in myself the willpower needed to get past the first two episodes and watch Figure 17 till the end.
Some day.

any cute and funny moments

Sorry the person you loved like a real sister died, here's a bird.

why did I click this spoiler...

I tried to protect you.

>zero seeds on nyaa
everytime

Good anime, very 2001-ish.
Still mad, though I knew it was coming. I guess better than having the ayliuns dissect her.

When I saw your image I was really surprised.
This usually only surfaces in 'anime only you saw' threads.

Great I guess I better not waste my time now that I know what happens

FUCK

stream with me

you won't believe me but it was 3rd anime I have ever seen in my life (from my own will), I started in 2017. How did I find it? well, I was trying to search some oddities from this chart

Attached: AMINE.jpg (1019x4715, 1.28M)

Figure 17 is the highest power level you can reach without degenerating into watching obscure H shit.

That chart is very accurate, but cheating your way down the rabbit hole doesn't count. If you haven't worked your way down from the VERY top, you're a fraud.

Attached: smugman (2).png (374x392, 143K)

it counts because I have masters degree in literature and I can find anime on my own using reliable sources
besides, who cares, I don't have time for watching fucking everything from Naruto do DbZ, I'm 30

>masters degree in literature
>I'm 30
Try again in next life desu.

I thought it was a bit boring. 45 minute episodes are just too long for something like this.

It gave time for the loli life stuff and the monster fights.

Just pretend it's 26 eps? I agree the pacing is slow, but, unlike most 2 cour anime where it's due to incompetence of production staff, it's intentional and helps to create the somewhat melancholic mood.

you have an attention span of a molly fish

Reminder that Hikaru loved Tsubasa romantically.

My favorite anime. Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. Now I`ll go crying somewhere else.

Very nice painting

>SoL

Figure 17 is the peak of anime.

I know I've only myself to blame, but there are ways to retard-proof your spoilers, like putting a spoiler warning under the spoiler and putting the actual spoiler into a separate spoiler. Oh well, I guess I'll never know if it's actually good.

If you left the thread immediately after opening the spoiler, almost guaranteed within couple years tops you wouldn't even remember ever
hearing about this anime. But since you had to autistically complain about it, now it's burned into your long-term memory.

It's still worth watching even if you know that spoiler.
It's the type of thing you know is going to happen before it happens.

What is the function of the title?

Loved it. My favorite approach to a character death, it felt so real.

>post in a thread suggesting Figure 17
>thread dies
Anyway, watch Brigadoon too. It's completely different and there are no similarities, but it's pretty similar.

Nah, I immediately thought that I'll never forget it when I saw it, and I never forgot anything that ever gave me this thought yet. There are thoughts I wish I could forget that haunt me to this day thanks to this goddamn anchor. You're right though, posting about it made it absolutely inevitable. I don't particularly regret not being able to watch this show though - it's probably not that good seeing as I haven't heard about it till now.

If goodness of anime was measured by how often they're mentioned on Yea Forums, battle shounen wouldn't be unequivocally shit.

The bedroom scene between Tsubasa and Hikaru was perfect. Also Tsubasa's behaviour afterwards where she became more attached to Hikaru and became afraid whenever she left her sight was really well done.

>loli space sci fi SoL
A creature appears from another world granting Hikaru powers which she has to use to defeat monsters and save the world. It's a sci-fi magical girl show.
It's also not nearly that obscure. Though that's a chart with Angel's Egg near the bottom, so whatever.

I really want to watch this but I don't want depression

>It's also not nearly that obscure.
Yes it fucking is.

>mal
Name a better objective measure of obscurity.

I always wonder if this anime was funded by Hokkaido's tourism council or something.

Do you mean granting Hikaru to Tsubasa?

>Sibling children holding hands
Absolutely de licious

Attached: 684776946.jpg (325x159, 9K)

The spoiler is not that important (user didn't say which twin), it's still a good ride even if you already know the story.

>sibling
Next you're going to tell me that one of them is not gay for the other.

