Unless you mean basic stuff like removing static/lip smacks/swallowing etc. I don't think you should. If you go too heavy with the editing you might end up sounding too incongruous with other people

Yeah, it's mostly cleaning stuff and syncing tracks. I don't add any effects. I know it's a time saving for mixers.

It was completed and two different versions of it are posted on kei user's YouTube channel.

I got close enough by splitting the stereo tracks, inverting one of them and letting the vocal tracks phase cancel. Hwatever's left can be taken out with an EQ.

bassfag here, I've decided I'll chip in and do at least a bass part recording for Gate of Steiner. I may not be able to start it for a bit as I have a couple other projects going now that I can't put off, but I should be able to have it done and sent off well before the deadline. Happy to be working with you guys again.
I'll try to post updates as I'm able whenever I see these threads up so you don't think I've dropped off the earth or something.
Also, know drumfag mentioned he could cover guitar/keys and stuff if needed. If it helps to take workload off I can do some of that as well. I'm not good enough at guitar to do those solos at all, but I can cover programming keys and synths and such if it's needed. Of course, I'd rather other people join in with their own recordings if possible. It's less fun if it's just the two of us covering everything, but I want all the necessary parts covered no matter what.

The drums are just programmed there as well, they're just a placeholder until I record real drums, and obviously that half-programmed guitar solo sounds terrible and that's why it would be important to get someone who can actually play it.

I don't use a real amp when I record electric anyway. I almost always use an amp sim like waves GTR or amplitube because they sound better than my shitty amps. Can't speak on behalf of jojo user but Gate of Steiner ended up happening at the same time due to coincidence, me and drumfag have had this planned to start in this time period for a while.At the end of the day though anons will pick and choose what they like, nothing says if they submit for one they can't for another or all 3.

Personally, there's only a few hours a week I actually have the time to sing. Most people complaining about not being to sing are also mostly due to scheduling. I'm sure there are anons who will be able to participate in all 3, but I don't think its going to be all

Drumfag here, I will definitely include everyone who sends something no matter what the quality is or where it was posted, but I can't guarantee I notice everything that wasn't submitted via e-mail. Also, there's a lot of stuff that I can do to salvage recordings that were made in less than ideal conditions, but pretty much the only thing I can do about low bitrate lossy audio files is turning the volume down in the mix so that it's just subtly there and people can't hear that the quality is terrible. So if you want to make sure you can actually hear yourself in the final version, consider submitting wavs or flacs or even high bitrate mp3s to my e-mail inbox.

...and this obviously only concerns people submitting for Gate of Steiner since it's the only song I'm mixing.

Even if I don't there's a cute arbiter waiting for me so I don't mind either way.

Apart from a few lines, there's actually usually enough of a gap between lines for you to compose yourself. Focus on a line-by-line basis until you're more comfortable.
The second half is a lot worse than the first, so just keep playing the song back and try to get each line down before moving onto the next. If you're still having problems your pronounciation or tempo is probably wrong, so listen closer to the song and pay close attention to enunciation and copy that. Really drill it into your head, or find a "trick" that works for that line you're having trouble with. Do it again and again, because when you're actually doing the recording, you're probably going to forget the trick you had.
For more difficult words, remember that Japanese is a syllabaric language. Break the word down into smaller chunks like mi-to-re-te-tai.
"tt" is prounounced twice, its not a long "tee" sound. Maybe you already know this, but if not it alleviates a lot of hiccups.
Everything in brackets is from backing singers, and so you don't nessecarily have to sing them.
If you're getting out of breath too often, you're probably singing with too much head voice. Put your hand on your chest, and try singing so that you feel the vibration in your chest. If you continue to sing like that your breaths will last a lot longer. You'll also sound louder and more clear, so you're killing two birds with one stone.
I've posted my attempt earlier in the thread, and its a lot easier than you might initially think.
A lot of what I've said applies to every song, so keep it mind if you're struggling with singing at all.

You could use audacity, but its designed more for recording and not mixing. FL Studio is probably what the mixers are using. Compared to what features audacity has, its a no-brainer.

Speaking as an FL user, it's a pretty unorthodox choice and not one of the most beginner-friendly ones. I'd actually recommend Cakewalk, I tried it out briefly the other day and it was super easy to learn and I could get good results on it.
