Also your trusty bodyguard is a reverse trap and will be your main wife.

Everybody is an aspiring writer user, you, me, your mailman, your mother's friend's second cousin's wife's son. The reality that most people are never going to write a book released to the public, alone a book that receives mostly positive reviews. But the thing is that you have to start somewhere and if you can't even push out a decent short novel that would allow you to call yourself a writer instead of "aspiring writer", you are never going to make it, so up your dream now and use your time better.

That being said a good isekai should include the following elements:
1. include rape, rape is always good
2. make the cast vulnerable i.e if you put your characters in a dangerous situation, they should pay the price for it, be that trauma, scars, body parts or their life
3. subvert the expectations, everything has been done, it's hard to do what hasn't been done, but you can still do something new, unless you try to be like other isekais, your story is unlikely to be exactly like anything of like the others

First off as said, write, but unlike him, don't follow his shit advice, bar the second one.

Don't do that, a character should be their own entity. If your writing, take a moment and think about what the character is thinking and how they, with everything you've shown/told the audience, are going to do next.

Twilight was described as making Bella a "Pair of Pants" the reader could wear, don't do this to your character. Make them relatable, but not so empty and hollow that it could be anyone. A craven character who hasn't developed isn't going to run into the fire to save someone, even though the audience thinks they should.

Get the rules of your setting memorized, and have the characters and villains follow them. It's interesting if a character can BREAK a rule, but it should be unique. If there is no healing magic in the setting, but the character has a "Special Power" to heal, that's interesting, but make it so they are breaking the rules and everyone knows it. Don't arbitrarily decide halfway through that the rules are different.

You will write yourself into a corner sometimes when you do, it's fine for a power-up or something stupid like that to continue the story. You can be straightforward "Defeat the Demon King" or a bit more abstract "Form a closer relationship with your mom." However, there is "an ending" in place that you can focus on.

You DO NOT write an Isekai story, you write a fantasy/scifi story with Isekai elements. There's a huge difference between the two.

You do the first one and you'll shit out isekai story #12741, you do the second one and maybe, just maybe, your story will turn out decent.

The concept of isekai as plot device is lost to modern nip authors, instead, they revolve their whole world around getting transported to isekai. That shit is going to lose its novelty after the first dozen chapters.
For example, compare any series with Isekai on its title and Magic Knight Rayearth.

Also while he tries to be a villain his harsh experiences in the past live where he had to value efficiency prevents him from doing any of the inefficient bad-guy things.
As a result when the "guide" tries to cause him mysery, the MC's irrational actions cause the MC to succeed instead, making the MC mistakenly grateful towards the guide, which causes the guide to weaken, because positive sentiments towards the guide are like poison to him.

This is very important: you have to decide what the point of the isekai is. A lot don't even bother and that's what makes them mediocre isekai.

The most common route they take is analyzing modern society by staging the whole thing as a psychological exercise in which a "random" person from Earth is selected to participate. Sometimes they know how to build things (an educated person back home), sometimes they have enormous powers (analogous to an incredibly wealthy person on Earth), and others just want to live life in as stress-free a manner as possible (your average person). In every scenario they are constantly challenged to intervene in the world they find themselves in. Very few can resist the urge to meddle -- most do draw the line at gunpowder weapons or other advanced methods of warfare though.

The second thing you have to consider is what making the world into a game is going to accomplish. Does the victim know what RPGs are? Are they familiar with basic gaming concepts like leveling up or gaining abilities? How does any of that work in the world they are taken to?

I'm of two minds about it

One side appreciates the attempt to illustrate what happens to bog-standard fantasy isekai worlds when modern morals, ethics and politics get tossed in (the author is unapologetically feminist, and it shows). Throw in a dash of your typical /tg/ dweller being fascinated with the idea of turning the concept of always-evil monster races on its head and do it in an isekai with classes for everything, even the lazy and insane. Characters grow and change, some for the better and some for the worse, and massive battles are fought simply because the humans from Earth are present (at least one of them has realized their mere presence is enough to get people killed).

The other side notices the title has absolutely nothing to do with the plot anymore, which has grown so large we're dealing with apocalyptic forces on a monthly basis (seriously, only two seasons have passed since the story started). The pacing is all over the place, the author has a patreon and is constantly jumping from one side story to another to appease the paying customers, and the cast has grown so large the author constantly loses track of various details. Entire subplots have taken real-world years to pay off (and some never pay off at all).

It has its moments, but they are interspersed with some extremely irritating characterization and a whole lot of filler. It's very difficult to recommend, but you could do a lot worse.

When I first started reading TWI, I figured that Erin and Ryoka were supposed to be Mary and Sue respectively; two halves of an overpowered protagonist whole.
