Cus most of the time the dub is shit. Some dubs are OK though. Like the soul eater dub but even then hearing people screaming at each other in english makes me cringe.

I enjoy English dubs quite a bit. I will admit there are translation issues but that is what online searches are for.

Also, I enjoy the English dub for Bible Black since I don't care for porn but it makes it into a comedy.

I only like dubs when it's for comedy anime, I remember that I really liked watching the two seasons of baka to test dubbed. Heck, I watched it twice dubbed and 2 times subbed, it's just a good anime.

I just don't think those kinds of shows were meant to ever be in English. English is not cute, and that's all those shows were meant to be. Meanwhile serious shows with a lot of male characters dub just fine

Dub often equals localization, and localization often equals shit.

I realized the other day that I can understand the gist of what everyone is saying even when I turn off the subs. It only works for SoL shows though, anything with specialized vocabulary is still greek to me.

I started watching Jojo with the dub, until it stopped after part 2 ended. People complained about the accents.
So, a few years after when part 3 and 4 got dubbed, there were no accents. And people complained everyone sounded american.

I like both dubbed and subbed. I don't really have a preference unless I find out something is MUCH better in one form over the other. The one thing I massively dislike in both is the overuse of the same voice actors over and over again, shit becomes so noticeable. Even though I don't speak moon-runes I can tell when they use someone a lot. ffs get some new voice actors

There are enough genuinely fun things in this world that there is never a need to settle for ironically fun.

it's always jarring to be able to mentally picture the intention in the script and it not syncing with the characters.