Yep, specifically I meant the bedroom scene. It was children talking about death and feelings yet it felt genuine. Heavy stuff.

One of them is definitely gay, the other is kinda sisterzoning her.

Oh well, at least they killed off the other's romantic interest

It had fansubs as it came out and a US DVD release. It's certainly not well known, especially now, but a lot of shows never even got that. At least before steaming happened.
Yes.

Different times. Anime community was vastly smaller back then and there were probably not even 1/5th as many anime series overall as there are today. That the few hardcore anime nerds knew about it 18 years ago is only natural, but not indicative of its popularity today. Angel's Egg you're right is nowhere near as obscure, but then again, that's only because pseuds meme it so much.

everything is SoL f you're brave enough

Many of the technical aspects in this series were honestly really well done. In particular the OST and the backgrounds, though the CV's and animation in general were also pretty decent.

hey, watch my show "Kasumin" while you're at it

Attached: kasumin.jpg (1280x720, 86K)

Don't reply to crossboarding shitposters.

Ok, this looks like an even more retarded doremi, downloading it right now.

>there are 3 seasons of Kasumin, each 26 episodes
>both are OLM studio, creators of Pokemons

>Lupin III

Overrated. You've no idea how many reruns my country's major cartoon channel made me watch when I was a kid, there isn't a single person who doesn't know about that series.
Is pic related in that list? I can't strain my eyes reading every single title but if it's missing then it's just a meme infographic.

>vegans think this is gore

Attached: gore.png (852x474, 450K)

why would anyone care about "obscurity"?

>durr why do people care about memes
Fun thins are fun.

it's always good to know things other people don't know
for ex. this Potpourri user who is always happy even if there are just 3 other anons in his threads

Attached: Potpurri.jpg (346x500, 44K)

I man of culture I see. one of my favorites.

Don't get caught up on studio names. A good chunk of the creative staff come from Doremi.

T-thanks.
>Toei Animation
Cautiously picked up.

Attached: 1512583428356.jpg (389x389, 19K)

I seriously have never felt so bad while watching anime.
It haunted me for weeks after.

Attached: 4837-desperate.png (234x200, 22K)

The yellow one? Zettai Shonen. It's a slow half SoL half supernatural mystery. I guess it's pretty comfy if you aren't easily bored.

Attached: Zettai.Shonen.full.1702976.jpg (1644x2334, 1.52M)

but its premise is very simple
70% SoL loli school/village life
30% 2 adult aliens fighting aliens in the distance

On the right grid, what is the name of middle right, bottom left, and bottom middle? Especially bottom left seems awfully familiar.
In case anyone wonders about the rest:
Azumanga Joshiraku RahXephon
Figure 17 (duh) Kyousogiga ??
?? ?? Escaflowne

isn't that girl with violet hair Sora from Kaleido Star?

Attached: sora.png (284x333, 105K)

Watched Mokke not too long ago and liked it well enough, so this might be my cup of tea. Thanks.

I never thought a Figure 17 thread could survive this long. I've seen less than 10 threads dedicated to this anime in all the time I've spent on Yea Forums and they all died within 2-3 hours (with only a handful of replies). It warms my heart knowing this little gem is still not completely forgotten

Bottom middle is Kanon. Don't fall for the memes, it's a shitty VN based tearjerker.

I've watched lots of sol's and the part's in this one are one the best one's I've ever watched. Seriously.

I've never actually heard of this show but it sounds like my cup of tea and not for the lolis, I'm downloading it now.

Yeah, but half the posts are off-topic. It's just nice to be in the company of cultured anons, if only once in a while.
It's the peak of shitty VN based tearjerkers though.

Ah hell I was going to watch it too.

>Toei is bad meme

the plot twist when the S2 protagonist meets the S1 protagonist was both glorious and rage inducing
>U WANT UFO EXPLANATION?
>TOO BAD! HERE DRAMA BOMB! FUCK U!

Looks like it, thanks for the help!

