Orchestr/a/

So I'm a bit of a newfag to Yea Forums and I recently discovered the orchestr/a/ on youtube and I love this shit, it's incredible that a bunch of anons got together to make such a cool project.
I'm really curious about this so can someone tell me the story of how this started or any backstory to it?
Also post your favorite covers made by them

Who wants to bet this guy came from reddit

They should hire drawfags with actual talents. But then again their dedicated artist did something decent at least once.

youtube.com/watch?v=PTlYAoIOgmU

Remember when we did that song and nobody had any idea what the hell they were doing?
Haha, good times.

Never used it for anything other than porn. Guess faggots yelling reddit at anyone new or slightly different is a thing in every board huh.

based

Why are you assuming I said it for that reason? I expect no less of a newfag from reddit.

Made justice to this song.

Is it because of the retarded spacing on the links? God you are pathetic

Specifically, one user posted a thread taking requests for stuff to play on his recorder. Other anons brought up the idea of recording stuff together. Shit happens and now it's still here 5 years later.

How the fuck are these so god damn underrated? I mean some of them are pretty wonky but there are some of them like this one that deserve millions of views, what a fucking gem.

No video, no advertisement, only posted on Yea Forums, YouTube algorithm doesn't pick it up.

You should see the thread this was posted in, it died after 10 replies.

>So I'm a bit of a newfag to Yea Forums
you should also watch Yea Forums draws then, there are only a few but still pretty cool

I like that this project has developed its own quality control, complete contrast to Yea Forums sings

OP here, thanks user, that's fucking amazing. Hope I can catch the next thread for this and collaborate.

Has anyone synced an Yea Forums sings with an orchestr/a/ and an Yea Forums draws OP? I feel like it would be the ultimate masterpiece

youtube.com/watch?v=rphRd46QWt4

Retard left the original in as well instead of keeping just orchestra's recording

I remember SSR OST was missing quite a bit of music. Like the alternative ED from episode 9 (variation on Hitomi ni Usturu Keshiki). Or that instrumental version of the main theme. I even tried to recreate it using some music making software. It would be quite cool, if the orchestr/a/ tried to recreate some unreleased OSTs from various shows. Here's my own rendition by the way starting from 2:40.

the drawfags are much more talented than the musicians on average

this is fucking garbage and needs to be redone. it is a stain on their legacy
WHERE IS IT YOU SYNCFAGGOT

>coping this hard
go practice your instrument faggot and daily reminder to PLEASE RECORD

I'm not sure where I stand on the side of this argument, but what makes you think so? It really seems like a baseless claim.

>oke/a/
>quality control
it's really just a bit of self moderation, a couple guys sometimes shit on others' takes and people get offended, call them tryhards and all, so the tracks that turn out well are the ones that get arranged, recorded and mixed by the better arrangers, instrumentalists and mixers

>collaborate
check okea.moe if you wanna collab, everyone is useful and welcome

> everyone is useful

I don't think you can just compare people from different fields like that.

Now I regret selling my Contrabass and Cello, playing in a regular orchestra was boring, but this seems great.

>coping
I'm not a musician, my intention was to say a lot of you aren't very good at playing

I'm sure they're well aware of that, sure they don't sound as good as professionals but personally I think they're better than the average community orchestras.
And at the end of the day, this is a Yea Forums project.

For a bunch of amateurs who compose it out of recordings of individual instruments, it's pretty damn good quality overall. I've tried to look for a more technical piece and I'm impressed. Perhaps not being a musician makes you unable to appreciate it for what it is.
youtube.com/watch?v=weBvZSVCWfI

>Bunch of amateurs from all over the world
>Never had any practice together getting to learn each others idiosyncrasies
>"A lot of you aren't very good at playing"
I've played the guitar for 30 years now and I'm fairly competent for most pedestrian shit, but I'm not gonna sound great when coupled with a drummer from the other side of the world I've never heard, let alone practiced with.

Aside from the ones posted previously, here is a selection of songs Oke/a/ considers technically challenging:

I can definitely see why, I say good job to everyone who participated. I might join you one day if I ever get some recording equipment.

Just finished the manga while listening to this. I was not prepared at all for the suffering

I know we did that with Yea Forums draws Soramimi Cake some time ago. Twas a great thread.
files.catbox.moe/nlkph4.mp4

Was this ever popular in Yea Forums? I hope I'm not listening to the same people again and again in every cover.

>contrast
Yea Forumssings goes through more attrition and has a lower barrier to entry so its no wonder its a bit shitter. That's kinda the point though. Recently it seems to have been revived though and the new mixers are getting better.

There's pretty much no disagreement there if that's how you maintain quality

that's why it's a contrast

My bad. Didn't mean to post contrast.

Nothing will ever beat this for me.
It's the song of Yea Forums as far as I'm concerned.
youtu.be/qOktQVk5uv8

dog bless

Do they have a different site now? It was only piratepad for a while.

see

>It's the song of Yea Forums as far as I'm concerned.
that's Raspberry Heaven, faggot

Do they sub parts in the same key if they can’t get a specific instrument?

that's not how you maintain quality though, some songs are overall good especially considering the source, like the panty and stockings one posted earlier, while some just sound bad for one reason or another, like the hitoribocchi ed

Generally we aim to get the intended instrument recorded but sometimes other parts are subbed in, and they don't have to be in the same key.

If something is rushed for finishing, yes.
Like bone replacing horn parts, viola part split between violin and cello, flute replaced by clarinet for example.

The arrangers usually write stuff for available instruments so that almost never happens, and even if there's a part for an unavailable instrument we usually wait for someone to record it on the right instrument

>As far as I'm concerned
Learn to read dipshit.

I have a horrible singing voice, I thought it was because I didn't really practice singing as a child. If I start singing as an adult, will I get good?

Oh I see. There's definitely a noticeable difference from how you started vs what you produce now though. Either way, keep it up
keep kicking the shitty players out

It's a little more difficult, but far from impossible. You just have to maintain a weekly regiment - take it slow and easy and as you do more you can start going at it longer and harder.

also hitoribocchi ed sounds fine so I'm pretty sure it's just musician autism at this point

youtube.com/watch?v=ldjfl_rwAOw
better than the original, hands down

It's easier if you have musical background because you already have the ear for it.
Otherwise it's really just luck of the draw whether you have a good ear in the first place, but even a tone deaf person can learn, just takes a lot of time and practice.
Singing is daunting because its so personal and intimate, so a lot of people struggle to begin and then just drop it when they think they don't improve and because it sounds bad at first.
I didn't start to sing until I was 23 and have only done it for three years now. Always thought that I'm not a good singer, but then again I have background in music.
Start with exercises where you try to figure out if you can more or less replicate a pitch. Get someone who you know has ear for music to listen.

Legitimately great rendition of Bloody Stream.

youtube.com/watch?v=zOxvXsHCjI8
The solo parts are amazing

As far as jazz ad libbing goes I think shiki no uta is a lot better track.

I love the acapella one

I doubt you'll get any worse.
