So how powerful would be Waver if he got a lot of mana through some transfer?

>tfw no gray gf

This shit is boring af. It's just dialogue after dialogue with pseudo intellectual speak.

Not especially. It's not just that the quality and quality of his circuits are poor, it's that he has no talent to begin with. He has nothing unique to him. He's exceptional at understanding theories and comprehending methods, but his skill at actually utilizing those theories and methods is non-existent. Think of him like a scientist who understands everything about the human body, who knows how to get the most out of it, who knows the steps one must take to become the ultimate athlete. But as he has no talent for athleticism, his knowledge will only be of benefit to others and not for himself. It's the same way with thaumaturgy. Hooking him up to a mana battery won't change that.

Unlike Shirou, who is below average in all magecraft but has one thing that he can excel at beyond anyone else, Lord El Melon the Sequel will never be anything more than below average period. At least as a magus. It's his misfortune that his greatest talents, instructing others and analyzing/organizing information, don't inherently have anything to do with practicing thaumaturgy.

I hope the show will evolve from the formula of the episodes so far
>You just saved the day again, professor, you're amazing!
>No, actually, I just got lucky and it barely worked out. I'm so shit. Goddamn, I'm so shit at everything, fuck my life
Because, yeah, we get it already

But he IS shit at everything. And unlike Tohno Shiki or Shirou, he won't develop a super talent in the middle of the story that allows him to overcome all obstacles. Even compared to Hakuno, he doesn't have that stubborn, bullheaded, sheer inability to give up despite a constant barrage of ever-rising obstacles. He's not gonna suddenly gain a dragon's heart or receive magic lightning from an artificial bride. Nor is he the accumulated hatred of countless fallen Masters. Nor is he the owner of one of the Five Magics. On top of that, he's a grumpy middle-aged man without an ounce of charm or cuteness so it's impossible for him to draw strength from his youthful innocence since he has none to begin with.

He is Lord El-Melloi II, the weakest protagonist in the company's history.

>middle-aged man
He isn't even 30.

That's okay. He doesn't exercise, doesn't sleep well, drinks to forget his sorrows and his demeanor is that of a 60-year-old who's had all his freedoms and happiness stolen away from him and now he's been reduced to a curmudgeon chained down by the cruelty of reality. In the Nasuverse, spirit is often more important than the body. A man who is middle-aged in spirit may as well truly be a middle-aged man.

And that is why we love him!

Attached: 1563081583580.png (394x398, 158K)

So all the character development in Zero was for nothing as he's still a wimpy sad sack who doesn't believe in himself?

Of course he believes in himself. But believing himself won't change the fact that he's a third-rate magus with no special power. He's a unique sort of protagonist for this franchise who has to fight using his wits and connections rather than with his own ability.

And that's good. But he doesn't have to explain and underline it every single time he does something

This thread needs more Gray!

Attached: 73871801d9831bd898e7177614bcb29e.jpg (677x906, 92K)

Of course he does. His way of constantly affirming his own weakness is in order to distance himself from his youth.

Is not so useless: is an excellent theorical magician, who can analyze every magic, found all the weak point and explain all the the Mistery behind that in the nasuverse is a very serious matter.
Also,is the ultimate sensei who can make every magician become better...

Right. But the thing is he can't actually become a great magus himself with those talents. That's part of why he's so bitter. He'll never be more than third rate.

That's what make him special,He could be useless by himself but with his peculiar talents and his students he was able to become one of the most important magicians of the clock tower...

That's not really what he wants though. I mean, sure he's proud of his students and he's accomplished some impressive feats, but at the end of the day, he's still a third rate magus.

Knowledge is important, but being able to actually achieve something magecraft-wise is important too, at least in the world of magi. Even if you're a genius, if your craft is shit then you're not really worth much in the end. Otherwise, formalcraft would have more worth.

Couldnt he just transfer his soul to another body with better circuits or something? The first case has an old man that was moving his soul and personality to a homunuclus body, and we know Touko can do the same thing.

Circuits are part of the soul.

I think this is exactly what he think about himself at the beginning of the El Melloi II series, but i suppose that by the end he will be a lot less bitter about himself and a little more proud about his successes...
Hopefully we will be able to see this journey

Not being able to get past his own weaknesses is his own little character quirk. What magus doesn't have a quirk or two? He can't bring himself to give up on his own research, but his own lack of talent frustrates him greatly. Don't expect him to change too much. For him, pride towards his students and envy towards his students go hand in hand.

In the end of the last vol, Waver mustered enough courage to announce himself to Iskander as his subordinate, follower and friend, and is determined to join his army in his NP.