There are some obscure but great shows like Sci Fi Harry that I've never seen even mentioned in passing on Yea Forums.

I love finding hidden gems, it makes them more special to me.

I've forgotten almost all that happened in that.

>comes into a thread of anime he hasn't seen
>opens the first spoiler he sees
I'm sorry for your loss.
I don't think I can name another studio that hasn't made a single anime I enjoyed while most of their catalog is filled with putrid "manime" garbage. I like gif related scene, I guess.

Attached: 9be.gif (740x416, 2.94M)

The blame is 100% on me, I did it without thinking like the retard I am.

You're welcome, user

If it makes you feel better, I spoiled myself about it as well before watching this. Still enjoyed it a lot. Maybe more, maybe less, but I certainly was on the edge all the time because of it.

The cure for autism is magically fusing with your loli gf.

Yeah, I'll still watch it. Somewhat obscure 00's anime is something magical. Last year I watched Mujin Wakusei Survive from 2003 and it was very comfy.

Thanks for the spoiler asshole
Guess I wont bother now

Good. Fuck off.

You re still a fucking asshole, specially not deleting your post when several people already got spoiled before me

Fuck you, everybody disables spoiler text in Yea Forums x because its just a hassle

I didn't post the spoiler, but I don't feel sorry for you in the least.

I guarantee you most people on this board have only seen Castle of Cagliostro and nu-Lupin like Part IV/V/Fujiko and MAYBE the Goemon movie. Lupin isn't celebrated over here in Burgertown like it is in Moonland and Spicville. Part I-III, especially III, are obscure as fuck for some people.

I got spoiled too but don't pretend it's not your fault.

The best part is that Figure 17 has a character-driven narrative, so getting a plot-point spoiled is a nuisance at worst. And I'm saying this as someone who accidentally spoiled himself the very same thing.

I don't recall season 3 ever being released?

Attached: KasuminDVD01snap51.jpg (853x480, 89K)

Middle right looks like Zettai Shounen. I was just looking through old seasonal charts when I saw it so I can't say if it's any good.

was still a good story.

The thing I absolutely loathe about this show is that it doesn't need the 45 minute episodes. Each episode feels dragged out for no reason. Otherwise it's neat.

I'm watching it now and I think its great. I like the cast a lot more than the Clannad girls actually. But I guess I'm weird because I really like Key's SoL segments

UGUU

Maybe its my anime overtine window here, but I'm getting to shit on tier 5 and 6 now, but like hell is shit like Precure, Seikon no Qwaser, and Utena anywhere on the fourth tier. Precure is at best a third tier, and a lot of others in the fourth have seemingly gone up in tiers to like the second or even to the first tier. I could definitely see Utena and Rayearth at a second tier having known a few Fujoshis in my time.

Never heard of it

where would you put Urotsukidōji in that chart?

It has the best overall narrative, tied things together very well.

Somehow it mixed creepy rural adventure+feel good sentiment+creepy urban fantasy all into one

Attached: 1.jpg (640x352, 45K)

An excellent show. Sadly not as popular as it deserves.

>Get your eyes checked
18 gigabytes for a single anime is too much for my poverty ridden ass
>stream with me
thanks, but I'm more of a hoarder

It's in the chart. Right above tier 5.

no one feels sorry for you. there's a statute of limitations on spoilers. this show is over a decade old. ending is going to be spoiled. deal with it

Best was that I hadnt spoiled myself and I didnt think it was mature enough to go that way. Also the final battle. Until she starts pushing through, its a terrified little girl dealing with shit way above herself, IN SPACE.

Sukawara is my rare waifu. Too bad her character was pretty much being wrong about absolutely everything.

Attached: suka suka.png (682x497, 443K)

Figure 17 was such a great anime. I don't think there will ever be another anime that will give you 40 minutes per episode to build characters and their surroundings like this show ever again.

do they fuck?

Wow le thread still alive after that time?

Boy and the female version of Battle of Fire are still great
