There are no issues with the peacefag route because the basis for him going in that direction was there from the start and the Basement revelation naturally lends itself to that kind of development : Paradisians were the "monsters" they were trying to fight all this time while the rest of humanity was always out there beyond the ocean, so it made sense that Armin would be inclined towards diplomacy given his belief in the power of understanding one another through dialogue and information.
Ironically enough, I also think his complacency was a good move on Isayama's part, since it did a good job of highlighting the limits of his own reasoning as well as setting up the eventual conflict that would oppose him and Eren and the progressive degradation of their friendship. He'll obviously need to do something more in the current arc for there to be any kind of payoff for his character though, that much I can agree with. But I'm curious to see where it'll go.
TL;DR Stop hating characters because they behave like real characters instead of being macho and edgy

It pains me we lost the enemy conflict which was so good in Marley, we went from this to Edgeren and Eren's followers being hilariously evil looking, to Isayama discarding Eren crying for Sasha (so AMJC have even more reasons to hate him and for no reason Mikasa forgets about Eren's hysteric laugh when Hannes died) and that Mikasa's flashback.
Except this arc became full shounen and Armin can't ever be responsible of anything. Eren was downplayed to be edgy because then Armin would look even more ridiculous compared to hobo Eren

You know, I’ve always maintained the stance that nothing will become canon; but if an Eren ship were to become canon, I honestly think EreHisu has the best shot.
First off, I acknowledge my bias. However, I ship EreAni just as hard and I can’t see that ship being endgame; likewise, before the Final Arc I also did not expect it for EreHisu. But I firmly believe that the main motivator behind Eren’s actions this arc was to protect Historia. At the culmination of Eren’s journey, he has put himself through hell for her sake first and foremost. If he were to end up with anyone after this, I think it would have to be Historia.
They have a very strong relationship of a nature that causes Mikasa to be jealous. Then there’s Grisha’s marriage to Dina Fritz, ripe for parallels. Parallels with Reiner in crushing on the same girl. Eren’s words to Falco about protecting a girl he likes from becoming a titan.

I don't know. Historia's own feelings is a pretty nebulous matter because we've had no access to her thoughts in literal years and her appearances this arc have been painfully limited. The only time she even uttered a word was in a flashback told from the perspective of a character (Hange) who mostly had her attention focused on Eren.
We have no idea how things evolved between Eren and Historia after the Kiyomi meeting either and the only thing we have on Historia's side is her reaction to Eren's intervention, so it's hard to say anything about her.
On the other hand Eren's concern and care have been emphasized often enough to make a case for him potentially fancying her. I mean, you know there's something weird going on when it becomes noticeable enough for people to start trying to explain Eren's attitude away by pinning it partly or entirely on the alleged influence of Historia's dead sister.
This got too long but tl:dr if anyone had a crush on anyone it would be Eren.