Was it really okay to have Svin use magecraft out in the open?

>sure he's proud of his students
Actually they are the source of his biggest butthurt. He has to suffer seeing them go from baby chicks to soaring across the sky while he's forever stuck in the ground. Don't remember if it was in the latest Strange Fake or the latest CF volume being translated, but it is said that he always dismisses his graduating students with a tinge of spite, as if he can't bear to see them anymore.

He remains jealous and bitter, and every student that passes through him renews those feelings. No wonder he drinks himself to unconsciousness. Doesn't help that many of the alumni keep coming back to twist the knife with their 1337 skills.

this sound epic,i would love to see it animated...

It wasn't shown where they breached the sewer, could have been inside a building. Or maybe they set up a bounded field beforehand that repelled normies.

Lady Saberface Cringe Files: My Little Shisho Can't Be This Cute

Episode 0, the freeway chase scene.

Attached: 1562437047677.jpg (1280x720, 433K)

Yeah that always bothered me. Flat could have been perfect for stablishing that there was a field, but instead he did that nonsense telekinesis thing that wasn't necessary at all.

just a big dog on the highway

Meh... i really dont eat that. In the manga has already proved that if he had the mana , with his skills and knowledge could do respectable things. If he had the mana he could easily break rhe spell of the castle by himself instead to lead Edelfelt.

Having a lot of mana means nothing if your circuits aren't enough to handle it. Circuit quantity and quality are the biggest factors when it comes to mage talent. Even if you were hooked up to an endless supply of mana, the types of spells you can produce are gonna be bound by your circuits.

For instance, let's say that you want to perform a spell that requires 100 units of magical energy. If your circuits can only handle 50 units at once, you're gonna have problems.

This is a problem that Shirou ran into in UBW. Even though he was hooked up to Rin who could convert sn obscene amount of prana, Shirou wasn't really able to keep up with it. Eventuality, he realized he had more than one or two circuits so he made up for it with quantity, but even then, the amount of prana Shirou can convert is vastly inferior to Rin's. The reason he can produce a Reality Marble in spite of that is because his cicuits are deeply specialized towards it. This is why Shirou can create Noble Phantasms but struggles to perform even basic thaumaturgy.

In short, Fastwheels 2's greatest weakness is that he has few circuits of the lowest quality. He worked his ass off to make up for it, but all his efforts make him only average at best. Luvia has an even greater combined total of circuits than Rin, and their quality is likely superb. The difference between Luvia and Fastwheels 2 is night and day.

Can he at least drift with his Aston Martin?

>Reines subtly asserting her dominance
Nice.

How important is context here? I started watching without knowing it's a spin-off and I'm enjoying it, never watched any Fate.

You'd probably understand Waver's character more if you watched Fate/Zero, might as well check it out while waiting for the weekly episodes.

>He is Lord El-Melloi II, the weakest protagonist in the company's history.
Mikiya is weaker, though he is disputably more the deuteragonist than protagonist.

youtube.com/watch?v=JZYRoffFbmA
His backstory is in Fate/Zero, he was 19 then.

You can probably watch it entirely without, but the series has probably the widest range of references to other parts of the franchise of any non-parody anime adaptation to date.
If you want to go into the rabbit hole, there's no real end. You can start with F/Z for the full backstory to Waver and the events referenced in episode 1, but then that also leads to FSN which is approximately concurrently occurring with Case Files (the main story starts at the same point in time when Case Files ends), that that leads into FHA which is where Luvia is primarily from, there's a bunch of FGO references coming up and there may even be a Touko cameo from Kara no Kyoukai/Mahoutsukai no Yoru. So yeah. There's a lot of stuff you could get into but that's a pretty big time investment, so it's down to you.

How much will adapt because Iskandar is MASSIVELY important to the show to understand the endgame plot.

This season is literally just the train arc after a bunch of anime-original stuff, maybe they'll make some more in the future if it's successful enough but that won't be for a while.

Doesn’t FGO disprove this? Goetia took Solomon’s body and got Solomon’s circuits, hence Goetia could use Ars Paulina.

Attached: 1556666848674.png (4051x3113, 1.36M)

>FGO
>Canon
pick one

why not both ? it isn't even treated as a spin-off by TM

Attached: IMG_4278.jpg (1269x709, 75K)

Nope it isn't. In fact, Goetia cannot use Solomon's Revelation skill because this is a skill held by the soul, thus Goetia doesn't have his soul. Soul =/= Body =/= Mind.

That probably has to do with how Solomon was reincarnated. He didn't reincarnate as heroic spirit, but as human with no relation to Solomon while his body was left behind for Goetia to use as a puppet.

No, because he gets results anyway.

Read Codex Alera; you can do wonders with a protagonist who's magic abilities are massively deficient.

You know, I'd never expect to see the day where I'd be disappointed over something getting mainline acknowledgement over F/Z of all fucking things, but here it is. Well done, TM, you pack of cunts.

I'm just glad Hollow Ataraxia is on there at all.

>Kay has a better showing in anime than either Lancelot or Gawain

Best timeline

But Kara no Kyoukai Special Pamphlet said
>Magic Circuits [Others]
>The pseudo-nerves existing in the body of a magus. They are the paths that convert life force into magical energy, as well as the paths which connect to the foundations underlying Grand Rituals.
>in the body
The soul is a record that acts as the blueprint of the body, which also includes Magic Circuits i guess.

>”I wish I was dying in the 5th HGW.”

Soon we'll be getting best knight Bedivere.

Attached: Bedivere.png (512x724, 269K)

>The difference between Luvia and Fastwheels 2 is night and day.
But what if he uses the secret magecraft known as Gun?

And Kay’s best pal

Also from HF epilogue
>Memories, mind, and Magic Circuit are actually in the soul.
>So the body's only a terminal to move around, and the command structure is invincible in that world.

>Was in clocktower, aka mage college, in fate/zero.
>Not 30+ a decade later.

>Bedivere (female) (saberface)

He is 28 by the time of the anime (2003 - after Iselma to Rail Zeppelin).

>Female
Oh you poor summer child.
He's looked that way since F/SN retard

Wrong blonde haired knight.

Attached: ChevvySTR.jpg (660x900, 158K)

Does make him a great theoretician and teacher, though.

Probably more of Babylon first.

He's a broken faucet, pretty useless.

Fidelias best character.

What the fuck with their necks?

Attached: mpv-shot0001.jpg (1280x720, 147K)

What the fuck are you talking about.
They're just about to ship out Bazett and Atrum to Fuyuki for the 5th HGW.

They were decided to become masters some time before 5th war. Atrum summoned Medea a month before the beginning of VN.

Think of Goetia as Male Shiki and Void, not as an external being outside Solomon but another Solomon.

Goetia used his circuits though, that's a PLOT point. The revelation skill is on the soul though.

Nope. Goetia STARTED his plan thousands of years ago, he doesn't even know what Solomon wished in one timeline, he still tries this in others but in some cases Lev kills himself and stops it.

It has NOTHING to do with Solomon's wish, he's even shocked and in denial Solomon wished for that. Goetia is simply Solomon too, just not the same one as the Heroic Spirit, you know it's a dual soul.

Shit

Yes, and the VN happens in the spring of 2004, right?
Waver's birthday is in October.

Fucking magic.

If you pay attention you know Goetia's case is special, like Kingu's. But yes, he used Solomon's circuits. But Goetia and Solomon aren't complete separate existences, even if Goetia and Solomon (The Heroic Spirit) are.

>VN happens in the spring of 2004, right?
What? No, it's winter.

she’s a big qt

Attached: Gray_For_You.png (700x1625, 170K)

What's wrong with that...?
>Waver meets Gray around July 2003
>Adra Castle is on September 2003
>Iselma Towers is on October 2003
>Rail Zeppelin is at the end of November-beginning of December 2003
>Atlas Contract is on January 2004
>Grand Roll is at the end of January-beginning of February 2004. The events of the novel, the big conclusion where everything comes together is gonna be (in the next volume) on February 2nd. the day Saber is summoned in the 5th Fuyuki HGW, for the sake of references.
>the anime takes place between the Iselma Towers and Rail Zeppelin cases, timeline wise

He was 19 in February 1994 and Iselma is set in October 2003, so after that he should be 29.

How was Kay's and Bedivere's relationship anyway? I've never actually heard of any anecdotes between them

>>Waver meets Gray around July 2003
>>Adra Castle is on September 2003
What the hell, I got the impression they've hanged out for a few years at least

On myths? Best friends with a lot of banter amd friendly competition. Like, competing on who gets the highest kill counts and stuff like that.
Only Nasu knows how it works on the Nasuverse

Saberfaces are quick to get addicted to their assigned MC. That's the whole purpose of a saberface.

We should have all seen this coming from Morgan

If she's another Saber clone I'm going to scream.

Do it, you lil bitch.

How do you feel about this?

Thankfully for Waver, Svein and Caules isn’t attracted to him.

Man I sure hope we got bisexual pegging waver doujin.

This. Damn Grey sure got attached to him real fast.

We need to go lewder!
